This is the break-in oil and filter change for my 2022 GSX-R 750. It's very easy and I go step by step. The hardest part is removing the left fairing for access, but that's not really hard, either. Good video. If I may make two tiny suggestions...As a precaution, I would recommend placing some foil or some type of barrier between the oil drain hole and your exhaust (if you still have the stock exhaust) when initially removing the drain plug. The volume of oil that is pouring out of the drain hole is high at first, and you can see it pouring onto your exhaust, getting between your exhaust and the exhaust shield. That could be quite a mess to clean later if ever you needed to. Also, the Ducati service manual does state to use a dab of Threebond on the threads of the drain plug prior to torquing down. Do you have to? I would say it's not "necessary" per say, but I generally like to follow Ducati's recommendations when performing work that may or may not affect the warranty on both my Streetfighters. ...Yeah, that's "Streetfighter's" plural. 🤣🤦‍♂ Not trying to criticize as you did the oil change as it is supposed to be done, but just wanted to throw a few things out there that I learned along the way during my SFV4S ownership.

@@jonsnow6403 Thanks for the comment. I don’t think any kind of thread lock is necessary and I’ve never had so much as a drip. However, a bit of oil did hit the exhaust which is unfortunately very common and dealers often make a mess (it wasn’t too bad with mine). It simply burns off after the first ride. I was smoking after a few stops for sure 😂. I’ll definitely use some foil next time

I rarely use torque specs as I've been doing this for awhile and go by feel. The drain plug is 14Nm and the filter housing is 10Nm. No silicone or thread lock! Just a new crush washer for the drain plug and the filter housing has two o-rings. I reused the originals as they're not worn and seal fine for a couple of oil changes. After that, just replace those two o-rings and always replace the crush washer 👍

Where do you get your 0.94" from mate? In all the documents I have seen the figure is 0.70-0.78 in or 18-20mm. This is actually a significant diffence on a high performance motorcycle. They also specifically say the bike must be on the side stand when measuring, where as you treat it as almost an afterthought. Are these differences due to the age of the bikes or the country or do Ducati change them according to which way the wind might blow that week?

Carb is quite reliable, you might have dead battery or ruined electric starter but you still can ride it by kickstarting. But it eats more fuel and the weather can affect the startup. Fuel injection is a much better for the fuel but if you not take care of that any computer related machine (ecu, tps, iacv) with the filters maintenance or battery replacement you will end up having to push your bike to nearest repair shop during a ride

@@Cyclingwithgasoline I need some help, I need the part number/code of the stock handlebar on your classic 500. I am getting trouble finding one. I do have the handlebar but it is chrome plated, not suitable for my requirements, I need the black powder coated one’s part number, If you can help me in this.

@@chetansutharx Part numbers for these can be hard to find. You can easily have your chrome one powder coated by a 3rd party or buy a new one somewhere like eBay. They’re readily available, new in box.

@@Cyclingwithgasoline I got the chrome plated one’s part code from hitchcocks but I am getting trouble finding the black one’s part code. You can give me your classic 500’s chassis number, I can get the part code from that. That’s the reason I was asking for your instagram account in the first place.

Take the india made carburetor off and throw in the scrap bin and fit something else. I run mine on a 32mm amal concentric runs great and more power

Agreed. The carb has been causing a lot of headaches. It’s being replaced with an Amal carb

I liked the look of the 500 with out the bulge of the electric starter. Electric starters on kick only bikes looks out of place.

I wish I could have watched my URAL engine being rebuilt like l did with my Triumph. My Triumph Tr-6 and URAL engines are both now redone. My Sportster l have had for 25 years and 400,000 miles on the original engine which I think is never going to wear out. It has outlasted all of my Honda's put together. A lot of people me included wish we had your knowledge and skills. Did you have a second motorcycle while you were rebuilding the 500?

I’ve been lucky to be around bikes my whole life, so relatively simple ones like this are fun and easy to work on. Your Harley is a beast for sure. And I have a Suzuki GSX-R 750 and Ducati Streetfighter V4 as well 👍

@@Cyclingwithgasoline For a vintage kind of motorcycle crash bars, the old fashioned ones fit the period look of the bike. The guy who won a new RE 650 dropped the bike at speed and the one side of the bike looked like someone took a power grinder to the whole side of the bike.😭
