Len I told you during the TH-cam live presentation that the Valentine Teddy Bears I printed did not use any support and I told you there were no support but I was remembering incorrectly they did have support but they were fairly easy to remove.

can I use petg-cf in my mini A1?
Hello! I am just starting on my 3d printing journey and wanted to ask if I can use the same settings on my bambu A1? I tried with the profile from esun's official website (260 nozzle and 90 bed) and it was stuck to the bed . I had to pry it off.
Did you dry the pva beforehand?
Thank You, such a helpful video, got it up and running in no time... Have it running on an Atom Lite esp32, with an led strip, powered by usb directly...
Hey Mate. The pad you use to work on drives your camera's focus crazy. If you change that, your focus issues should be gone

The Frostbite is absoltly amazing
I dry mine in ordinary oven using thermoprobe. Once set, it hovers between 10c.
really really?
I'm struggling to find affordable 300x300 ones. Ever come across them? I thought 300 was pretty common but apparently not?
Thank you LenDizzle for trying to be a voice of reason and "here's how you pivot" versus the "Bambu Lab shot my dog and stole my bible" bad country music song style overreactions I see most people doing. To everyone else - this proposed change is in BETA, not RTM/Final, and there is time for things to change. Stay firm/resolute in what you are willing to accept, let Bamby Lab know constructively what you will and won't accept, and vote with your dollars. Want to do something constructive? Start a petition for them to develop an open API as s secure alternative to MQTT they claim they have security concerns with. Flipping out on them, accusing them of everything under the sun, and then demanding them to change is not how you win people over to your POV.
literally all the things they claimed was "false" has the same connotations. Tying usage of the printer to a "cloud" that authorizes the action means at some point they could make all those claims true. All those claims are 1 desperate cash grab update away from being true. "hey, we dont want to support that model anymore, but it needs to communicate with our cloud for you to use it, sorry"... but maybe they will be one of the first companies when it gets to that point push a patch that will release it from needing the cloud? doubtful
"literally all the things they claimed was "false" has the same connotations. " - please provide specific examples. You don't want to use the cloud because you don't like their requirements to connect to it? Use LAN mode.
@@hotfix7387 here’s an excerpt from their original blog post. Critical Operations That Require Authorization The following printer operations will require authorization controls: Binding and unbinding the printer. Initiating remote video access. Performing firmware upgrades. Initiating a print job (via LAN or cloud mode). Controlling motion system, temperature, fans, AMS settings, calibrations, etc. They had planned on specifically requiring even LAN mode to have to do the auth bs. Whether they actually intend on this “developer mode” to be the saving grace for those of use who care will depend on how it plays out. As for examples of specific examples: - Bambu Lab will remotely disable your printer ("brick" it). - Firmware updates will block your printer’s ability to print. - AMS functionality will be restricted, and the use of third-party filament will be disabled. - The printers have a timed killswitch that disables them after a certain period. - A subscription will be mandatory to use your printer. Connecting all major functions of the printer to cloud auth means they can introduce whatever restrictions they want to after the fact and printers will be too far in FW venisons to downgrade away from it. Run of the mill desktop printers use this kind of crap to restrict what/who’s ink you use (HP is a good culprit here, so is canon) Apple uses their cloud to prevent downgrade of devices so you can go back to versions that run better than the latest one at the time. Spotify bricked the Car Thing because they gave up on the device so now it’s mostly ewaste. Magic Leap 1 no longer supported and usable due to cloud security check built into the software. Canon wants 5$ month subscription to use the camera you already bought from them as a webcam at full resolution. Hell even MakerBot at a time considered DRM filament spools, I think they backed down before it went anywhere but it could have happened. Once you introduce a system that CAN be the gatekeeper for these things, how long before they start nudging and seeing where they can go with it. We only got that so called “developer mode” because of the community backlash. Bambu has shown their hand now that they have considered and were wanting to implement these types of controls
How do you get this still image in Bambu Studio on the Status view? For me there is just everything black. 🤔
This works great, but why I can't see video in bambulab studio?
Thanks for the tips on setting up a network inside of your internet facing one. I have no intention of upgrading to what ever they want to do. I downgraded my firmware to the version I could go with the 3rd party agreement, then installed X1Plus and set Lan only. I can used Orca locally and send files to the X1C and see the camera. The only downside it the MicroSD card fills up with image files and has to be cleared when full. I saw a YT video on how to connect to the printer using SSH and can access the card from my computer, I was at Micro Center today and they had at least 20 X1C combos and another batch of just X1C - was hard to keep my mouth closed around the people looking at them
They are still amazing printers, and I think you have demonstrated another way to go that removes and possibility of Bambu Lab doing all of the horrible and insidious things people are claiming they will do. So maybe recommend the printer but advise people they may not want to connect it to Bambu Lab's cloud until they have confirmed any updates to the TOS or new requirements they may not be comfortable with
topic is a week old
And yet misinformation, allegations, and people frothing at the mouth are still going strong. everyone needs to take a deep breath, chill out, and wait for facts and not "I heard X" or "they will brick your printer"...
Secure my ass
A frog in slowly boiled water is a good analogy for the situation. Just another corporation that thinks they own your equipment. You want to talk security, how about... (Its your responsibility). You want a remote connection? Set up a dns, end of story.
“Bricking your printer” was not a headline because it gets clicks, as you say. It was straight from their Terms of Service. It is not unreasonable to say that Bambu can brick your printer when it says it right there in the Terms of Service if you do not update your printer for security-critical updates.
If you don't update the firmware, how can they "brick it"? They might be able to limit cloud based printing, but if the printer is in the same configuration as when you bought it, the card slot is still functional. Therefore, not bricked.
@ I think you’re missing the point. The point is that they wrote terms that allow them to make your printer stop working. How they will do that is kind of irrelevant. Yes, it’s technically possible in the sense that they can issue a command that blacklists your printer’s serial number.
@@Calamity-Spice The firmware allegedly has a hard coded 1 year timer that has to be renewed by either phoning home to the bambu servers or by the printer updating. Once the timer expires, allegedly, the printer will throw up a prompt for you to update and will not launch any print jobs until the printer is updated. Kinda like how HP printers lock up, to the point of not letting you scan documents, if you don't routinely purchase ink for them. The theory proposed on twitter is its a forced obsolescence tactic that was flying under the radar until this controversy came to light. Which has been something that's gained popularity within tech companies in the last 10 years, its not uncommon to see software AND hardware vendors turning off access to activation servers or access to cloud-dependent devices in order to force their customers to purchase the newer versions of said hardware/software.
@@TechnicallyaNomad I see the point that you said "Bambu can brick your printer", someone points out you are incorrect, and your response is "you are missing the point"? You lost me with your reasoning. Either you are saying something factual or you aren't, and if you mean something else then say something else.
@@reluttr2 Keyword "Allegedly"...I watched more videos that discounted this "theory". Can we stop the chicken little/I heard X nonsense now, and focus on facts?
Len, I did not use any support on the Spidermam web 3d print! The slicer suggested I added support but I was able to print it with no support at all!
Len, I had sent you an email indicating that I was not going to be able to dial in live on the TH-cam session. I was attending my 52 high school class reunion!
Thanks for your POV Len, but why is this necessary, why do we have to use Bambu Connect in LAN mode, it just duplicates all the AMS stuff that exists in Bambu Studio and Orca, it's just a piss poor workflow. Why spend so much time simplifying the printer hardware and create a new half baked layer to to print it. Bambu Studio of old and Orca, can send to print by LAN/WiFi on your personal network just as any peripheral attached to your computer be it a scanner, laser printer or input device...so why does this printer need to be hobbled this way. If you're within the Bambu EcoSystem fair enough they can make this seamless, but Bambu have been freeloading on open source software and hardware to get into this position, ripping and back porting feature sets from the Orca community developers, and what do they give back? This is a great move for them short term, but it gives every other 3D printer manufacturer playing catch up a better direction to go in and hit on BambuLab sales. This scenario is poorly managed and implemented by Bambu, and c'mon, have you heard what other devs, product upgrading companies have said about their interaction with Bambu... open your eyes, ears and noses something isn't smelling roses here.
We need some royalty free jams during the timelaps 😂
i think i'll just stick it in the SMEG haha
Does the video option available with the P1s also?
Len - you think the stickers are difficult to put on? Trying pulling one off the plate after they're adhered for a few minutes. Shouldn't be that difficult to remove one sticky to try another.
Are.. you sleepy?
When doing any of the calibrations in Orca, should you always use a Generic Filament profile? Seems a bit odd, since if you have used a filament before and have some values set and working, why wouldn't you load the existing profile for that filament and build on top of that? Seems like if you keep going back to the Generic profile, you'll never get it dialed in very well.
I started using these same 3 BQ parts since a week or two before you video. I would not recommend the Jetpack. The problems is the Jetpack wraps around the nozzle. To get it on or OFF it needs to come up from the bottom. This is a problem if it has a print under or is over the poop shoot. I have had two prints fail and the cover came off and knocked the print over. It is debatable if the standard cover would have. The other problem is I had a clog that I needed to get to the nozzle. the print auto paused, as it should. But the cover would not come off when over the poop shoot (home) and during a print you can't move the head. have no problem with the Extruder and Claw. But I would not recommend the Jetpack
I use an A1 and an A1 mini - the cameras are useless for real time print monitoring so I use a Raspberry Pi with usb cameras which give full HD 30fps streams on my wired network.
you can now choose textured plate on bambu slicer :)
In fusion when designing a symmetrical part its quicker to draw one side then mirror the other, not only that if it needs editing/adjusting you only need to edit one side and it's automatically mirrored for the other side. I'm no expert but it's one of the first tricks I learnt.
Why dont you buy a real skadis board? Cheaper and faster. Then print accessories
How times change , now 1 year later and Bambulab shit storm with forced firmware update to brick orcaslicer and similar things is real
Cool! I never got on board with the honeycomb...but I recently decided on Multiboard & Gridfinity. Skadis is cool too, and there are plenty of goodies for all the sytems...Cheers to getting organized!
Dude with the screws? lol
I enjoy CAD.
Great tutorial. Thanks
There are better options for screwing into wall without showing the ugly screw head. Cheers.
the screws showing like that are ugly... what i think you should do is have the screw counter sunk behind the grid on the block and have the block work similar to the grid joiners. this would be much cleaner
The notice came directly from bamboo. This is a trap.
Hi, HA is new to me. At the end, the progress bar (webhook?) magically showed up. How di you create it? Are those webhooks (based on icons). TYIA
As an Orca slicer user with other printers, that runs X1 Plus and upgraded the nozzles, this is the end of the road for my purchasing a bigger better Bambu, and will see me redirecting my efforts. I just don't want to export my 3mf files from Orca and open another app just to use my printer. Yes I knew this was a closed source proprietary printer when I bought it, but I have been allowed to use it one way, and now they are stopping me potentially, plus can force an update on me to use Bambu Studio ecosystem later, which I really never liked. You see sensible feature requests consistently being ignored, so it's time to call time on Bambu as good as it has been.
New Bambu Lab Firmware Update Adds Mandatory Authorization Control System
Downvoting as you really need to pin a clarification on how to avoid warping
If you're having bed adhesion issues try a cold plate
Does anyone have a link to a video that shows exactly how to clean these build plates?
