You are an excellent driver and Mechanic. Your Torino is the hardest launching 302 that I have witnessed. For a stick and carb car She's brutal 💥. I look forward to seeing you achieve your goals with her. Turn blue REPRESENT blue oval baby yeh! 😂
Made this 68 year old feel good seeing this car run. I had a red 68 with 390 in it when in High School back in 72. 427 side oiler ,dual quad ,4 bolt mains ,solid lifter cam sitting in the garage but it never made it into the car. Sold it to a dirt track racer. I thought, Ah, I will get another one later. Got married instead...
Reminds me of my fun time putting syncros in my Trans!! I just made my own aluminum 3" exhaust and my own mufflers wich i should of put more baffles in, i made a vid to show it & first time welding too Great runs tho at drags even tho u said u stunk it up!!!
you might want to try a different slick and tire compound, a stick car needs a small bit of wheel spin so it won't bog down, because you are hitting the tires so hard. just hope it might help. thanks for the video and keep banging gears
My goal when it pulls down on the launch is to stay up around peak TQ.... 4500-5000ish would be ideal. Launching at 5000 would pull it way down too low.
A Torino is awesome I love it when I was a kid my neighbor bought a brand new 67 he only had it a year before all came the motor and went in a 427 side Oiler with a high ram13 half to one compression had a wild mechanical cam custom headers super T10 4 speed9 inch Locker48 8the car ran1080 is on 10 inch slicks full interior car pump gas is a good old days I got to go down the quarter mile in that car when I was a kid Great Lakes dragaway was pretty lenient about rules Torino's were overlooked for many years those are super cool cars you don't see too many even in a car shows unless you go to the Ford Nationals thanks for the inspirational video I can't build cars in racing anymore but I can enjoy this I don't care what kind of car it is if it's cool I like it check out cold war Motors you'll be very entertained Hillbillies at their best actually Scott is an excellent body and pink eye he resurrected some really rough cars have a great day
I love my 68 torino. Wish I could find another.

at 5:25-5:28 i see my S10 in line behind your car at the track as you were filming the blue mustang, i thought this car looked familiar. Cheers!!
That’s a sweet truck. Very cool build.
Time for a Jericho!

I've thought about an 8" slick but the 26x10 stiff walls are very popular and most people make them work. I'll get it figured out.
Nice!
Wouldn't it be better to leave at say 5000 rpm, right where the torque curve starts ?

@@mikeymac9 i'm just thinking, maybe drive-line shock is causing that bog when you leave a 6500. ?
Can you explain shimming the clutch? Was it not in spec? Are you trying to soften / slip it?
Yeah soften it up, reduce the base pressure.
@@mikeymac9 did it do what you were expecting?
@@russellbroadwell No not this time but I did have a carb issue so we’ll try again. Looks like rain all week unfortunately.

I'm surprised there aren't more Torinos around. I'm always the only one. Plenty of Chevelles tho lol
Don't remember a 67 Torino. ...
