Hi there i tried to install the retropie to my ssd and it gives me error when i install the updates and upgrades
why do i need an adapter to use my genesis controller on the plus ? on my original atari 2600 i just plug in any sega master system or genesis controller and it works
You dont need to use it for the Atari 2600 as it will work fine. It is for the Atari 7800 which has a two button controller.
will this image work on a pi 5?
It will only work on the Pi 4.
Nice vid :) I did a very similar action with a recently purchased Amiga 500. I prefer retrobright with the vapors, fearing that the paste will leave streaks.
I've done quite a few consoles this way and never had an issue with streaks. However sometimes its hard to see how effective it has been until its rinsed off, and it is not quite there so you have to reapply it again.
6:50 i didn't get the name of this game, would you tell me again it's name?
Hover Bovver is the proper name. Bovver is slang for 'Bother' as in 'trouble'.
@@RetroGamingBanter thanks for the reply :3
May an usb floppy drive be used with this atari 400 mini?, i saw a video about the c64 maxi using an usb floppy drive for games
Yeah I remember watching a video doing the same. It could most likely be done on the 400 Mini then.
I still have mine. It still works. I need it to play M.U.L.E.
Glow arcade racer was cool but there was a ton of rubberbanding. Made it difficult to enjoy
How can it make sense to flash anything if you still have loading times? The flash memory of the thing isn't much faster than the SD card. Why not start games directly from SD?
Nice review. Where did you buy it at that price? But why mix metric and imperial when mentioning the dimensions and weight? Stick to one or use both.
I got it on Amazon in July for that price. I usually have inch & cm and g and lbs for the weight but forgot to add those :)
Ah, love a cleaning montage.
Check out some of our others, theres an Atari ST, Commodore, Amstrad and more!
i know this is old but i hope someone can answer me. can we use a normal action replay with this? or does it have to be the psuedo kai one??
I believe you can still use a normal action replay cart for cheats etc.
is this ODE model specific? I learned with the PS1 ODE it took specific versions of the PS1 to work..
This model works with both 20 and 21 pins, as far as I know it works with all.
Fenrir Duo is not expensive at all. $130 is cheap considering what I can do
Fenrir Duo paired with a Pseudo Saturn Kai cart is unbeatable.
Only video i could find that tested the game drive. Thanks. Bummer result though.
Yeah it would be nice to have a dev mode like the Harmony Cart but not possible with the FPGA in the cart apparently
great review thanks, wicked channel !!!
Thanks! Please subscribe if you have not already. I will have a review for the Atari 400 mini soon.
Is it compatible with RP3?
Only Raspberry Pi 4
@@RetroGamingBanter Thx
Is there an option to slow down the tape loading to give an authentic experience if desired?
Not with this device. You could get a ARDUITAPE/CASDUINO/TZXDUINO device which is a tape loader and loads games at the original speed.
Thanks so much. Very good overview!
Thanks, much appreciated! Please subscribe if you haven't already and we will keep making videos.
Not comfy with Atari graphics . Prefer intellivision
what tune is 3:40 ?

is any 1 good with the Dragon 32 here? i need to know because im stuck with a small program called wordproc (its a wordprocessor) for the Dragon 32 in machine code (language) binary assembly - does any1 know what the start end exec values are for this program? thanks.................
Love the video! Can I ask about the RF modulator and the S Drive Max? Do you happen to have a link to where these can be purchased?
AtariAge is great for anything Atari related. forums.atariage.com/ might help with finding a RF modulator replacement. For the S Drive Max it is an open source system so you can buy from various places. I got mine from eBay a few years back. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173710208225 for example.
does any1 know where i can find grand prix online ?? thanks for the dragon 32 ? as a type in game thanks....................
Do you mean a game that you had to type in from a book or magazine? I am not familiar with any Dragon specific magazines, but they are probably online.
@@RetroGamingBanter yep from a magazine its called high noon as well as grand prix too thanks................. from a book too thanks.............
@@ms-ex8em Try on worldofdragon.org/ they have plenty of books and magazines there.
I just installed mine but it won't play 3/4th of the games that it did by cd. I have the firmware file on the microsd, I can pick the games but only 1 out of 5 play. Anyone known why this might be happening?
I havent had any issues with compatibility from what I remember. My guess it would be the CD images are bad. Try downloading from another source and see if that fixes it.
@RetroGamingBanter the lord doth answer mein prays. Someone on Reddit invited me to the fenrir discord and a guy had me fixed in about 20 minutes. I abandoned the two micro 64gb sd's and bought a new 128, and he had me download the firmware, not the one that fenrir has on the website, one that's 4 months newer and possibly by the creator. Every single game works now praise his name. 🙏
@@C3phoe Great to hear it is working now!
Does this make the Ram Cart obsolete besides wanting to use it only for Cheats?
To an extent yes. I believe you can still use it as a RAM cart. So the cart is not a requirement, but a nice companion for the Fenrir.
Was trying to do this but the CD-ROM games are loading extremely slow
I cant remember off hand but it might be loading the games at the speed of the original drive. The games can take a while to load.
Where can I download this image?
Google is your friend
@@RetroGamingBanter So is a simple reply. Downloaded his last image off of arcade punks and it was corrupted.
Didn't watch the whole video- but if you go over to the Atariage forum for the 2600+ they have the firmware update available and discussions on improvements.
Yeah I mention it later in the video. Footage was recorded with the first beta update, but I have the second update installed now which has some more improvements. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video, i just got my fenrir duo it’s working great except that I’m having an issue where some times when I power on it skips the game menu and goes to the settings screen instead and act as if I still have a disc drive in it. Then try searching for a disc do you know what could possibly be causing this problem?
I haven't had this issue myself. You could ask in the Fenrir discord channel at discord.gg/5Nsu5YJhjv The developers and many owners of the Fenrir are there, so one of them will know the issue. Hope that helps.
I'm sure you can do it!
How to add Roms to this build?
retropie.org.uk/docs/Transferring-Roms/
@@RetroGamingBanter I tried it b'y usb stick and by internet. Neither work for me.
@@jeremiebazinet what part didn't work with SFTP or SMB? They should work fine.
you could mod a Freeview decoder inside
Yeah very easily. Its actually useful as a RF to HDMI convertor for video capture or just RF input from old consoles in general. Plug the RF cable from a console into the Amstrad MP-3 modulator, then use a CPC plug to Scart cable for 'RGB' output on the MP-3 to connect a OSSC, then HDMI output that to a monitor/capture card. Phew :)
Awesome!
Thanks!
Love it❤
Thanks!
I bought the commodore 64c wedge shape a few months back..using the kung fu flash and it runs great...F1 key is stuck and not registering keystrokes but other than that it runs fine...happy new year and thanks.
Maybe something has fallen between the spaces of the keys. Its well worth opening it up and having a quick look, or if you have a key puller lift the key and see if anything is stuck etc. Happy new year to you too!
@@RetroGamingBanter thank you..i have never performed surgery on a c64 before but i intend doing just that...thanks.
Is there a workaround for more than 15 slots in HXC mode? I don't have an oled installed, so i think i can't use the normal gotek mode
No idea to be honest. You can fairly easily add a display to these by the way, theres a few guides online how to do it. You can also add a buzzer to simulate the disk access noises.
this is sick where do you go to get the games to add on the SD? respect!
archive.org
How could I use this image on a mini pc?
It is not made for PC, but you could extract the image files with WinRAR or similar and then have the games ready for use with RetroArch.
Man i wouldn’t go over trough app that shit just to retro brighting the case, even so i do see any difference, not mention good luck remembering in wich each part should belong to as it is easy to mess things up, If i ever want to upgrade my atari 400 with extra ram,i probably would think 3 times before doing that,i actually can’t believe that people just go down that deep rabbit hole just to only retro bright things, just insane.
Retro brighting was not really needed for the case. As mentioned in the video it was mainly dirt and stains with minimal yellowing. If you check out some of my other videos such as the Vic 20 at th-cam.com/video/wZ4fVSqdb2A/w-d-xo.html you can see a much larger difference.
Dont know if youll respond, but how do i get the cd2jcd to work? I drag the games track/bin files to be opened with the jcd app,but like,it opens, works, then just halts and nothing happened Am i doing something wrong?
Ooooooh dang Nevermind,im just stupid, lmao Figured it out just now
Sorry only just got to read your message. Good to see you got it working.
@@RetroGamingBanter yooooooo Actually, good timing! Two questions are 1) some of the cd games won't compress down to jcd, whats the problem with that? 2) jcd support on the everdrive is still in prototype mode? Only games that I've tested is highlander and it runs and then vid grid loads, but doesn't run,so im guessing a future update may fix it,or i possibly messed up somewhere
@@Buguese It can be due to the 'beta' level of CD support. Sometimes you do have to try running the game a few times to get it working. I think I tried the majority of games available on CD in the video, so they should at least work after a few tries if they don't run first time. For the files not converting , it could be bad CD images. I don't provide links to ROMS etc, but have a look on archive.org as there are probably working ones on there ;)
@@RetroGamingBanter ayeeee Good stuff, good stuff Alrighty,I got a free afternoon, going to totally try all this out because yeah,im a bit angry that I wanna try all the jag cd games, but no results from the tool Thanks for actually coming back and helping, lmao You're the best!
Im interested on buying one, where can I buy it?
Links in description
Very very cool!!
You’ve just sold one! Buying
Nice!
Is it possible to buy this on eBay or amazon.
Not that I know of. Have you tried searching on their stores?
@@RetroGamingBanter I couldnt find the stores.
@@RetroGamingBanter I have a atari lynx 2 that only turns on when it feels like it sometimes it doesnt even turn on at all i looked inside and everything seemed to be in order do you have any idea what could be wrong with it?
The only thing i saw is that the white ribbon cable is a little worn down from the top.
@@Sapphire1984 It could be any number of things. I have not opened mine to see what it is like inside its so hard to say. If you have a multi meter, check if power is getting through and trace it until there is an issue. It could be capacitors are failing and not getting the power to where it is needed. I have not checked but there are probably people selling capacitor replacement kits for the Lynx, they can be more expensive than buying yourself but it saves time searching for the right ones.
I noticed you have the English Patched version of Dragon Force 2. Did you try playing it? That's the main game I would do this mod for. What size SD card did you use?
I used a 128GB card. I did not have a larger card on hand to try but it should be able to do 256GB and 512GB
Do you know if Fenrir Duo will work in all Saturn models, including the Japanese region console?
It will work on all models including V-Saturn, Hi-Saturn and Tectoy. The Duo supports both 20 and 21 pin connections and includes ribbon cables for them.
Thanks for putting this together
Thanks.
