Reproduction re-upholstery. Button Back Armchair. Part 1

In part 1 of this tutorial, I strip down a modern, factory built, reproduction, button back armchair. It's different from traditional upholstery, because it is constructed using hardboard and foam instead of webbing, hessian and hair.
In part 2 you will see how I successfully reupholster the chair, after removing some of the components, but without the need to remove the foam padding.

How do i remove glued on braid?

You should be able to just pull it off. I would then try to scrape any loose glue residue off gently with something blunt, then replace the braid with new if you're not re-upholstering the whole chair. I always use uhu glue.
