  • Part 1 of our trip to the Eagle River, a tributary of the Colorado River. We catch some big beautiful brown and rainbow trout. Wonderful late winter/early spring fishing in the mountains. Part 2 out next week!

    Used to love the Eagle back when I was working up in the area always had my gear in the truck soon as I’d be done with work hit the Eagle wherever I was nearest great fishing, low pressure.

    • @highholescramblers
      @highholescramblers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds awesome. Did you get into any big fish close to dusk? I noticed they would come out and smash streamers off the bank right when it got dark.

    • @davids11131113
      @davids11131113 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@highholescramblers I fished a lot there well after dark with streamers or a mice pattern caught some large browns at night. Even a couple pheasant tails would work. I still fish the Blue River at night a lot no one’s there and they love mysis shrimp patterns.

      @highholescramblers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I’ve heard that about the blue. Haven’t fished shrimp there but have on the Taylor below the damn. Those fish are for real.

    Awesome video.. makes me miss the mountain rivers from State College, PA when I was up there for school. That first brown you caught looks exactly like the ones I used to catch on Big Fishing Creek and Penns! I need to get out to Colorado to fish sometime.

    • @highholescramblers
      @highholescramblers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yessir love the Clearwater. Best rod for the money in my opinion. Not sure if I was stripping it there, don’t remember. Was likely drifting under an indicator and just stripping in slack.

    Please consider not mentioning the name of the river in your videos. You’ve got it in the title and you each mentioned it like 50 times.

    • @highholescramblers
      @highholescramblers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback Jason! It’s funny, my wife said the same thing but I’d already uploaded so couldn’t make the change.
      Out of curiosity, is it just annoying or as a rule you don’t like fisheries mentioned? Honestly we felt this was an obvious enough spot in a popular fishery so people would likely know. Small, off the grid kind of streams are different and we wouldn’t name.

    • @jjns3991624
      @jjns3991624 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As a rule I’m against putting rivers on blast. That’s fine if you want to post videos of your fishing but as a fisherman/outdoorsman you should do your best to conserve and protect the resource. I feel that the name of the river isn’t essential to the success of your content.

    What is the point of posting this video? You didn't show new or clarify old techniques. Were you lonely there and hope posting this will bring more company there for you next time? If you just want to share, maybe do a vid of your breakfast and leave it go at that.
