Motorbike Seat Re-upholstery. In Việt Nam.
I've made this video as a substitute for my own tutorials whilst travelling for two months. Here you can watch two Vietnamese experts re-upholstering motorbike seats. Take a look at the tools and techniques they use, to get an idea of how to recover odd shaped seats. They used the same techniques on the pink bar stool they finished earlier.
If you'd like to see more tutorials on re-upholstery and soft-furnishings, please like, subscribe and hit the bell to be notified when I make more videos.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your projects!

    Thanks for that little tip I was just debating wether you could use sawdust I'm doing floorboards that has woodworm, I think, so I treated them with woodworm treatment 1st, and now I will try fill them with this It could be borers, or it's moisture under the floor So I'm thinking of trying to ventilate under the house maybe I'm not sure but thanks again for the tip

      Thanks for your comment. I'd definitely try to find out what the cause is and try to fix that, or you might have more problems going forward. I've not tried the wood filler on floor boards, so I don't know how it would work if it gets heavy traffic on it, but it does give a hard finish on chairs. Good luck, and hopefully, you can find the cause.

    What thread do you use to stitch the back fabric to the chair please?

    • @crofthouse489
      @crofthouse489 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use a fine gauge upholstery twine, but if you look up extra strong upholstery thread, you could use this as well. Gutermanns do it in different colours. Thread can wear thin as you pull it through heavy fabric layers and can snap, but you'll work out how long a length of thread you can use as you go.

    How do i remove glued on braid?

    • @crofthouse489
      @crofthouse489 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You should be able to just pull it off. I would then try to scrape any loose glue residue off gently with something blunt, then replace the braid with new if you're not re-upholstering the whole chair. I always use uhu glue.

    Проще придавить сиденье чем-то тяжелым, чтоб поролон сжался - тогда не нужно ничего разглаживать и натягивать. Без усилий выкладываем и прибиваем ткань, а когда снимем груз - все натянется и будет ровно 😊.

    How do you put the inset back in the metal chair?

    • @crofthouse489
      @crofthouse489 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Melissa. Once the back is attached to the front with the metal back tack strips, the front is screwed back in place, through the holes on the back of the metal frame, using the original screw holes in the wood. This is why it's important to cut fabric around them and put holes through the fabric with a regulator, if you have one, whilst constructing the front of the chair. The 4 screws are visible on the back of the frame. Hope this makes sense.
