Where do you get your macrome yarn?
Awesome video
Thanks!
Awesome video - what fly and size did you get the big brown on?
Rainbow warrior. #16
New Zealand wool indicator method using unwashed wool more simpler to construct than this method , all the best, David.
Thanks for the tip David! I’m pinning your comment.
Good looking fish right there 🤘🏻
The Eagle! have some great memories on this fishery.
Hey Tim, for sure! Such a great place.
Great video. You fishing in March or April?
Hey Gary - will definitely will be out March and April. Not sure if I’ll be on the eagle but there’s a good chance. You?
Sitting here at work and hoping for the Lord's work to be completed by an eagle
Have the recon 10’. Love it. The blackout is nice but so pricey. Thanks for the review.
So…. Is it worth it?
Haha sorry! Actually doing a full review but…If you have the money and want that extra reach, it is an incredible rod. If I had to choose between this and the 10’ 3wt recon for about half the price? I’d go Recon without a second thought.
It's beautiful
Nice looking fish. All of them have great colors!
Agreed and thank you very much for the comment!
Must have been a cheap fishing pole before that little fish wouldn't have broken there pole otherwise
Actually wasn’t a cheap rod but it must’ve had a small nick in the graphite and was compromised.
Wait is that not what 9 inches looks like?
Was rooting for the Nuggets the whole time! I told everyone in the beginning Denver’s going to win, no one believed me. Love the video 🤘🏻
Sub'd... That is an awesome place and can't go wrong with Ed's Flyshop! Thanks for sharing, I miss it already!
Thanks Joey! One of my favorite places as well. Thanks for the sub. 👍
It smells oil
I’ll be there tomorrow
Good luck my man! It’s an amazing place
That little fishy didn't brake the pole. The pole was already damaged and it just happened to come apart at that moment.
It broke. You can hear it. I’ve had a section of rod come loose many times. This wasn’t one of them.
Yep, had the same happen to me many time over while fishing. You get one small scuff or a little deeper of a scrape on the rod that creates a weak point
Hey guys I’m headed to Eagle here in two weeks, do you have Instagram?
Nice! Yes, same user name.
Sent you a DM on Instagram
You end up making it out?
The bromance continues
I’m ready for wet wading
Dude where is that it looks awesome up there
Colorado! Thanks
Love it!
Thanks!!
I can't wait...
Let's all put on our trucker hats and head out to the bar We'll end up in The Standard In the bathroom doing coke This is very Hollywood and yeah I get the joke

Great content man! Definitely subscribed to your channel!Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures!
Thanks so much! Had a lot going on so took the winter off from filming but am looking forward to some fun video projects this spring!
Great video, beautiful big boy brown. Nice job keeping him hooked.
Thank you!
Awesome video, have you been doing any fishing lately?
Hey Andy, thanks! haven’t been out a lot lately. Been busy with some family stuff but all is good and I expect to back on the water for a big fall trip in a couple weeks. How about you?
Same thing here
Excellent tutorial
Thank you sir!
Freakin Josh and the crap strap 😂 literally lol’d
Haha I know! Easily my favorite part of the video.
Great video. Amazing river you fished.
Thank you! Yes I wish I lived closer. I’d fish it every day!
Another great vid! The “technical” skill you showed fishing between rafts 7 minutes in was perfect. 😂
Hey, we worked with what the river gave us! Haha. It really wasn’t that bad, we only saw that one large group come through.
That’s some great looking water. That brown at 19:32 👏
Actually the first one was awesome too. Looked bigger than the very last one?
Thanks! Yea it’s a sweet tailwater that feels like it was just made for fishing. Tons of pull off access and tons of fish. Mostly browns. 👍🏼
Great video. Totally agree with you guys. That river looked awesome btw And the crap strap was hilarious! 😂
Haha thanks! We had a blast. Was a super fun day.
Whoa man!! that fish 18:47
I know right! I’ve prob only ever caught two or three that have that color and pattern to them. She was a beauty.
Used to love the Eagle back when I was working up in the area always had my gear in the truck soon as I’d be done with work hit the Eagle wherever I was nearest great fishing, low pressure.
That sounds awesome. Did you get into any big fish close to dusk? I noticed they would come out and smash streamers off the bank right when it got dark.
@@highholescramblers I fished a lot there well after dark with streamers or a mice pattern caught some large browns at night. Even a couple pheasant tails would work. I still fish the Blue River at night a lot no one’s there and they love mysis shrimp patterns.
Yeah I’ve heard that about the blue. Haven’t fished shrimp there but have on the Taylor below the damn. Those fish are for real.
I see you rock the Orvis Clearwater sir, I do as well were you stripping those juju on that first fish and look like it?
Yessir love the Clearwater. Best rod for the money in my opinion. Not sure if I was stripping it there, don’t remember. Was likely drifting under an indicator and just stripping in slack.
@@highholescramblers I got one for my 5wt. That must have been it. I didn’t see a strike indicator so I’m like holy shit if those things are chasing nymphs they’re pretty aggressive.
Yeah actually now that you mention it I think I was swinging flies on that fish. Don’t think there was an indicator. Nice catch. 😁
@@highholescramblers O your euro nymphing I got cha. I don’t do any of that.
Just swinging wet flies trailed by a nymph. I use a 10’ recon to euro but wasn’t doing it on this trip.
That brown that snuck up on your at the 17:10 mark was an amazing fish. Great video!
Thank you! That was a fun fish.
That brown that snuck up on your at the 17:10 mark was an amazing fish. Great video!
Thanks! It was definitely the fish of the trip.
Great video. Those were some monster trout
Thanks Andy! Yea we got into some good ones for sure and had a lot of fun.
Btw. Been out catching any fish lately?
@@highholescramblers Not really. I haven’t been going fishing much lately. The last few time I’ve gone there wasn’t to much action. I was doing pretty good on trout a few months back though. It’s been 100f° lately so I’m sure that doesn’t help 🤣
Eeesh. Yeah the heat is crazy. Hope it cools down soon and you can hit the water. But either way, fall is maybe the best time of year to fish so we have that to look forward to!
That was awesome
Thanks!
Looks like a hell of a trip! Cheers to more victory beers 🍻
Haha thanks and cheers! 🍻
Unreal video! What size are those flies?
Thanks! They were size 10 and 12.
Great fishing day!
Thanks! It was a blast.
Awesome video! 👍🏼 That last rainbow looked big and angry
Thank you! And yeah, I think it was a healthy fish. Too bad it won the fight!
That's my kind of fishing, fun times!
Thanks! It was a blast. No tiny midges. 😂
