I know I'm four years late here, but I think this series is super cool and interesting! Conveying character in animation from the first person is something I find really fun and I've only seen a handful of games playing with that. Multiple vids giving Black Mesa that treatment? Hell to the yes. This episode really gives you the feeling of stumbling through a nightmarish haze. So much horrifying shit is happening all at once, and Gordon's mind isn't able to process much in the moment beyond "I need to get out of here, where is everyone, why can't I wake up, OH GOD IT'S ON MY HEAD GET IT OFF GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!!!" and he's probably not going to feel the creeping dread what comes with deeply understanding that most of the familiar names and faces he saw every day have been reduced from people to deceased bodies for some time. But I know he will eventually. I adore the fact that this goes out of its way to establish that the Black Mesa staff mean a lot to our friend Dr. Freeman... even if I admit that I find the black-and-white flashbacks a little bit cheesy. I love how Black Mesa, the fangame, has a ton of charming little character moments in the lab before it all goes to hell. It hurts thinking about how Oskar will never be able to try his goofy flirting jokes on Gina, how that one scientist will never make it to the local comic con, and how Gordon will never get to play poker with that guard. Gordon, in the games, is supposed to be a vessel for the player's feelings, so why not have him reflect my feelings of affection for the NPCs? It's not a depiction I see around much, probably because the actual HL1 in all of its Goldsrc glory wasn't suited to creating the most expressive characters (though it was pretty remarkable in its day!), so it's neat to see it here.

Playing through Blue Shift Source rn. One of the first games I played was Half life. I watched the Timer of BMS tick down to the demo, then saw its 1.0 release. As someone who does mapping in Hammer, this is a monumental task; and not something to scoff at. You got talent. And I cannot wait to see this done. If you host a BMRP, Id love to be apart of it.

cheaple is the true hero of half life

this was my first vr game and i was stunned. iam 38years old, but playing vr, made me feel like iam 14 again. i wasnt aware that i can stil feel so much awe after beeing exposed to game for 30 years now. and it was basically the only game i played. after i was done, my wife tried it. she a very anxious person that only ever tried beatsaber so far. she was afraid of the game. everything felt so real to her, that she was scare that anything could jump out at her, anytime. shes extremly afraid of beeing startled and thus, she was tense all the time while she played alex.. tense because she really thinks, that something might scare her so much, that her heart just stops and she dies. our dog picked up that enormous distress my wife was under and since then, you only need to pick up the headset and the dog is running amok, its obvious that the dog now connects the headset with something that one should be afraid of my wife stopped played vr for good due to this, because the dogs well beeing is very important to her and she wants me to stop too because training the dog to live with it, isnt easy for a 10 year old senior dog and to much hassle for her and she cant afford to loos sleep at night and the dog, reacts to stress with diarhea even during the night hours after the case. i hate the situation so much
