Because they're not original

No where in game is Fortissax gendered. Their sex is assumed but all ancient Dragons other than Placidusax are female. With them not specifying Fortissax’s gender it leaves it open to interpretation that she could be female. I think Fia/Fortissax and Godwyn both become more interesting characters if we look at their relationship as a romantic one. People do crazy things in the name of love!

It had a conclusion, it was just a bit of a cliff hanger for my “Remembering” video. The premise was that the order information is learned is sometimes more important than what that information is, I go through a few example of this, then I end with Miquella and the Gate of Divinity. I am inviting the audience to think about why it is important that we learn everything we do at what is ostensibly the last piece of information we will ever get in Elden Ring. Namely, why is it important that the final reward for Elden Ring is Miquella’s Memory?

That was my initial position as well but I considered that the Dark Moon is described as cold, its associated sorceries are that of ice and frost, and we can see cold fog emanating from it. The Elden Ring controls the nature of the world and requires a vessel, but Marika’s body dissipates in the Dark Moon ending. Without Ranni having her Empryean flesh where does the Elden Ring go? If it’s stored in the Dark Moon it’s embedded in Ice and Frost, and would bring a cold, dark age. Consider that Gowry is interested in an Order of Rot via raising Melania to Godhood, but how would that work? Her body is infected with Scarlet Rot, so if her body was the vessel for the Elden Ring then the Order it dictates should also be rotted. Meaning we can deduce that the properties of the Elden Ring’s vessel should dictate what Order looks like. but hey, that’s just how I see it ;)

@@JackisaMimic I interpreted it as a coldness similar to space, to be cold is simply to lack the energy required for your very molecules to well “shake” or chemistry wise, change even. The ice sorceries are symbolic of this as if we think of the outer gods or anything else of the such to be that very energy, the heat that changes the world around it, the age of stars would be the absence of gods and therefore “energy”also the voyage into doubt and loneliness was more of a gross mistranslation than anything, I don’t remember the exact details of the properly translated version but it was far less painful from what I read. I think Melania would have brought an age of rot not because of it being her affliction but because she was THE vessel of the outer god of rot or an extension of it, she could skip the gate of divinity phase to godhood because a being similar to the greater will itself lent her its power, regardless of what she does if her rot were to touch the elden ring the outer god would have dominion over it similar to the elden beast but I think in a more dominant position as it exists outside of her as well, also scarlet rot apparently has arcane properties (and now I realize the irony/intention of scaling scarlet rot or poison with arcane) so it can afflict anything that isn’t involved with fire, which just so happens to be anything related to the erdtree hence it’s distaste for fire. I think the age of stars would be a more accepting version of the age of compassion, as it will allow others the certainty of free will, and allow the undead to have some autonomy (unlike miquella who despite caring for all, really dislikes the undead) also I think it would be an age more about the study of stars and fate and once it’s time has passed would readily hand itself off into the next age. I also wouldn’t call ranni heartless, she seems to genuinely start caring for you similar to a mother who watches over her children but once you follow her and find her “mini doll” version she is in a much more human state ironically and has more of a fiery personality which I think is similar to the one she had before the night of black knives, she bonds and talks to the tarnished which ultimately I think convinces her of the tarnished’s more “consort like” aspects, I also think that, based on her dialogue should you betray her after getting the moonlight great-sword, she genuinely cares about the tarnished, as she feels greatly betrayed and hurt but still even then continues on as your empyrean as to not harm her entire plan, but she takes a more profesional approach seeing the tarnished less like her love and more of a “acquaintance” that happens to be the backbone of her entire plan, I think she is very much like miquella, as she longed for the feeling of love, but unlike miquella genuinely never felt nor experienced it I think it’s fair to compare the age of stars to the age of darkness in ds3, the world is decaying, rotting from the roots, the old order clinging to its flame for warmth, without ever realizing that because of said flame they ever experience the cold, without heat there can be no cold without cold there can be no heat, we experience everything in contrast to anything, we know warmth therefore we know cold because warmth IS, because of warmth in the game being quite similar to an addicting element we can’t live without it, The warmth that the champions who found the lord souls felt obligated them to extend that warmth to all, and clinged to the power, status, and comfort that it brought with it. What I found interesting is that the only lord soul without any connection to warmth or fire is the dark soul, found by the pygmies, the ancestors of humanity, who rather than give it to one ruler extended it to they’re entire species, changing the course of evolution for them into “true” humans, Miyazaki often depicts humans stemming from the colder aspects of the universe, and introduces an order, a flame, a warm embrace, as a changing element which forces the big players in his stories to chase it, gwyn was so afraid of what the world would look like without the first flame, so afraid of the cold, he lost his very godhood, humanity, and will all for the sake of preserving it.

Another thing not commented - the stake of Marika on the tutorial images have hands, but the in-game has broken arms, and later the women statues also are missing hands. Maybe it represents that she lost her agency?

The wind, blowing from west to east - i.e. from the direction where sun sets (dies) to the sunrise (sun birth). Is it symbolizing rebirth in the lands between?

I think these mistranslation have been exaggerated. I've seen the same videos you have (and I imagine this youtuber has too) and I fail to see how the message is completely lost between the translations. Sure the Japanese version makes things a little more straight forward. But when I got the age of stars ending for the first time, I interpreted it as an age of darkness and freedom; free from the light of the erdtree and the gods. A cold age where men are encompassed by the chilling dangers of the world but are granted the autonomy to navigate the "night" as they wish" I refuse to subscribe to the idea that the meticulous Miyazaki let such an oversight fall through the cracks such that the main ending of the game has an incorrect message due to simple amateur mistranslations.

They also mistranslated the word 黄金樹, which means "golden tree" into "Erdtree", which is not even a real compound word in english. Pretty egregious oversight on the part of Fromsoftware if you ask me.

Great pieces of art usually make sense on the second or third go around. So, I try to mimic that. Even if it’s not that good, at least the story I’m trying to tell actually has an ending 😂
