Hello again, thanks in advance (thanks for answering my questions) What valve springs do you use and what is the pressure used and what rocker are you using? Trick Flow etc? Thanks for your help.
@@mustang1989 I used Comp ultra gold rockers and the stock springs that came on the heads by PAC Racing. TFS-16306-16 is the party number.
@mikeymac9 thanks!!
What is the measurement of the push rod in intake and exhaust? Thankyou!!

How do you find your G-Force street T5? Does it hold up ok?
@@stacks_and_setbacks It’s light and shifts great but it’s not durable. I’ve broken it many times.
@@mikeymac9 Do you still use G-Force components when things fail?
@ For gears, yes. You have to stick with GForce gear set. I swapped the stock forks out for Amp billet forks, the stock lugs for heavy duty Amp shift lugs in the cover, and the stock case for the GForce case. It’s probably the baddest synchro T5 you can build.
@@mikeymac9Thank you. That sounds expensive 😊 I hear G-Force are moving away from T5’s too.
@ They stopped making the straight cut faceplated gear sets a while ago. Thankfully they still make the synchro gear sets as I’ve needed a few gears lol
What a car! Do you know what compression you're running?
@@stacks_and_setbacks Thanks! It’s about 9.3.
@@mikeymac9 Thank you! Impressive times and numbers. Well done in getting the car so sorted. I'm looking at a set of TFS 190 11R’s too. Do many make pistons to suit this head to gain more comp?
@ I’ve personally never researched it but I’m sure there are. Twisted wedges have been around for 30 years. I’m just having fun with the stock stuff right now. My last video we got it down to 11.22 at 120.
@@mikeymac9 Well done! I'll be watching that for sure.
Well, I just pulled the trigger on a set of Twisted Wedge 190’s. You’ve inspired me to get my 1970 Maverick moving. I have also reached out to FlowTech for a cam but they mentioned they don’t give out the cam specs unless you place an order. Im wondering, were you able to negotiate the specs or consult with them prior to placing an order? I appreciate your time with all my questions. I’m building from Australia and it’s difficult finding local information here sometimes.
Hi! Nice car and pulls ver y Hard! W/ that combo I a planning to change my flat tappet cam. Di you use a non roller Block adapter or did a Hole on Block to use a stock roller Fit o the 68 Block. Man your engine sounds very, very healthy!! I have good heads, long tube headers, a vic Jr and a couple carbs to play with. I'll be hitting it with a decent hit of spray on a progresser...like start w 100 and work to 200.
Can I ask what cam you have in her now? It sounds exactly what I'd like in my comet. I am still hesitant abt the summit f303 plus..your rpm range sounds right where I want it. I'd like to come off the transbrake at about 3100 or so and shift around 6200-6300
@@nickfay2359 It’s a custom hydraulic roller from Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction. Tell him what you want to do and he will get you what you need.
@mikeymac9 Thanks for the info!! I had a lunati grind I was going order, but found out it's no longer made. I ended up ordering a Howards hyd roller #220275 that has a 2600-6600 rpm range and has a lobe sep that will work a little better with mild shots of N20.(150-200). I don't expect this little 331 build to last long, and will be going to a 9.5 deck like yourself. I am going to look up your cam guy and see what I can get for that next shortblock. I'm thinking maybe a 408 or 427ci for this next build. Shld be fun in my 65 Comet

Is your clutch a powergrip or powergrip hd? And are you still running the shims?
@@kbrowske13 It’s Ram 98794HDT. Power grip HD. I’m not using shims now, just trying to slip with my foot. I had .050” shim when it broke in June, tried to add .070” but it was too much and would need to machine my throw out bearing spacer so I got rid of them and just baby it.
Thanks man I’m trying to find a good clutch that can handle the abuse at the track but also not be too aggressive for my 400ish hp setup
What suspension are you running
Viking shocks front and rear, Moroso springs up front. Calvert mono leafs and caltracs on the rear.
Man that thing is beauitful and Fast! the 11R heads are killer, and if that thing weighs 3160 with you in it(you don't look like a small human 🙂) it is a giant tin box! do you run a thin cometic head gasket? wondering if a touch more compression might pick up anything. ever do full throttle shifts? will the T-5 handle it? would a better oil pan/windage tray/crank scraper help any? curious about another 5-10 hp here and there. bowl work? touch up the valve job? not sure if any of that would help. she runs killer man, and looks great doing it. keep it up!
Thanks! It has a Felpro 1011-2 which is .039. PTV clearance is .080 on the intake so getting a little close. Ive broken this T5 so many times I am kind of over it thats why I'm a little shy with it right now. Id like to sell it in one piece to help fund the next trans. Id does have a real nice Stefs pan on it.
I just stumbled across this channel for the first time tonight. I played around bracket racing at NED back in '73 with my '69 428 SCJ Mach1. I'm a diehard Ford guy and have been my entire 75 years ! Back in '68 I ordered up a '69 Torino GT fastback 390 4spd. car, loaded with all the bells and whistles at Lexington Ford. Street raced the shit outta that thing. Broke it in hard and it ran really good. Looks like a Ma. plate on your car ? I was born in Lexington. You may not want to divulge your location, and that's understandable. Anyway I'm subscribed now so I'll see any new stuff. We gotta keep the Fords all FORD !! Hate this LS shit in Foxbodies 😠!!

Cubic inches really dictate cfm. The Vic jr isn’t going to sacrifice as port velocity in comparison to the super vic. A 302 is only going to need some much cfm. Your hp lose is indicative of port velocity loss.
That's a fair bit lighter than I would have guessed. I still love the way that thing sounds. Sounds like it is turning a lot more than 6700.

@@sidthompso8097 Great story. Thanks!
Outstanding! It's lighter than I expected. Have you tried going down to 13-12 lbs in the tires? Maybe that will help the 60ft, of course that slows reaction time a tiny bit because the tires have to wind up a little more. I'm impressed with your consistency with the stick with lifting on the gas on the shift. I agree, with the decision to put it up for the season while it's running great. Wipe it down, put a wrench on everything, drain the water, get the slicks off the ground. Now, get those edges sharp and lube and test release the bindings, maybe loosen the settings just a tiny bit till you get warmed up. Carve some turns and bash some moguls for me. None of that down here in Alabama. I have an input seal leaking on my C6 in my 64 Galaxie, so I guess I'll pull the trans soon.
@@davidkeeton6716 I have tried lower but it gets into bogging pretty good. New England Dragway is prepped pretty good. I should have added more air and see how high I could have gotten it but I was trying to be consistent.
@mikeymac9 Have you thought about going to a heavier flywheel to maintain rotational energy on launch, like they used to do back in the 80s in M/P cars and the old junior stockers turning 9-10k on the line. ZZZzzing! I mean you have rev limiters.. Just a thought.
@@davidkeeton6716 I have had a heavier flywheel. It’s faster with the light one. I think the heavy flywheel is a very old school way of thinking. Why not put a heavy crank pulley on it too right? Guys today have shared data showing the little gain on the starting line is lost down track after each gear. Cale Aronson has a great video on it. Worth the watch. My issue is clutch application. Need an adjustable clutch or just do a better job lol

your car rips, with a 302, really something. just subscribed. not familiar with your car setup, but seems there's more in it if you can get it to launch a little better. losing too much rpm and flywheel energy when clutch is engaged, but that's often part of running a small displacement engine. you are having fun with a great car, engine and performance. Great Job!
