Another excellent video, I'm really enjoying this rebuild! I'm excited to see the finished bike! I've spent a bit of time in LA, I can't recall seeing any Enfields, your ride must be pretty unique!! 🇬🇧
Thanks for watching and I really appreciate that! There really aren’t comprehensive, step-by-step videos on these Bullets, so I’m trying to fill the void as I rebuild mine. New video is coming soon.
I’ve been following this restoration and had a couple of questions for you. Are the Indian cranks not rebuildable? Also looked up Hitchcocks site for cranks and they did not list one for this vintage cast iron 350. Are the NLA?
Looking for the carb rebuild. My 2003 cranks but not turn over. It used to before but only on choke. Changed the rubber boots but frustrating. Really considering selling it if I can’t get it to run. Great videos
Hey there buddy. Any info on the torque specks for top end re install? I blew my head gasket two days ago. Just figured I’d ask as your the man! Thanks! Great content so far 👍
Thanks! And I’m not big on torque specs as I generally go by feel from experience. However, here’s the official torque specs for the iron barrel 500. The rocker bearings shouldn’t be too tight. A lot of people make this mistake and put too much pressure on the arms. The spec is 9.4 ft. pounds. The cylinder head itself is 24 ft. Pounds. Make sure to put the proper washers on the studs before putting the long bolts in. The rocker box covers are listed at just 1 ft. pound. Seems a bit low to me, but that’s the spec. Thanks for watching!
@@chetansutharx As always 😩. My second attempt at an exhaust didn’t work. I know the one I ordered was right, but it’s straight from India and the header wasn’t what was pictured. I got it from eBay and it’s not even worth trying to return. So, I’m going with a high mount, trail-style exhaust. I wanted to keep it low and traditional, but I’m liking this idea. Will look cool and give it some edge (and it’ll be loud as well). However, this exhaust needs different jets for the carb that I have for the original exhaust plan, so I needed to change that. I’m getting there and a video is coming soon. Thanks for being patient 👍

What year is your 500 and how many miles did it have before you restored it?
