I just started wearing the oticon real minirite this past monday 2/12/24. Absolutely life changing. I did not appreciate how bad my hearing had gotten. The worst part of it all was the mental exhaustion from straining to hear what was said. Also, I know that I was speaking very loud especially when on the phone. I do have one major concern and wondering if you have any suggestions. I am an amateur musician who plays the acoustic guitar. When I was playing my guitar throught the general setting on the app, the sound of the guitar was bizzare. It had a shimmering electronic effect on it. I called my audiologist who made some adjustments and told me to use the "my music" setting on the app. This took away the shimmering electronic effect, but the guitar still does not sound natural. It is very tinny with an emphasis on the treble register. I used the equalizer to boost the low end to the highest possible and reduced the high end all the way down. This helped a little, but the guitar still does not sound natural. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

Hi @pjk. The MyMusic program is definitely the best starting point as that favours music over speech, unlike your General program. I find the MyMusic program good for general music listening, but requires fine tuning to sound better for those that play a musical instrument. The focus would be on adjusting the low frequencies of the hearing aid as the frequency range of an acoustic guitar is all

Great video! I had been wearing Opn1 for the past 5 years (which I love), how does the real 3 compare to the Opn1? I have a fairly flat mild-mod hearing loss

Hi, thanks for the video. I've been wearing Real 2's for a few days, my first hearing aids. Didn't realize what sounds I'd been missing! One issue I have is that some sounds, car door chime, microwave timer beep and more importantly my saxophone which I play daily have a pronounce warbly/underwater sound. I'm wondering if it's something to do with feedback cancellation, just guessing.

Thanks for your update! I have just one question: How many TV Adapters and ConnectClips can be connected to the Oticon Real?

What has the feedback been like on these for people who were fitted with a single aid only?

I have mild to moderate hearing loss. I’m looking for an iic hearing aide that is very discrete. Out of all the custom fit products available out there, are they any brands that work better than others in noisy environments? Thanks

Dear Doctor: Please help me out.
I live in Los Angeles area, and today I got a quote from a local audiologist for the Oticon Real 3 mRITE/mBTE for $4800 a pair. Upon returning home and did some online search for the price, I found the price is about $3200 a pair. I understand that the price depends on various factors, but could the "various factors" make a $1600 difference?
Am I being scammed? Could iot be the online quote does not include something that the $4800 do? In other words, is it normal for a quote from an audiologist to be higher than any price online? Thank you for your time.

I have a flat moderate hearing loss, i have Widex,.. i was given medium power receivers when i for the devices, but i had standard power in the past with my other devices ,.. am I supposed to have a medium power receiver?

Hi @kaylasmusic. Your audiologist would typically look at your audiogram to determine what receivers and domes/moulds to fit you with. Sometimes, a client might be on the cusp of choosing a less or more powerful receiver. Having a more powerful receiver can mean that there is more 'reserve gain' (so more room to adjust if you ever want more volume), and also can help prevent distortion (imagine trying to play music through a speaker - a more powerful speaker can sound better than a less powerful speaker). So there can be a number of reasons why your audiologist fit you with a moderate power instead of a standard power. If you have any concers, best to ask your audiologist.

@@ValueHearing Ya, I figured,… also, widex doesn’t make standard anymore,.. The medium is the lowest,.. also, would I be a 0 in length for the wires in Widex if I am in other manufacturers like ReSound and Phonak? I do like the 0 length though but just wanted to be sure

Does anyone from Value Hearing (Louai) answer the comments below? I don't see any responses from Value Hearing or are the questions answered privately?

Testing Oticon Real 1 with Cros transmitter at the moment. Not impressed at all: noise handling from the Cros transmitter just does not work. Will return them after the test.
