In Texas as a child we played a game in the car called Slug Bug. It's just like your Reg game. If we saw a Volkswagen Beetle, we would hit the person next to us with an open hand usually, but sometimes we would punch.
I enjoyed your video so much! You all have zest for life! The joyful spontaneity, adventurousness reminds me of me 20 years ago. I’m in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Ireland and appreciate your information sharing about logistics. It inspires me to also rent a van. I’ll need to research about driving & needed licenses. I love the colors of blue and green of the ocean! The beach videos you shared remind me of home here in Oregon. I know I will feel at home in Ireland now!
My great great grandmother was born in Sligo and I believe that I still have family there. Ireland is beautiful. My son is planning on visiting there. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and suggestions and advice on visiting. I just found your website. God bless you 💚
Yellow/white reg LOL in the US we had slug bug or punch buggy, depending on where you’re from, in which case you’d see an old school VW Beetle (Bug.) call it with color, and punch your sibling.
Very good, Irish weather is as usually predictable, rain followed by cloud and more rain and that goes for high summer. I was asked where all the rain came and said it might because there is 3000 miles of Atlantic Ocean lapping our shores.
Yes!! This is exactly where I want to go when we go to Ireland! We have family up there that have invited us but, I feel like in many ways so many people miss this part of Ireland and never go that far north! It's lovely to see it in this video!
Great video you are such fun Laura splitting the G and taking selfie with the sheep, but Sean the Sheep did not look at all impressed with your shanigans!! You like me have a great love for Ireland and its abundantly clear from our videos, nice meeting your friends too.
Hi. Just found your page, and wouldn't you know it, the second video is you and your friends visiting Donegal. My Great (Gr), Gr, Gr, Gr. Grandfather James McBride was born there and lived there until he was in his twenties, around 1819, when he moved to North Carolina, United States. I would have loved to see more of your visit to Donegal because someday I will travel there. Been to Dublin but really want to visit my ancestor's home.
What a delightful trip! You all sure looked like you had a fun time. Making great memories are what life is about. Your videos are fun and informational at the same time. That's my kind of travel. Job well done :) Cheers, Kevin
Great tour, Good People! Much appreciated. Lucky for me to have been to Ireland four times (way back in the 70' and 80's) crisscrossing from Dublin to Galway and Kinsale to Bushmills. But Donegal! Beautiful. My Grandpa was born there and came to the US as an orphan at age 13. Must see. Thanks for sharing it's beauty.
Donegal is such an amazing, enchanting place. I was up there last spring/summer and to be honest I don't think the weather was any better!!! Didn't get as far up as you guys got but the road across from Letterkenny to Glenbeagh and then to the coast is amazing, with Mount Errigal standing like something out of Lord of the Rings in front of you on the way. Your attempts to get sheep to have a photo with you made me laugh so much, as did the fact that we got about 2s of Donegal Town at the end of the video, which was where you are supposed to be going in the first place!!! Some great challenges, some great locations. It's definitely a place I want to go back to in the future.
Donegal has a special place in my heart 💛 Errigal is so beautiful! Haha the sheep where not amused by us 😂 I was waiting for a comment on Donegal Town. We made it. Just about 🙈
Hi, I discovered your channel recently and your videos are really helpful ! I was wondering if you had a list of your 4 month trip in Europe with how many days you spent in each country/city ?
Hi Laura! I am not sure if you still post and read comments, but I am a new subscriber, and was curious if you could do a video on what you think is a perfect itinerary for a tourists visit to Ireland for two weeks? I absolutely love your content and how you explore the island, and I have such a long list of places to go in 2025!
@@WildlifeWarrior-cr1kk alright, be on the lookout for a white subaru forester. We're just going to ride around AZ shouting "WildlifeWarrior-cr1kk" until we find you! Flight leaves out of Philly on Thursday night.
Great video! I would love to see that part of Ireland someday. In a previous video you said you had trouble with the “th” sound. Here is a method that may help you. Stick your tongue out about 1/4 of an inch. (1cm?) Then close your teeth until they are just on the top of your tongue. Then blow out of your mouth making a hissing sound. Practice this several times. Then just at the end of your breath open your mouth making the AH sound. Now repeat doing this as quietly as possible. Practice this a few times. Then shorten everything up and you’ve got it!! Hope this helps. 😊🇺🇸
Hi! i'll be starting a 2-3 month trip in Europe mid-August; starting in Dublin. Was doing research about SIM cards and it's hard to find a recommendation that would cover all of the EU reliably. Was wondering if you had any experience/recommendation on this. So far I've gathered that Orange and Vodafone are the way to go. Holafly advertises unlimited data, but that's mostly because the speeds are ridiculously slow. Thanks in advance! I'm scared and excited at the same time.
Hey Laura! One of my subs let me know about your channel and I was wondering if you’d like to do a collab some day. A lot of my viewers are really excited to see Ireland and would love this kind of thing. Drop me a message any time. Cheers!
good thing it wasnt the middle of the sea .... not sure the insurance covers that lol would love to do a camper trip and defo to donegal , but ill do with hotels or my car ... yes my car , done it before , will do it again lol
I certainly could enjoy THAT Guiness about now! What an amazing road trip! The counter to FL where the travel is terrible and the topography is lacking any character.
Not a dumb question at all. To be honest I don’t think there is a rule. The person closest to a pull in reverses and let’s the other vehicle pass by. There is normally somewhere to reverse too. Don’t worry too much, if you get nervous you can tell the other vehicle odds are they’re Irish and will help you out 😊
Gerald. Good spatial perception helps L. If there is a grass verge then drive up on to it, and the other driver will do the same. A 4X4 is a good idea when driving around rural roads.
after the sheep I hugged with; you should have hugged with a sheep. Jesus said sheep are pretty meek; sheep are pretty meek. Ewes are the worst: they will stomp away their baby.
Laura, do you have a video of the best way to change currency in Ireland and the best way to change into cash? I seen a blog talk about a cash card that is used but I can not find the video again. Is that something you know about?
It was such a fun trip!! 🤭 We were so lucky with the destination ✨️ And doing the challenges was so much fun too 😂😂
Thanks for the good laughs 💛

We do the same in Australia but call it ‘punch buggy’ and you have to say ‘no returns’ straight away otherwise they can get you back

😂 exactly! Slug bug. Heh what fun! I also thought of slug bug when they did the yellow/white reg punch 😂
Hello from America ! You guys are awesome.
Looks like you started in Castleblayney (Lough Muckno)?!
Did you do a video on Monaghan/Blayney?
Well, now I know how to clear a road of sheep - simply try for a selfie.
Haha yes it’s the ultimate Irish hack it seems 😂😂
Luvit 🕺
1 month in Ireland is on my bucket list.
Use to play Punch Buggy here in the states. First to see a VW bug and say Punch Buggy got to do the punch in the arm.

I grew up in a Boston Irish family so this was a real treat for me as I grew up listening to the Irish lilt.
I will be continuing my trip through Donegal in Spring. So looking forward to it. 37 wild Atlantic way points and I've done 9 so far.
Wow fair play to ya! I kinda wish I took pics of all the points when starting my travels
@@Live.Adventure.Travel thanks Laura. Maybe meet you on the road sometime. May you have great travels ahead.

Assaranca Falls is a magic place. I was there in October just before the clock change. Maghera Beach too. So quite and not many people around.
Yes literally such amazing spots 🥰
In the States we do the shoulder punches (as kids) when one headlight is out. Roadtrips were a such a fun time for my younger sibs.
It was fun to see all of it!
The beginning of the video looks like Castle Blaney but I'm probably wrong.😊
This is a phenomenal upload, I need this is my Hiking Eire playlist ❤🇮🇪
I wondered if you were going to split the G at the Clannad/Enya pub in Meenaleck, but the one you went to was grand too!

A reg, is the registration number of a vehicle.😊
Dumb question: with such narrow roads, and no place to pull off, what is the rule when another vehicle approaches?

Ane speak English with Irish accent😅
As an avid stouts enjoyer splitting the G doesn't sound like a challenge at all. 😜
Winner?
Annie sounds more Irish than the Irish
How to confuse Irish people...don't distinguish between 'a dart' and 'THE DART' in your thumbnail. I'm like, well it's 50/50 between Howth and Bray...
