Giant’s Red Braid: “Every giant is red of hair, and Radagon was said to have despised his own red locks.” The statues are wearing hoods, hiding the color of his hair. Sword of Night and Flame:”Astrologers, who preceded the sorcerers, established themselves in mountaintops that nearly touched the sky, and considered the Fire Giants their neighbors.” The statues at the Church of Vows are holding flaming torches. Radagon’s Icon: “As the husband of Rennala of Caria, the red-haired Radagon studied sorcery, and as the husband of Queen Marika, he studied incantations. Thus did the hero aspire to be complete.” Radagon is very studious, as such some of the statues show him holding a book. Iron Greatsword: “Greatsword with a blade of unusually thick steel. A coarse weapon to which polishing is a foreign concept.” This is the weapon model that the statues hold and it is also the same sword that the red hair Misbegotten’s wield. A Red Hair Misbegotten is also where we get Radagon’s Golden Order Greatsword. Radagon is also described as a champion, thus a champion would wield a sword. The locations are also important: they are found in Golden Order and Erdtree locations as well as in Carian and Nox locations. Radagon is one of the few characters who has direct cross over between Erdtree culture and Carian culture. Radagon wasn’t always a Golden Order Fundamentalist, thus we can deduce that the statues of him in the Totality pose and his red hair present occurs after he reaches enlightenment. That being the case he must have had statues of him before that moment since he was the King Consort of the Lunar Queen and King Consort of the Eternal Queen. By order of elimination based on all of the statues we see in game these must be Radagon’s.
Also, if you hold the idea that Marika and Radagon have existed together since birth because they two are one Empyrean, it could be safe to assume that Marika would set up her other half as an important figure wherever they are.
Random info: The DLC is releasing on the full moon on the summer solstice. I just thought you would appreciate this info considering your passion for the Sun Realm and the eclipse thing.
Do you play elder scrolls? They have cool names for the days that I think are based on the stars, was wondering if you knew what that day would be called? I could be being ignorant and it's just an old way of telling time? But the names were always cool to me
I don't know how to explain it, but the section where you talk about Marika's tears, her statues and their pose, I had an idea. That Marika IS the Erdtree. Everything yearns to return to the Erdtree in burial, the law of Regression. Radagon has yet to "become" her, because he is yet to be buried in the roots. Her pose is that of a tree, her arms spread like branches, and her feet yet to touch the ground, but she is still connected through the "roots" draping around her feet. That is how she is eternal, for surely a tree that large must be considered timeless.
26:30 dude I love this. It's so noble and continues the idea of you the PC having your own will. I've left certain NPCs and bosses alive for just that reason. Thanks for the idea, I'm going to do this as well.
My belief on Melina is that she is simply a Demigod child of Radagon and Marika and like her siblings, she was afflicted with some curse from an outer god. In Melina's case, it was the Outer God representing Death. The only reason she isn't shown afflicted is because the Rune of Death was removed long before Melina's conception at the beginning of the Age of the Erdtree. However, once we unleash destined death, if Melina is alive during the Frenzied Flame ending, her body looks corpse-like. Her once golden eye looks lifeless, and she see seems somewhat possessed. Her curse affliction is present after Destined Death is unleashed, hence why she was so desperate in trying to burn herself away before we confront Maliketh. Radagon was not originally a part of Marika. I believe Radagon represents what Marika was prior to becoming God. Marika used deceit and manipulation in order to ascend to godhood by usurping the rulers before her time. We know she is implied to be cruel from many lore implications due to her conquering the Lands Between via slaughtering the Giants alongside Godfrey, sending Godfrey to conquer the regions in the Lands Between, sending Radagon to defeat the Carians, among other things. Radagon, I believe, was a man who desired more than what the world gave him. He hated his red locks. He used Rennala to attain higher intelligence through Glintstone Sorcery, used Marika to attain higher Faith through Erdtree Incantations, and collaborated with Miquella in creating fundamentalism. He clearly despised anything that fell outside of the Golden Order, as he made incantations specifically for killing Those Who Live in Death, and it's pretty likely given timeline implications that he might have convinced Marika to mistreat Omens, Albanaurics, and the like--but that's just speculation. Radagon is noted as "aspiring to become complete", so I believe all of his deeds as the "Champion of the Golden Order" was to make himself look like an ideal suitor for Marika once she banished Godfrey. Radagon used all of his achievements (neutralizing the Carians, bearing 3 powerful children with high affinity for sorcery, and crafting the Golden Order Greatsword) in order to become Elden Lord. But this wasn't enough. He aspired to become God. He gradually wore Marika down throughout their shared rule, and attempted to assimilate with her and the Elden Ring. We see him finally succeed in this by the time we confront him in the final arena. Funny thing is, I believe Radagon wanted all of this for the simple fact he didn't like his hair and what it was associated with... lol
Even if all your theories end up being wrong, you're an amazing storyteller with an amazing voice. I have listened to all your videos via Bluetooth earbuds while I work.
The narrative of radagon is one of the best I've ever heard. Him being his own character a mimic would explain an awful lot and is consistent with george rr Martins writing
But Blonde + Red doesn't = Purple-ish. Her hair should be far more Orange if this was simple combination, she would just be a Ginger. For your theory to stick, Marika would need to be a blue haired feminist 😆
If you think Melina’s hair is purple then you might be colorblind. I have RG colorblindness and I know that ain’t purple. You might wanna reconsider if all those feminists you interact with have blue hair
Melina is Ranni, Gloam Eyed Queen, Miquella, St Trina, the Outer Will, Marika, and Radagon. Ah... Fromsoft lore and the people who theorize, never change. I love the chaos of it all and how there are so many different interpretations in certain aspects of the lore. May chaos take the... Lore?!
i really like the beginning to this, mentioning the stone boats/coffins. i saw them and immediately thought they were boats. in the underground ruins (I think the grand cloister) there are engravings of people arriving on boats. i really like the idea that Marika and her people are not from from the land of the shadow, but settled there, and Marika went to the lands between after she became a god
Kind of boats, but made from stone and look at their form! Not for water. There was a flood of lava! Which I believe is the "blood" of the "one great" that the three finger lady mentions. In real life, some people of ancient mesopotamia people came from boats from an unknown source, I think you are right.
I never understand how a channel like this is so small, absolutely brilliant, the narration, the information, the connections, the story...breathtaking...thank you!!!
I, too, had my heart wrenched from my chest when Melina said "Thankyou for guiding me here. Goodbye" her goodbye was BRUTAL. I can feel that echoing in your desire to get an alternative out of the shadowrealm 😅 #savespiritmommy
Just had this cool thought. You know how there’s two missing heads on Placidusax? It has one male head and two female heads, with one male and one female head missing? What if those heads are Marika and Radagon? That would explain how they’re the same but different
I do think that Placidusax is similar to Marika and Radagon. I think I go over it in my Godwyn video about how, thanks to Zullie the Witch, that we know Pladdy’s heads are male and female. Also, is your profile picture David Bowie?
Thank you so much! This is my favorite video so far, I wanted to keep the story telling aspect of my Black Swordsman videos but condense it into a typical lore video. I happy that it all tied together for you!
Underlying this with quotes from characters and item descriptions is so key, it helps build familiarity with the far-reaching scope of the game's story. Awesome work!
I really believe that Melina’s mother will be somewhat eluded too; I always found it strange that she doesn’t know who her mother is but knows full well about Marika.
Yeah it's because she was born from the Erdtree just like she said. Melina is mirrored perfectly by Milicent. Milicent doesn't know who her mother is, but knows she was born from the Rot plant from Malenia's bloom in Caelid, and knows she is somehow from or a part of Malenia without ever having to met her. Milicent knows how to use waterfowl dance just the same as Malenia, without ever meeting her. Melina says she wasn't born of a mother but knows she is from Marika and somehow uses a full Erdtree miracle when fighting Morgott. This was a great video but Jack spent the entire video without mentioning Melina's parallel to Milicent makes me think he's barking up the wrong tree here. I do not subscribe to his theory that Radagon is a mimic, I share some of his findings but disagree with his conclusion.
She does know who her mother is. Why do you get the impression she doesn't? I'm not sure she ever outright says it, but she might as well have. She doesn't know the purpose of her existence, and she doesn't know what it means to be born of a mother, but she has a mother and was born at the foot of the erdtree. And it's Marika, likely using one of the many strange methods of reproduction without sex.
@@0987gggggMelina wearing the same clothes as Millicent and sharing her lack of memory, search for meaning, and choice of going her own way instead of the destiny she was cultivated for is probably the most important angle on their characters imo, yeah. Its the main reason I think Marika herself was the Gloam Eyed Queen. If Melina is her clone, what else could she have been?
My favorite fact is that you can both burn the erdtree and save Melina. Do it yourself, then kill placidusax and malenia, present the golden needle you get from killing Malenia to the thing you get after killing placidusax, boom, you've remove the power of the Frenzied Flame from yourself.
He said it himself in this video marika blessed her with her likeness/memories in the form of tears and told her to embark on a mission to help us and didn’t tell/show her anything else that’s why she’s searching for answers too
@@DoctorPecker no im legit, if it was echoes what Marika has said, then why Goldmask has a quest to know Marikas secret? Couldnt he just go and hear Marikas "echoes"?
I really enjoy your videos. Good work! Now, I know this is about Melina but I just can’t get over some frequently overlooked bits of Rennala. 1. Either Radagon/Marika attacked Liurnia prior to having the Elden Ring or Rennala, bereft of a Great Rune, is so powerful that she could fight a god bearing the ring to a stale mate. Or or, the attack was a farce. I do place the Trolls betraying the Fire Giants concurrent to Radagon’s time with Rennala. She invoked an old pact, offered protection if they would betray the others. 2. It may be possible that Radagon’s falling in love with Rennala was the result of her charming him as she did all of Rya Lucaria. The implications of that, well… 3. Ranni refers to Rennala as the Last Queen of Caria and others refer to her as the First Queen of Caria. Ranni’s journey requires freeing Destined Death. So either Ranni believes her mother will bare no more children, live forever, or the Carian Royal Family begins and ends at Rennala. 4. Rennala is asleep. At least, according to Ranni. 5. It could be argued that Rennala was fully aware of Radagon/Marika being as they are. Miquella’s abandonment of all things golden may have inspired Ranni’s course, she may have grown up with him as an older brother. Miquella may have learned his ability to compel others from Rennala. Or… Miquella is actually the one who made the Nightfolk and he sent Rennala to Liurnia. Or… ahhh
JACK! NOTE ABOUT THE ICON SHIELD! If you look really close you can see a single dark apple hanging from the tree on the Icon shield. It blends with the bark. ALSO: notice the Hip Bone shaped branches present in thr painting. I love finding mysterious things on the armor sets. Another weird one i found was a one eyed face on the greaves of The Gladiator armor
No, thank you! It’s really heartwarming that I can share what I think this story is trying to say and it resonate with others. I appreciate your kind words and support
Brilliant, Jack. Do you think there is some significance in Melina turning our runes to strength after asking what the principles we would follow are? So you think there’s some relationship between that and what the runes in the Elden ring look like? The values, aspirations and principles they would follow? Combined into the Elden ring? Masterpiece after masterpiece from you, Jack. You’re a bloody wizard! It’s a 10/10 from me(h)!!!
It appears that not only do runes affect its vessel, but the vessel also affects the runes. How else is it that our thoughts and morals being shared with Melina can empower our Tarnished? The Runes are being woven into our Tarnished the way we want them to be.
Since the Elden Ring was sent by the Greater Will originally, then I suppose its original state reflected the principles they followed to create and preserve order, but perhaps it's this very nature which in turn causes it to be susceptible to the wills of the beings that hold the Runes which make it up. This is what Goldmask's Mending Rune seeks to stop happening, so that nobody can change the Elden Ring ever again. If Runes contain some level of control over reality then this also explains why our "thoughts, desires and principles" are so important, and indeed, with Melina's power, we can choose to level up any stat and eventually become incredibly healthy, strong and smart just by their application.
I never thought about that way between radagon and Marika, it does have certain sens, will see if we learn more from Marika in the shadow of the erdtree
Wow that's a cool power, I don't see why a god wouldn't have control of weather. Maybe you can make sense of what's going on at storm caller church? There is a statue of Radagon there, but the area it's at seems like it's telling Godwyns story. My conclusion is Radagon is a Frankenstein godwyn, but I'd love to hear what others think
If I had to guess, I'd say Melina is Messmer's twin and Marika and Radagon's child. This set being cursed by fire-themed outer gods instead of life-related ones.
Crazy Melina’s tree incantation will be something we learn in the DLC from what I’m hearing. Which seems like really old magic kind of agreeing with this
Excellent video! I’ve had a suspicion about Melina being a projection of Marika way early in my first playthrough. I did abandon that though, when I saw she was “burned and bodyless” - I thought that alone made it so it couldn’t be Marika… Either way, I do believe she is an offspring of Marika. If the GEQ turns out to be someone other than Marika then that would be my guess. Fascinating video!
Man, youre cooking with this. Havent watched the whole thing yet, but ive always felt like Melina = Marikas soul that has been disconnected so long that she has amnesia.
Hey Jack, awesome video as always. Just a minor request, lower the music so that it doesn't obscure your narration, especially when using high octane tracks like Radagon's theme
Cool theory. I like how it directly contradicts so many of the assumptions this community clings to, esp wrt the timeline of Radagon's ascension. Keep up the good work.
Ok Jack, you've won me over on the 'Radagon is a mimic tear' theory, the statues you pointed out completely slipped under my radar. Thank you for this, I had thought I had seen it all after all this time. Also: I think Marika specifically took Radagon the Mimic Tear into her like we would have done the cut mimic tear content, so that SOMETHING could die and release the elden beast to fight and fall and it not be her that was lost. This is her long term plan, to bring a tarnished to kill her other self to make the Elden Beast appear and to have it die leaving Marika the Eternal free of outside influence and mightiest of all the Lands Between.
You and me are on the same wavelength with Marika's plan! Couldn't have said it better myself! I would also add, as I eluded in the video, but Radagon learns of this plan through Causality and Regression and is fully on board with playing the martyr for Marika's plan.
@@JackisaMimic It would be so helpful to have a solid timeline as to when those two miracles as concepts were enshrined. I feel that Radagon's incantations have more mysteries to reveal.
Tears would in this case mean drops of tree sap. The sap of certain types of trees have long been collected by people for building materials, food, medicine, and perfumes. Especially myrrh trees in regards to perfume, the dried out sap droplets have long been called tears.
@@andrew-rn9ui Right, Miquellas mimic tear. We have a spirit ash of a mimic tear, he had a real physical mimic tear that he was creating an elden lord out of so he could become a god. At least that is what is currently in my head cannon until the DLC comes out ;)
Godammit this lore is so good! Its like GRRM gave Miyazaki a block of perfect pure material and Miyazaki took of bits and parts of it and sculpted it into something beautiful.
Implying Melina needs saving goes against everything she wants. And she even expresses that she won’t let anyone speak ill of her purpose not even you when she talks to you after you meet Shabriri.
I don't speak ill of it, her cause is noble and just, but it doesn't work. None of our current endings are good, in my observations. The only way to heal the world, I think, is to reunite Melina with Marika.
"I have set my heart upon the world that I would have" "Splendid, be the next queen so you can actively assert your worldview instead of being used as fodder for someone else's" "NOOOOOO NO NO YOU'RE GOING AGAINST LE HECKIN WISHERINOS AAAAAHHHH"
Should've said, "Chasing Miquella's Butteflies" in that beginning part after the Grafted Scion. ;) Something I noticed a while back. Miquella was already moving the story along at this point!
I have said that in other videos but I am actually leaning to them being more of St Trina's butterflies and not Miquella's, that they may be different characters with different motives.
In the volcano manner where the ghost tells you where he stashed the weapon to defeat rykard is a picture that shows the tree burning! I wonder if the erdtree has been burned before and if so who did it?
I love this theory! Question, if Radagon is a mimic tear, then where is Marika? Where is her body? If Radagon is a mimic then that is not actually Marika hanging in that rune arc but just the mimic? Why is Radagon just hanging like that? Did Melina/Marika burn her body the same way Ranni did, to escape the control of the Greater Will?
There is a cut questline that was fully voiced that involves a mimic tear named Asimi, you can find people who restored the content on youtube. Mimic tears can be formless and turn to liquid, and in that quest we learn that mimic tears can house themselves in their hosts. The content was most likely not cut due to retcons due to how far into development the quest line was finished, so we can assume that the information within it is mostly accurate. So Radagon can be a Mimic of Marika who can have autonomy out in the world, but during the shattering of the Elden Ring is combined back into his host: Marika. We don't know all the mechanics of mimics yet but that seems the most likely to me.
@@JackisaMimic Well that’s the final piece of the puzzle! It makes everything make SO much more sense. You have def become my favorite Elden Ring channel after your last few videos. You have great insight into the clues they left us. I can’t wait to see your channel blow up and your DLC theories. Thanks for getting back to me 🙂.
I think that a lot of what you said about Radagon makes a lot of sense, just that a few pieces of the timeline I don't particularly agree with 100% I'm curious if Messmer's Flame is Capable of burning away the Thorns, though that would also beg the question of why Melina (who you're supposing to be Marika) wouldn't have a way to bring his flame to the Thorns? Perhaps traveling to the Lands of Shadow will allow us to get that Flame for ourselves? Because of all these Possibilities, I'm leaving my NG+ playthrough right after defeating the Fire Giant. I want to hear what Melina has to say when I travel to the Land of Shadow, will she even be there with us?
My theory is Melina is the fragment of Destined Death removed from the Rune and put into the Black Knives that slayed Demigod(s). For most of the game she has limited power, until you bring her to the foot of the Erdtree. Bringing her to the Tree lets you kill Morgott, and then after her purpose is served you can sacrifice her to burn the Erdtree. This is the fulfillment of both Miquella and Ranni's plans to supplant Marika. It also explains why the Blade of Calling has the same moveset as the Black Knife. Everything that happens after her sacrifice is explained by her being the Fragment. Killing mandatory boss Maliketh means that Melina becomes Death itself as we simultaenously return to the Lands Between with the power to kill Gods. Again, this fulfills both Miquella and Ranni's plans and this explains both of their connections to Melina.
This sounds completely random but what do you think of Hawkshaw's Colour Theory video? I just need some validation from peeps since its so awesome imo.
/readstitle Maaaaan..... this DLC taking foreeeever to come out, my creators are goin' nutters with these theories past week X'D Love the content as always. Wild theories are fun and you present em well, looking forward to watchin' the rest of this vid
Funny you bring up the Shield of the guilty as depicting Marika, I always thought it was describing the creation of a Finger Maiden. I just made a comment on A Human Justicar video.
This video was just WOW. I Still have an issue that is on my part : How Radagon's and Renalla's children can be demi-god if Radagon wasnt Marika yet ? Or am i missing something
If Radagon is a Mimic Tear of Marika then he is "always" Marika, but Male. He would have an X chromosome that is identical to Marika's, but his Y chromosome would have to come from somewhere else. Perhaps it came from the Giants, and their large stature and red hair.
I am beginning the think Radagon was the first, then he became a woman by the Greater Will, cause it needed someone strong to pump out more "tools" for its will to grow. Cause Marika doesn't really have any backstory before she vied for Godhood, she may not have existed till the Greater Will impacted the Lands Between. My theory is, all Blonde people in the LB, are space aliens!! Who hitched a ride with the Greater Will, and are just it's lackeys. That's why they genocide all the gingers and giants, they can't have the OG's hanging around when there's work to be done spreading their "Faith". Just like what happened to the Celtic people when Anglo Saxons showed up spreading Christianity.
Does anyone know when the golden order forms? When looking at the erdtree incantations and golden order incantations, I'm under the impression that Radagon created the golden order around the time of leaving Renalla, with the Erdtree Faithful being the order that formed with the erdtree, until the tree lost its blessings, which is what used to give Marika and her people immortality. But something messed the tree up and forced Marika to find a new way to be eternal by taking over Raya lucaria, who at this point, repelled the erdtree faithful 2 times. I think in order to keep order in the eyes of the greater will, Marika had to find a way to be in control of a force she could not defeat in combat. And after learning intelligence from Renalla, formed the golden order, which messed Renalla's head up, so she cant lead and keep order. But the glintstone kris, while disguised as a peace offering to leynell, has a blade in the shape of an ancient ritual, one that evokes the image of the black flame ritual, and the ability to not only kill a god, but the process of soul transposition. Some exmples of souls transposition are, creating a weapon from a soul, moving your soul to a new vessel, or simply crushing it in your hand for power.
It is the body of Radagon but the will of the Elden Beast, by my assessment. A vessel for Order with no spirit would have chance of free will, just a puppet for violence.
All of my footage is recorded at 1080p, I edit using Final Cut Pro and export using the video codec H.264. Happy that the quality is sufficient for people who need to watch at lower resolution!
Do you think Melina is blind in one eye from using the unalloyed gold? I watched another TH-camr equate Malenia's blindness to some of the concepts in Bloodborne. What does everyone think?
This is where I think it's Marika who is born at the foot of the Erdtree and she is referring to her mother. Ranni and Rennala's relationship paralleling what I think the relationship between Marika and her mother is. Both daughters becoming spirits to fulfill a goal set by their mothers.
In order: Maiden in Black - Demon's Souls Firelink Shrine - Dark Souls 3 Moonlight Butterfly - Dark Souls Beast Clergyman - Elden Ring Ludwig, The Accursed & Holy Blade - Bloodborne Elden Ring - Elden Ring The Final Battle - Elden Ring I guess I should add this to the description too!
Great video! Here's a stranger's take: Marika broke the Elden Ring. Baaad Marika. Radagon tried to fix it but couldn't so Marika is locked up and punished by the Greater Will. BUT not without a plan: the Greater Will impregnates, or maybe borrows some of her DNA, which is also Radagon's, and makes Melina to fix things up. And the reason she is vehemently against the Frenzied Flame.
I like this theory, well backed up and a lot of good points, however if Melina is Marika how could she return after you witness her face and body crumble in the Chaos ending
That is just the body of Marika, where Melina would be the spirit who can move autonomously. Spirits can have a physical presence in Elden Ring, as we see with many enemies and NPCs. The Elden Ring is also burned by Frenzy Flame in the Chaos ending, order has ceased to exist, so the rules of nature could have changed to allow for Melina to be able to give Destined Death
One of my favorite aspects of the story is how you ambiguous Marika's intentions are. Was she just a pawn for the Greater Will, or did she want to create her own order and rule forever? Was she power hungry or was she just being used? Did she shatter the Elden Ring out of grief for Godwyn or was it all part of a bigger plan? And the game gives us enough evidence to create convincing arguments for any of these theories.
Melina its the combination of radagon/marika as a complete being, a sole god...marika is the dominant being, so melina is marika daughter...she has brown hair cause red and blonde mixes in some kind of brown color....she born empyrean, cause its the scion of a single god, thats why she has a butterfly as Miquella and malenia...she. its the embodiment of the memories of marika, as malenia its the slave aspect of marika and miquella the intelligence of the queen eternal
I think souls and bodies are two different beings in this world. Souls can walk outside their bodies and bodies can walk around with their souls being apart of them. I think the biggest clue to this theory is Ranni and Godwynn. I believe she was Godynn's soul and Godwynn was her body. So I don't think its too hard to believe that Melina is Marika. The souls can travel around the world and interact while the body is stationary and slow. Also, its normal for some of these characters to change their names in this game to avoid suspicion much.
What if Radagon is/was some type of outer god shape shifter (and the Elden Beast?) and ousted Marika through that, took her place and/or burnt her body, and Marika is basically Melina? I have no idea. I've been thinking it lately. If Marika is giving you all these things to help you out -- yet we have Gideon Ofnir saying he's seen Marika's will -- what if he was seeing the Elden Beast / Radagon's will? Radagon has high hopes for us... It doesn't seem too out there.
I really enjoy elden ring theory vids, but could someone just make a video about what the elden ring even is? Its in the title, lets start with that yaknow? Great vid :)
It is some celestial object that when present on a planet starts to govern its metaphysics: it controls what defines life, death, up, and down. Imagine it is like the rule book to the planet, and if you control the rule book you can start rewriting it or removing pages, and by doing so you change what reality looks like. The channel Ontos99 has a great video on what the Elden Ring is, and I got over it in my Great Rune video and my Crucible video
I might have missed something but what is the evidence that the statues are of Radagon?
Giant’s Red Braid: “Every giant is red of hair, and Radagon was said to have despised his own red locks.”
The statues are wearing hoods, hiding the color of his hair.
Sword of Night and Flame:”Astrologers, who preceded the sorcerers, established themselves in mountaintops that nearly touched the sky, and considered the Fire Giants their neighbors.”
The statues at the Church of Vows are holding flaming torches.
Radagon’s Icon: “As the husband of Rennala of Caria, the red-haired Radagon studied sorcery, and as the husband of Queen Marika, he studied
incantations. Thus did the hero aspire to be complete.”
Radagon is very studious, as such some of the statues show him holding a book.
Iron Greatsword: “Greatsword with a blade of unusually thick steel.
A coarse weapon to which polishing is a foreign concept.”
This is the weapon model that the statues hold and it is also the same sword that the red hair Misbegotten’s wield.
Isn't there literally a spell that transforms the statues from marika to radagon?
That is Radagon in his Golden Order Totality pose, this was regarding to the hooded statues we find holding torches, swords, or a book.
Also, if you hold the idea that Marika and Radagon have existed together since birth because they two are one Empyrean, it could be safe to assume that Marika would set up her other half as an important figure wherever they are.
doesn't turtle pope tell you about Radagon statues or am I remembering this wrong?

Funny thing is, I believe Radagon wanted all of this for the simple fact he didn't like his hair and what it was associated with... lol
This is the first explanation for the Marika/Radagon duality that has made sense
Even if all your theories end up being wrong, you're an amazing storyteller with an amazing voice. I have listened to all your
videos via Bluetooth earbuds while I work.
Oh hell yeah thank you! Happy you find my videos enjoyable, thats what its all about!
The narrative of radagon is one of the best I've ever heard. Him being his own character a mimic would explain an awful lot and is consistent with george rr Martins writing
That makes me so happy to hear! Radagon is my favorite character in Elden Ring, I’m happy how I told his story resonated with you
Melina hair is the result of marikas blonde hair + radagon red hair 🤯🤯🤯
BOOOOOM! 🤯
But Blonde + Red doesn't = Purple-ish.
Her hair should be far more Orange if this was simple combination, she would just be a Ginger.
For your theory to stick, Marika would need to be a blue haired feminist 😆
@@ButcherGod I used to have blue hair. Does that make me Marika? Or just Melina’s mom?
If you think Melina’s hair is purple then you might be colorblind. I have RG colorblindness and I know that ain’t purple. You might wanna reconsider if all those feminists you interact with have blue hair
Melina is Ranni, Gloam Eyed Queen, Miquella, St Trina, the Outer Will, Marika, and Radagon. Ah... Fromsoft lore and the people who theorize, never change. I love the chaos of it all and how there are so many different interpretations in certain aspects of the lore. May chaos take the... Lore?!

May chaos take the lore!!! 🌳🔥👁️
i really like the beginning to this, mentioning the stone boats/coffins. i saw them and immediately thought they were boats. in the underground ruins (I think the grand cloister) there are engravings of people arriving on boats. i really like the idea that Marika and her people are not from from the land of the shadow, but settled there, and Marika went to the lands between after she became a god
Thank you very much! As long as I got somebody watching my videos Ill keep making them :P
I, too, had my heart wrenched from my chest when Melina said "Thankyou for guiding me here. Goodbye" her goodbye was BRUTAL.
I can feel that echoing in your desire to get an alternative out of the shadowrealm 😅

Ahh yes, who could forget the glom eyed queen
🌟🏆🌟 great video...speechless 😶 I believe was messed up and nothing was as seems
Just had this cool thought. You know how there’s two missing heads on Placidusax? It has one male head and two female heads, with one male and one female head missing? What if those heads are Marika and Radagon? That would explain how they’re the same but different
Cracked theory- placidusax has two heads and three missing heads. I am dumb
I do think that Placidusax is similar to Marika and Radagon. I think I go over it in my Godwyn video about how, thanks to Zullie the Witch, that we know Pladdy’s heads are male and female.
Also, is your profile picture David Bowie?
I love your videos, but this one is my favourite so far: the script, the montage, the music, the narrative... this is very very good 👏
Thank you so much!
Moonlight butterfly music @11:00 as you cut Ranni **chef's kiss** 🤌
Radagon was lore obsessed just like all of us huh, neat!
Wonderful work man, can't wait to see more from you after the DLC

I really believe that Melina’s mother will be somewhat eluded too; I always found it strange that she doesn’t know who her mother is but knows full well about Marika.
Alluded*
Could also tie in with the rumor that Melina is Miquella.
I have been gobbling your videos up for the past few weeks and this has to be the best one so far! Great work man your videos are insanely impressive.
How does Melina know what Marika told Radagon "let us be shattered" ? It looks to me that Melina has a big suspecious insight
She literally knows things that ONLY Marika would know.
He said it himself in this video marika blessed her with her likeness/memories in the form of tears and told her to embark on a mission to help us and didn’t tell/show her anything else that’s why she’s searching for answers too

The implications of that, well…

No one can put together the lore this coherently, nicely done
Melina, is Marika, is Radagon, is the Gloam-eyed Queen. Simple as.
I think Radagon is the manifestation of the outer god that's in charge of the golden order. Like how the giants got the god face on their stomachs.

I’ve had a suspicion about Melina being a projection of Marika way early in my first playthrough. I did abandon that though, when I saw she was “burned and bodyless” - I thought that alone made it so it couldn’t be Marika…
Either way, I do believe she is an offspring of Marika. If the GEQ turns out to be someone other than Marika then that would be my guess.
Fascinating video!
Man, youre cooking with this. Havent watched the whole thing yet, but ive always felt like Melina = Marikas soul that has been disconnected so long that she has amnesia.
He's not cooking anything
He described malakith as the gloam eyed queen's shadow then as marika's
In case it wasn't clear I was saying Marika is the GEQ
Melina is Messmer is The Gloam Eyed Queen imo. Great video and thanks for the content!
Hey Jack, awesome video as always. Just a minor request, lower the music so that it doesn't obscure your narration, especially when using high octane tracks like Radagon's theme
Forward this to every Elden ring lorehead NOW
Cool theory.
Tears are a refrence of tears of cheilios from one of tarnished archeologists videos, valuable sap crystalized but not yet amber
These are so entertaining! Thank you for the new video.
Great video man, very well done!
Finkle is Einhorn & Einhorn is Finkle 😅
Tears would in this case mean drops of tree sap. The sap of certain types of trees have long been collected by people for building materials, food, medicine, and perfumes. Especially myrrh trees in regards to perfume, the dried out sap droplets have long been called tears.
That’s what they literally are, but what do they symbolize? Nature doesn’t have symbolism, but stories do.
@@JackisaMimic That's a good point actually, I do think too literally sometimes.
St. Trina is a mimic tear... Calling it now.
A mimic tear of miquela maybe but st trina is quite literally miquela is the cut dialogue is correct
I feel like her mother might be the gloam eyed queen
she is prob mesmers twin
So....is it that Radagon is just being a test to the Tarnished to see if they are fit to the crown?
Jack do you think Mesmer has something to do with the thorn impaling marika in the erdtree
@@JackisaMimic She wishes for a change in the order which a lot of the endings accomplish so I would say her sacrifice works.

Should've said, "Chasing Miquella's Butteflies" in that beginning part after the Grafted Scion. ;)
Something I noticed a while back. Miquella was already moving the story along at this point!
I have said that in other videos but I am actually leaning to them being more of St Trina's butterflies and not Miquella's, that they may be different characters with different motives.

I think that a lot of what you said about Radagon makes a lot of sense, just that a few pieces of the timeline I don't particularly agree with 100%
I'm curious if Messmer's Flame is Capable of burning away the Thorns, though that would also beg the question of why Melina (who you're supposing to be Marika) wouldn't have a way to bring his flame to the Thorns? Perhaps traveling to the Lands of Shadow will allow us to get that Flame for ourselves?
Because of all these Possibilities, I'm leaving my NG+ playthrough right after defeating the Fire Giant. I want to hear what Melina has to say when I travel to the Land of Shadow, will she even be there with us?
the glom eyed queen? it's GLOAM my guy
Again, this fulfills both Miquella and Ranni's plans and this explains both of their connections to Melina.
love the speculation, keep it up

Great video! Always a plus when the creator is cute too 😁
Excellent theory, love the video
This video was just WOW. I Still have an issue that is on my part : How Radagon's and Renalla's children can be demi-god if Radagon wasnt Marika yet ? Or am i missing something
If Radagon is a Mimic Tear of Marika then he is "always" Marika, but Male. He would have an X chromosome that is identical to Marika's, but his Y chromosome would have to come from somewhere else. Perhaps it came from the Giants, and their large stature and red hair.
Marika: IM 3 PEOPLE NOW!!!
Radagon: sup
Melina: sup
Then why does Radagon fight us when we enter the tree? Just to test us before we slay the beast?
It is the body of Radagon but the will of the Elden Beast, by my assessment. A vessel for Order with no spirit would have chance of free will, just a puppet for violence.
What software do you use to edit and what upload settings? Your videos look so good in even low quality(I watch in 240p)
All of my footage is recorded at 1080p, I edit using Final Cut Pro and export using the video codec H.264. Happy that the quality is sufficient for people who need to watch at lower resolution!
I find it interesting that empyreans have a "shadow" and the erdtree itself has a "shadow", do they work in the same way?
I think I got it now, Melina is Marika, Radagon, Miquella, St. Trina, the Gloam-Eyed Queen, Griffith, and Aizen.
A Melina, é a Marika, que é o Radagon, e que é um Mímico: Lágrima Prateada.
Do you think Melina is blind in one eye from using the unalloyed gold? I watched another TH-camr equate Malenia's blindness to some of the concepts in Bloodborne. What does everyone think?
She said she born at the base of the tree if so, whatever Marika pulled out must have been a part of her. I don't think they are all the same people.
This is where I think it's Marika who is born at the foot of the Erdtree and she is referring to her mother. Ranni and Rennala's relationship paralleling what I think the relationship between Marika and her mother is.
Both daughters becoming spirits to fulfill a goal set by their mothers.
Have you ever considered everyone in the Lands Between is just Marika and she’s having a really intense roleplaying session with herself?
What music is this? Beautiful🥹 you’re getting so good at your own soundscapes behind your voice.
In order:
Maiden in Black - Demon's Souls
Firelink Shrine - Dark Souls 3
Moonlight Butterfly - Dark Souls
Beast Clergyman - Elden Ring
Ludwig, The Accursed & Holy Blade - Bloodborne
Elden Ring - Elden Ring
The Final Battle - Elden Ring
I guess I should add this to the description too!
Great video! Here's a stranger's take:
Marika broke the Elden Ring.
I have a new Elden Ring lore theory that everyone in the game is actually the same person
It looks like Melina's hair reflects gold, but is red
LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Gideon learned that after a Tarnished becomes Elden Lord they enter New Game+ and do it again, and again, and again. So who could say he was wrong?
I really enjoy elden ring theory vids, but could someone just make a video about what the elden ring even is? Its in the title, lets start with that yaknow? Great vid :)
It is some celestial object that when present on a planet starts to govern its metaphysics: it controls what defines life, death, up, and down. Imagine it is like the rule book to the planet, and if you control the rule book you can start rewriting it or removing pages, and by doing so you change what reality looks like.
The channel Ontos99 has a great video on what the Elden Ring is, and I got over it in my Great Rune video and my Crucible video
@@JackisaMimic thanks man!
