I have bought an offroad modified Toyota Hilux Vigo and I'm eager to do a quick walk-around review of this 4x4 and share my plans for the channel and everything with you. Before we dive into all that, I discuss why I have chosen a pickup truck and a Toyota Hilux in particular - this model and this brand. Just to ADD the MOST important point to add . Results may be less than 1ltr per 100 km [I can confirm this ].[throttle response improved ] The debris [hard particles] and oil sludge increases wear on injectors prematurely . The PCV and EGR systems are responsible

    If you want your engine to last forever then you need to do the following: 1- install mechanical filtration oil catch can (not baffled one since it doesn't filter + increases the pressure) mechanical filtration catch can can filter almost 100% with no change in the pressure. 2- delete the EGR & retune, engines are completely designed to work with no EGR. Actually EGR system doesn't work all time, it works only in idle and light cruising, other than that it stops working. 3- change air filter more often. 4- install a secondery diesel filter. 5- every 5000 km add injector cleaner. 6- avoid short trips as possible. 7- change engine oil every 3000 km. Then see me after 20 years with ur stock engine runs more than 400000 km and still works like clock.

    • @The4x4Lab
      @The4x4Lab 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I mostly agree with your advice. I have also added secondary fuel filter. However, 3000km for oil change? Isn't that a bit extreme? What vehicle do you have?

    • @duasobA
      @duasobA 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@The4x4Lab land cruiser 70 series. For the oil change i go for 3000 km for all my cars petorl and diesel. Engine oil is the blood for the engine. I wont go above 5000km whatsoever regardless of what the regulations say., the 10000 and 20000 is only for environmental issue not for ur engine interest, they want to reduce the amount of used oil dumped. So they asked people to keep it in thier engines for long period of time. Which i dont. Try to send a sample of oil that ran 20000km and to oil lab for analysis. You will be chocked about the results Its not oil any more especially in diesel engines

I believed it is available in Europe with the small engine. I saw several youtube vids. Only mistake toyota did with the new land cruiser 70 series is that they put the 2.8 L engine on it. That engine comes in the hilux, i hope they put the land cruiser 300 series v6 new engine in the LC 70 SERIES instead, if they did it would be the best ever LC 70 series. Logging companeys can own or leease land that they build roads to survice their plantations. in order to prepare location plots and allow for planting of forrest plantations employees need to have access when they need. in areas of hight rainfall roads or tracks can wash out and become un usable. if you look at plantation areas they have kelometers of tracks to look after that costs allot of money. allowing people into their plantations creates insurance issues and if people distroy the tracks by driving on them when they are wet then allot of money and time is required to rebuilt the tracks before they are safe to use for forrestry work "which is the only reason the tracks are there in the first place". These tracks are not for recreation. in some places access for multy use is allowed but you will find that those areas are more stable and don't require as much effotr and money to maintain. I very much enjoy dricing tracks but I can understand why more tracks get closed "espeshly when I watch youtube videos. It is unfortunent that although most people will drive with respect for the tracks those who don't do so much dammage that in order to save the tracks for logging or fighting bush fires and to reduce accadents the people who are ontracted to look after the tracks who do not get paid or compensated for the damage caused take the desission to lock up the tracks. As some people do not respect the sinage or locked gates they are forced to pay people to patrol . I hear your fustration as a four wheel driver but having worked as a plantation planter and pruner and fire fighter I see their side as well. It is always that a few spoil it for the rest.

      There is a lot of misconcception about winches out there. I believe, you should get the biggest one that you can fit. I'm running a 9500lbs on the Jimny.

    Really great video. My Jimny has been lifted with rubber pads and I am about to correct that. I saw some cheap liftkits, i.e. 400 euro for 50mm. should one stay away from them or are they still recommendable and how do they compare to the high end ones?
