    The 68 69 Torino Fastbacks are my favorite muscle cars! My dad had a 68 with a built 428 back in the late 70s that ran high 10s and he drove it on the street. beautiful car!

    Love watching you work with this car as I had a 68 Torino GT with 390 engine and a auto trans. This was in the early 70's. Loved that car a lot. Washed daily, waxed about every few weeks or so. Too poor and old now to mess with such things but I can watch you do it. Good luck of future runs.

    I was 10 years old when dad bought a brand new sky blue 428 gt Torino from Rusty Eck ford in Wichita Kansas. It was a left over 68. My father was a demonology doctor. He had done a hair transplant on mr eck. He had a TV Guide storey rite up on him. Called a hair rasing tail. My dad was Dr.West A Clabaugh MD. Not sure when storey was done. Hopefully someone can find the issue. Brings back some fun times.

    Have you’ve tried going up a few sizes on the accelerator pump squirters? Most people with auto transmissions go up 4 sizes due to having a low carburetor vacuum signal at the launch to eliminate the bog.

    • @mikeymac9

      I leave off the 2 step so there’s no pump shot involved. I have tried not using the 2 step and using the pump shot but no real difference.

  • @FXRSDriver

    A good rule of thumb is to divide mph by 681.525 to get optimal et for 1/8th mile, or 1363.05 for 1/4 mile. Wallace racing has similar links to run that calculation too.
    Have you tried pulling the air filter at the track?
    Did you have a heavier flywheel on it before?
    Keep plugging away at it, you get it.

    • @mikeymac9

      Yeah I don’t run the air filter at the track and I’ve used a heavier flywheel but it was the same. Cale at Black Magic said the benefit of the weight on the hit is lost down track on every shift trying to get the revs up. I just need to figure it out. Every Coyote Stock car runs a lightweight flywheel.

    Dr.Fear in the house!!!😂 Question...can you see your fuel pressure on launch? Could be momentarily loosing pressure then catching back up. You tried a bigger carb say a 750dp? Ive did quite a few HCI 302's that woke up going to a 750 over a 650. Great job btw bro! This is Don( LilRed86 )ftom Corral. BTW.....i wanna tape your RIGHT foot to the floor on those shifts bro!!! • @mikeymac9

      lol I can’t break the trans until after Sick Summer. I can’t see fuel pressure. I just have gauge on the carb itself. I do want to test a 750 as I think it would pick up some also.

    • @BlueByYou07

      @mikeymac9 Get a gauge where you can see the fuel pressure. You could be loosing pressure momentarily on launch causing the bog.

  • @williamrose8944

    Do you think it would help if you ran a T Bolt style air cleaner or a stock hood scoop, fiberglass hood would loose weight in front, move battery to the trunk , frame connector do they make a front Spoiler for that year Torino. Keep it going

    • @mikeymac9

      I run both head lights since it’s a street car so I’m not sure a thunderbolt set up would help much. It does have a stock 69 scoop on it and I don’t run a filter at the track.

    • @williamrose8944

      With a stock scoop cut hole in hood and make a base plate under carb then measure hood to plate then get foam or rubber seal to get air to carb or the T Bolt style I'd run them to the core support cooler air . 1 of my older Brothers had a 68 Torino GT 390 auto
