    Thanks for the video. The More was recommended to my 91-year-old Mom. The audiologist did not cover what level 1-2-3 would be best for her - but simply showed her the price difference. While she has an active lifestyle for 91 it is what I would call a quiet one. For her, would there be a real difference in her hearing experience between the different levels.? Or best to save some money and just buy the basic level? Thanks!

    I use an iPhone and iPad interchangeably all day long. I have Bluetooth problems when Bluetooth connectivity drops. Some times I find that the left hearing aid pairs with the phone and the right pairs with the iPad concurrently! I just have to switch off Bluetooth on one device so both hearing aids will pair with the device that I want to use. It is a pain in the ass.

    I’ve had IIC hearing aids for about 10 years and have moderate hearing loss. Fortunately my ears do not produce masses of wax! The best ones I’ve had are my current Phonak Titanium Paradise. I’ve tried Oticon IIC and although the fit was great, the sound was terrible with too much amplification on background noise (which I really don’t need) and my audiologist could not get them anywhere near as good as Phonak, which I’m on my third ones over a period of 10 years. They do not breakdown very often, the only problem I’ve had is the wax guard seal going too far into the hearing aid and they get sent off for repair and come back in about a week, Phonak are very efficient in my experience. I prefer invisible aids as I wear glasses. Hope this comment helps anyone out there 😊

      Hello, Is it Phonak Virto Titanium that you have? I just got Phonak Virto Titanium p70 iic and I'm returning it because it sucks in noisy environments (I work in a restaurant kitchen). I have 75 db hearing loss at high frequencies (2k-8k) in left ear while right ear is normal. I don't know if it is worth trying the p90 version of this hearing aid. Any recommendations?

    I just came across this video and it could have been written about me and my experiences with CIC invisible aids. I echo everything Emma said here apart from and being completely fair tech has moved on in the 2 or so years since the video was made. You can get rechargeable CICs now and there is connectivity between ears now, but technology has moved forward for other styles of aids too ... Massively so I had my CICs in 2018 ... First time needer. I was that vanity person too young and short to shaved hair I didn't want others to know I needed hearing aids. In 2018 I found them brilliant a god send ... I could hear again ... What I didn't know was how much better the alternatives would have been. Servicing ✅ Lack of functionality ✅ Limitations to the fit ✅ On Friday I went for a consultation with an independent hearing provider ... I walked out (after much research of my own) with Oticon Intents behind the ears .. released last month ... I like Emma said have got passed the vanity after realising I needed something that worked for me ... Not something I was just relieved no one could see which came with a number of restrictions. I will let you know how I get on when they have been used properly but for now .. apart from the usual fitting issues size of Dome etc they seem miles better than my CICs were ( when they used to work)

    I have an implant and my facts are from the implant center. A cochlear implant helps but in no way does it restore, replace or even emulate real hearing. 1 st problem. Even if you have a cochlear implant and you sit in a restoraunt you wont really hear more with the implant because it picks up all the noise around and it also sounds really bad. Those two conditions together make it hard to hear in restorant for most people with an implant. And tgroups.here's no way a cochlear implant helps in large groups. Implants are for deaf people. There's a whole movement, stop the cochear madness! 2 nd problem, pubs?! Forget it. Forget any place with many people being noisy. When you get an implant you have to take lip reading lessons as part of rehabilitation, just because it's clear you won't hear in many situations despite. 3-Cros, bicros same thing, it did not help me at all. It just picks "up pollution" and makes what you hear even more complicated to dicipher. It would be nice to get honest answers sometimes, instead of sugar coating everything. All these items, somewhat help, but they are not all solving solutions that are fun, cheap or easy to get used to or enjoy. I have an implant and this is what you'll hear on the activation day...there was no tears of joy, let me tell you. th-cam.com/video/SpKKYBkJ9Hw/w-d-xo.html

    I just started wearing the oticon real minirite this past monday 2/12/24. Absolutely life changing. I did not appreciate how bad my hearing had gotten. The worst part of it all was the mental exhaustion from straining to hear what was said. Also, I know that I was speaking very loud especially when on the phone. I do have one major concern and wondering if you have any suggestions. I am an amateur musician who plays the acoustic guitar. When I was playing my guitar throught the general setting on the app, the sound of the guitar was bizzare. It had a shimmering electronic effect on it. I called my audiologist who made some adjustments and told me to use the "my music" setting on the app. This took away the shimmering electronic effect, but the guitar still does not sound natural. It is very tinny with an emphasis on the treble register. I used the equalizer to boost the low end to the highest possible and reduced the high end all the way down. This helped a little, but the guitar still does not sound natural. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

    • @ValueHearing
      @ValueHearing 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @pjk. The MyMusic program is definitely the best starting point as that favours music over speech, unlike your General program. I find the MyMusic program good for general music listening, but requires fine tuning to sound better for those that play a musical instrument. The focus would be on adjusting the low frequencies of the hearing aid as the frequency range of an acoustic guitar is all <700 Hz. Your audiologist would have much more control to adjust the hearing aid than you have through the equialiser. I would suggest seeing your audiologist and bring your guitar with you. I would suggest adding a second MyMusic program specific to when you play guitar. Good luck.
