A thing I have noticed in fan cultures over the years is that people engage in literary analysis in very different ways, especially when the stories they are analyzing are purposefully obscure. Some are looking for the "Truth" of a fictional story, others are looking to analyze it from within a certain framework, and others are looking for flashes of insight about themselves and the world. It's legitimately hard for these different folks to talk to each other-they are essentially speaking different languages that share the same words.
One of the things I notice about many lore videos is that they recount / summarize. Many of these videos don't interpret or draw conclusions. They often don't use any lens for looking at these works. Who gets the most grief? The ones I can think of our folks like Jack or Tarnished Archaeologist. They do something different by using interpretive lenses. Meanwhile, many folks bring the most basic tools of literary analysis to the table. One of the most difficult aspects I found teaching literature was getting students to buy in on their not being one "right" answer. What mattered was the evidence and the analysis of that evidence. Many people are operating under the assumption that there is one right answer, like it's a test. I could go on.
In my very first video, titled “How to Understand Elden Ring Lore” I literally just explain how I create my theories, without any conclusions. I include a clip from GRRM saying, “Fans need to realize we are making this shit up.”
To me that's the mark of a truly genius piece of fiction, being able to intrigue people with so many different points of view. I do wish we could all find more common ground, I feel like I've learned so much more about the story of elden ring keeping an open mind about its analysis than simply sticking to the most popular or "logical" interpretations.
Bro you fully understand the message that Miyazaki is trying to push. The story of elden ring isn't a set of facts set in stone, the story is how the game makes you feel, personally. We are all the same tarnished, but we all feel it so different.
If people sharing their unique interpretations of Elden Ring means they're somehow hurting the community, then call me a masochist. May chaos take the world. Love your videos, Jack! Can't wait to hear about the Black Swordsman's journey through the Land of Shadow.
Thanks Tim! May chaos take the lore! People like you are the reason why the Black Swordsman has strength to keep pushing on! Don't let the haters get in your way either, have you consider that Miquella was that snake all along? Cant wait to see what you cook up in the DLC!
We in Jack’s community love your videos too, Timdiggity! Even the one with the saggy flappy floppy snake face! 🥴💜✨ Thanks for speaking out for our resident Mimic Lord!
THAT was incredible. Thank you for everything you’ve done for the community, and for all of the people you’ve brought together since you started. It’s been an honor watching your channel grow and evolve. I’m proud to call you a friend, and I can’t wait to see everything you have in store for us from here onwards. *-Memnoch the Devil*
I’m very grateful for all that you’ve done,Jack. For myself and the community at large. All you’ve done to inspire us and bring us together, too. The way you’ve shared your platform is healing and generous, kind and uplifting. It’s a beautiful and wondrous thing and I’m tremendously grateful. Thank you, Jack! For staying strong and bold, no matter how many people come for you in the comment sections, or their videos, or their chats. None of that matters in the face of all of the good you’ve shared with so many of us across the world. Thank you! I can’t wait to see what things you come up with next once we have has the opportunity to dive in and enjoy the DLC!! See you soon, my friend!
Dung Eater being taken to the Haligtree as a persecuted Crucible follower, and then committing his first defilements there before leaving (or being kicked out) to continue his spree makes excellent sense. Great and logical theory.
One of the things I learned in the two seconds of mass comm film school is that cinema can be portrayed as three stories --- the one the filmmaker sees in their head, the one they commit to the format of film or video, and the one the viewer sees in their head!! Nobody can be wrong when they make a theory, that's the whole game of theorizing!! If something makes you feel a certain way and influences the way you frame the world, it's real enough! It just takes a really legendary mimic who is very well researched in the obtuse lore of Elden Ring to be so confident in that while articulating it so well! You're one of the best ones Jack!! Not just within the Elden Ring lore youtuber space, but just in the way you confidently feel stuff about art while holding space for others to feel stuff about art! Like that layer of it beyond elden ring is pretty cool to behold! Also, hey cool song at the end 😎
I believe so hard that the player characer is Miquella. We can be any gender, so can they. The dew from the beginning is from their haligtree. Characters that never trust anyone like the all knowing, ranni, easily trust us. Rebirthed into our fallen tarnished body, torrent recognizes our SOUL! i promise i cant wait for this to be confirmed in the DLC.
Yes! My only doubts come from St Trina. I’m fully expecting the chick from the trailer to think she is Miquella reincarnated but finds out it is/ could be the player. Then of course she goes crazy, fights us, dies and we get her sweet armor.
Yep, look up AngelOfThePast video 2 years ago explains how this is possible. I've been wanting this to be true for 2 years, let's see what the DLC brings :)
@@PhillyPhilPhilI've enjoyed entertaining a slight variant of this, except we aren't Miquella. We're his Silver Tear. Infused with his Sacremental Blood. Housing his fate's slumbering soul. After hearing it outloud for the 953rd time, it doesn't sound as fascinating as it used too 😂
Ahhhh that’s sick. Did you see that video about the Japanese lore theory, the one about being a demigod reborn? You can hear mausoleum bells in the intro, kinda interesting to consider
@@me-re8xm I did watch that video. I thought it was cool, and can vibe with this interpretation as well. The only issue I had with the mausoleum rebirth video is that we are told to cross the fog into the lands between and then we appear somewhere, not a mausoleum. Where the light of grace touches us and then we become conscious. But of course, this is nitpicky. The bells and imagery and cohesiveness of the theory are compelling indeed.
This guy gets it!! Much like how it’s very hard to get a theory “right”, it’s very hard to get a theory “wrong”; and we shouldn’t focus so much on objective truth
No other games invoke THIS MUCH conversation and debate. The parts that are left up to our interpretation are there to invoke such feelings and debate. That's why these games are soooo good. It brings us together.
Jack, despite the fact that I’ve disagreed with many of your interpretations, your videos are still some of my absolute favorites. Your enthusiasm for the story of Elden Ring is infectious and you have presented some seriously cool and original ideas and compelling theories, particularly in regard to Miquella. Keep at it, brother! Can’t wait to see what you cook up once this DLC finally comes out.
I don't always agree with your takes Jack but I really appreciate your perspective and how you've shared it with us in an entertaining way. Elden Ring has been my favorite game of all time and I've consumed hours and hours of lore. I'm so happy to have you as part of the lore community and I always look forward to your next take. Wishing for your continued success and growth. Happy Father's day too man.
Why is the Temple of anticipation called so? Who is the golden knight statue inside the temple? What were they anticipating? I believe the statue is Godwyn the golden and we know Miquella was anticipating Godwyn's return after a failed attempt to summon an eclipse. Maybe Miquella did cause Godwyn to return but not in the way he hoped to. Maybe our character is Godwyn reborn or related to the character somehow.
I got a coupla crackpot theories for ya. The girl with the 3 wolves in Farum Azula is The Gloam Eyed Queen and what would later become the shadows "gifted" to the emperians by The Greater Will. The placement of the statue, Maliketh being there containing destined death and the eye coloration shared by the shadows and Melina during the frenzied flame ending point me in that direction. Yura's questline is why we have sewer Mohg as it would naturally follow that Frenzy would be attracted to the pain, suffering and sorrow caused by the sheer amount of blood-letting being done. Just look at everything that comes from the Land of Reeds, that place is probably the Sekiro verse and that was hell imo.
During my first playthrough, I thought that Marika was going to be the final boss and that she was going to be a giant ant, because I learned she was a numen and the ants of deeproot depths held numen runes 😂 always blaze your own path, another good one Jack 🍻
I think that the shadow realm was the original realm. And Marika had to sacrifice all those bodies like in full metal alchemist making a philosophers stone (or erdtree, equivalent exchange) & she created a new order by locking away all the stuff she doesn’t want in a huge huge ebergaol. However these beings still try to get out so it needs someone to rule over it who has indulged in as much power as they can get - messmer. Miquella knows their current form by virtue of being touched by the order )or born by it) had to be discarded. In the same vein as ranni. There can be no true rebirth without death. Malenia has the rot, miquella, the growth & have the best chance to win this particular game of thrones
Just as Arthur C. Clark once said, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." They may sometimes be difficult to tell apart (but it's often all love)
"Miquella is the Timeless Child from Doctor Who CONFIRMED!!!!???" There's no doubt that many fans of this story wouldn't have been able to enjoy it as much without seeing other people's opinions and discussing them. Even if I don't agree with all the theories I see, especially when I think they've got facts blatantly wrong, it is still fun to watch/read them and I don't necessarily wish that the creator never tried to make it. I was thinking yesterday about how strange it is that we can see Farum Azula from only one spot outside of it in the Lands Between - the lost Divine Tower that holds part of the power of Malenia's Great Rune. If we could collect and power up Miquella's one as well, then it would probably be done here (If Miquella's Rune is the Great Rune of the Unborn then it already starts at full power). I speculate this is supposed to represent how the two siblings are the only Demigods who knew about Farum Azula's current existence, and thus may also have discovered the ability to twist time using the Dragonlord's scales. Perhaps Miquella does indeed have a time machine!
That must've been a hell of a homecoming for Godfrey. The erdtree burning, roundtable hold in ruins, his crucible knights all but eradicated. Makes me wonder if he would've come after the tarnished directly if Serosh wasn't keeping him in check. PS I too wish to visit Blackguard Boggart's crazy house of prawn in the dlc lol
Imagine Hoarah Loux as a pursuer boss that slowly stalks you across The Lands Between. Fast travel wrong and he spawns in right next to you, music blasting.
They could both represent aspects of the Crucible in different ways, same as the Misbegotten who also share animal traits. The Deathbirds are from a time before the Erdtree so they almost certainly co-existed with the Crucible era.
Nice Video, My theory is that Godwin was a cursed god, cursed with death, Marika wanted him to die so that he could be reborn as a god of Death powerfull enough to kill the greater will or at least the elden beast. This makes sense if you notice that the other demogods are cursed and Malenia needs to die to be reborn into something consider superior. The ritual of Godwin was interrupted by Rani because she didnt want Marika to get away with her plan and get all of the power. Angry for this Marika decided to destroy the elden ring and be like: "So you want the power from me ungrateful kids, fine, here take it and make it all yours if you think you can". I am taking about the shattering war, a cursed of a bethrayed mother to her children.
You have quickly become my favourite souls lore creator. Always excited to see your next creation. You get it. There is no 'true' complete plot to elden ring miyazaki makes sure to remove just enough to ensure that. Ignore the haters who grip too tightly to their own golden order. I cannot wait to follow the black armored knight into the shadow of the erdtree where we will all find or become a common or garden miquella. You rock!
I have one I think is new. Someone may have thought of this already but I am unsure. When you mentioned Dung Eater and the Haligtree it made me think of it. I think the royal revenants and spirit callers are the beings cursed by dung eater. They have the same spirit calling as the omen, which is a connection to the omen/crucible and dung eater has "omen horns" on his armor that appear to be removed. The revenants often, not always, seem to appear close by to the victims of Dung Eater that have a seedbed curse. If you feel like it, let me know your thoughts!
That's very interesting. I though of that but I think that the Revenants, more than being cursed souls themselves, they are just using them for teletransportation and as a weapon. Maybe they are close to the Omens to get those spirits while they sleep. In the boss fight against the Fell Twins in the bridge to the Divine Tower of East Altus, you are surrounded by blackness/void. I believe that's where the souls of the defiled bodies by The Dung Eater go (I hear that somewhere and it makes sense to me).
@@puzzleheaded6195 I'm an Optician, so noticing things about people's Eyes is something I trained for. I realized his Eye wasn't like any others in the game, and I remembered Zulie's video on eyes, then I booted up the game and Happened to get Marika's Scarseal on my DLC Prep character.
@@TheUnKnowNKazadiel Good eye hehe Spoiler Warning ⚠️ not only does it look like an eye but it is in fact a Seal as well which implies the ones we find in TLB might not have belonged to Marika/Radagon themselves either and used for a similar purpose to someone or something
I love the truly unapologetic attitude you present in the beginning. I get that a lot but it's nice to see someone who's okay with having some faith in what they understand, and the choice to be okay with the differences
I think Timdiggity made this connection as well, but The Gloam Eyed Queen is a snake. In the customizations you can get a tattoo of the Beast Eye Sigil. At first glance it’s just an eye, but a deeper inspection, an image of a crowned scaled snake appears
Welp, one day the Law of Regression will converge on this magical experience HARD. When it does, great content creators like yourself will absolutely be deserving of blame, having created such strong pull between so many meanings. One day, but certainly not today.. and most definitely not this Friday.
No one's videos have been as enjoyable as yours, the insights you have provided appear rooted into what is really going on, I cannot explain it, you sound correct.
The sleep chests being portals used by one of Miquellas alters, St.Trina. My theory is that an unknown number of the main possess are the "flesh" that Miquella discarded when he entered the realm of shadow.
Lol thought it was purely a joke, and then you got real. Theory is the best part of the story telling style. It's so fun right now even if I have windmills stuck in my head now.
Tbh I'm thankful that elden ring has brought many lore enthusiasts into elden ring that were not around during the souls series. People like you, Tarnished Archeologist, Crunchy, GamerPlus The alchemist and Tim Diggity have done a great job of putting your own stamp on the lore rather than just reading the items and putting together what sounds like a wikipedia copypaste while playing it safely without delving deep into their own lore theories. Please keep doing what you do.
Hey Jack ❤ I heard of you from AHumanJusticar video I was recommended by chance by youtube, and I am very happy for that as both of you are such insightful and talented people who make great content. I've only watched a video each from both of you and I am already in love. I haven't been unfortunate enough to have any people brutally detracting my tbh fringe theories in my videos (just my voice 😂), it's been mostly on REDDIT I've run into that type of thing 😅 It is silly though.. some people seem to think we can swallow Elden Ring like a penguin but the game is SO vast and SO intricate that's always gonna be biting off more than one can chew- but TOGETHAAAAA we can devour the very lore. Half of the fun making videos are the commenters some of who's posts feel like they are prying open my third eye 😂 Keep going, toxicity be damned. See you on cloud 9 when the DLC drops 😁
Oh you know what my friend Kate recommended me your video about the Horcrux infusion video! I haven't watched it all yet but I was saying to her that on the face I believe the theory. Miyazaki for one is a MASSIVE Harry Potter fan, The Dukes Archives and Raya Lucaria are practically Hogwarts (and he has confirmed he loves Harry Potter). It reminded me of my Great Rune theory, and much of Centered Tarnished's ideas, that the Great Runes are "a part" of Marika, much like the horcrux's that keep Voldemort alive, but I didnt actually make that connection. Looking forward to finishing that video before the DLC, and looking forward to whatever you share next!
@@JackisaMimic Oo this is the second time the wonderful Kate/k8 has been brought up 👀 Whoever she is I couldn't thank her enough, that's so kind ♡ Does she have a yt channel or something I can check out? I always thought the dukes archives were giving hogwarts moving stairs 😂 knowing miyazaki is a HP fanboy explains so much hahaha Thanks man I really appreciate it. The video I did before it on the nameless eternal cities inhabitants was another 45min one so after those two I am almost totally burned out 😂 IDK how you do it... Probably going to make a few shorter ones next 😅
These people that laughed at you and called you names aren't here for the fun of the speculation. They are here to be right. I love every channel. Bc I'm like you, I love how this piece of art embodies what art truly is: something unique to everyone. Much love bro.
There are only three instances in game of something transforming into different people right before our eyes in Elden Ring: the Mimic Tear, the Stray Mimic Tear, and Marika/Radagon To make it really fun I say Marika is a Silver Tear Mimicking the Gloam Eyed Queen, because why not
@@JackisaMimic The way she is like cracked stone when her body is weakened, the way the shaman parallel the albinaurics, the divesting, the grafting, the shape shifting. The gloam eyed Queen was more than likely another personality like Radagon and was the first dominant. And she told Radagon he is yet to be her as if she knew he was the next stage in their weird alchemical makeup. All of her children with Radagon are pieces of her. She is imbued with the Elden ring the way Seluvis wants to imbue that ranni doll with the amber shard. The most absent character in the game is with us virtually all the time 🤣
So grateful for your work and the community you've built and supported! You should be really proud of this channel. To take criticism and turn that into strength is the stuff of champions!❤
I actually think I agree with the Messmer being Godwyn's twin theory. Twins seem to be common among Marika's offspring: Miquella and Malenia, Morgott and Mohg, possibly Radahn and Rykard as some suspect Ranni is a plant, like a cuckoo bird. It makes it likely that Godwyn, Marika's firstborn is a twin to Messmer, one of Marika's oldest children
Aye I think it’s really possible that the tarnished is an unwanted child of Marika and in the beginning of the game that’s where they are being resurrected in the big walking bell moseliums
One could argue that the lore of elden ring has been made obscure, to encourage the community to engage in debate, thus increasing the hype of the game. It all goes full circle. The haters are boosting the sales 🎉 Personally, I just get excited whenever a new TH-camr with a different theory pops up. Helps bring freshness to a 2 year old game. Keep up the good work.
I wish you would have leaned into the time warping aspect of dragon scales/storms and the quest of Miquella and his needles function in inhibiting the influence of outer gods/fate. The fact that another Malaketh is also in Farum Azula heavily implies some aspect of time travel when we get there. DS3 and DS2 delved into how the Flame distorts time and space to facilitate the journey of the undead so we can link the fire and help preserve it. This explains the convoluted nature of the maps and timelines of cultures and characters. I’m sure something similar is happening here. Even when Plasidusax teleports he may be using some sort of time/space manipulation that are linked.
Oh I do, just not necessarily in this video. NG+ always gives my Tarnished a bit of dejavu, like he's already been here before. Check out the Black Swordsman Saga on my channel for more!
I find It Interesting that all of Marika's cursed children names start with the same letter of their mother's name - Messmer - Melina - Morgott - Mohg - Miquella - Melania
There are so many ways to look at Elden Ring, my theories tend to contrast when I take a different perspective. Either way, so much is relatable to real life ideas, philosophies, and experiences. Elden Ring sometimes feels like one giant Koan, as well as a great alchemical work. I love all the theories, but in the end it usually has me thinking deeply about my own experience in the universe. I Love your vids! Thanks for all the work. I've been carrying a big ol guts sword around fighting demons all the time, so it's nice to have DLC to look forward to and it's amazing that so many people are sharing in the admiration for this game. but my intuition seems to think we are probably mimics or silvery puppets, and miquella, with his long and treacherous plot, may have figured out how to guide certain spirits through death via dream
Some Red Lion General conspiracy theories: About the mechanism of how the stars stopped, for me it'd be Radahn's fate, let me explain: the fate of the Carian Royals is guided by the stars, and we know thanks to both Ranni and Miquella that the only way to get rid of ones own fate is the death of the body, from this we can infer that Radahn's destiny is to arrest the stars themselves until the time of his death. Furthermore, Radahn knows it, he likely swore an oath of honorable death, his men organize the festival of combat that celebrates his death, and lastly he's the only demigod who doesn't gain the title of Lord or God, he won't inherit anything. The reason I think this way is because of the Elden Lord endings, we know the Greater Will is against the burning of the Erdtree and it obviously doesn't want it's god to get killed, but it has us do both of these things for the normal endings, it seems even the God of Order can accept contradictory actions if they conclude with it taking the W in the end. The second after Radahn's defeat we see the falling star hit the earth. We know the time of Radahn's conquest of the stars was when he was quite young (Starscourge Greatsword), this was likely during the height of Golden Order rule. Who's to say that if a literal plot contrivance just opened a direct path to Nokron the Golden ones wouldn't form a band of executioners and send them underground to light up the place. The Sword Monument close to the Impassable Greatbridge tells us Radahn alone held Sellia secure, his swords are the single most effective weapon against gravity beasts, Remembrance of the Naturalborn states this Fallingstar was sent to destroy an Eternal City, probably one of the Greater Will's machinations. Sellia itself is home to sorcerers who have a connection with the Eternal, and it's a place for the study of invisibility magic, which reminds me of the Black Knives and the plot against the gods. Morgott calls Radahn a traitor, and we see them fight in the intro, which means the Redmanes sieged Leyndell. Radahn not being the Golden Order's strongest soldier would explain the fact that there's an Abductor Virgin in Redmane Castle, and another outside in Caelid, and the fact that Rykard has a portrait of Radahn in the drawing room at the Volcano Manor. Also Jerren tells us Iji forged swords resistant to the rot for Radahn's army. But the main reason for Radahn being a traitor is the fact that the Eccentric's Hood states that Jerren and Radahn swore an oath of honorable death to one another, which goes against a basic principle of Order.
The Elden Ring lore community is going insane, confirmed. I love every minute of it. Lets hope that the DLC will bring answers some of our questions while offering us new ones.
honestly I LOVE your thoughts & view points on the game it is really refreshing & how the hell is someone gonna tell you that your wrong over something that is clearly made to be open to interpretation & subjective. What ranni said was so true how the hell would we know who is a liar or not anyway?
I firmly believe that GRRM wrote something very very similar to “A World of Ice and Fire” for FROM. IIRC it was said he wrote a world for them to go on to destroy. So, considering his worldbuilding from the aforementioned book, it leads me to believe that somewhere there is a very concise storyline of Elden Ring and the Lands Between. Miyazaki and co. just deconstructed it and left it vague as is their wont. So, having said that, I am inclined to think that lore interpretation pre shattering is less possible than post shattering. Considering the destruction of the world was most definitely the shattering.
There is a 100% a complete and consistent story and history that exists for Elden Ring, but that information will not be confirmed in game. At no point will we be able to all come together and agree that “this is everything that accurately happened in this fictional story”. And there’s nothing wrong with that! By working together we can all build the pieces that creates the full picture for us, and that satisfies us individually. Much like real life, we will never know what the purpose of Stonehenge was
Comment on mine please (I think i said ELDEN RING is really the beginning and Ds3 is really the end at worlds end because if you look at the opening art for Ds3 and ELDEN RING the difference is in the sky the circle and ELDEN aka the lands between the circles intertwine and some of the same beasts are from Ds3 so is this laziness or links to a whole story?)
Well, with dlc spoilers starting to come out, I think it’s time for me to get off TH-cam until I’ve finished it. Just wanted to stop by before I did and say that I love your videos dude! The way you approach the lore has completely changed the way I look at the story. I’m pretty slow when it comes to playing through games, so it might be a while before I come back to the app, but when I’m finished I look forward to seeing what you come out with next!🙃
The best stories are the ones we tell ourselves... Having said that, I do believe there is a coherent chain of events that describe this world well. There are many excellent lore enthusiast like Jack making huge dents on some of the mysteries of the "Lands Between". Just remember I told ya'll we're Miquella :P
In response to the one who sometime doesnt always believe in your theory, (sometime it's also me) I think it's all okay! Sure sometime i also think that your theory goes to a whole new route, but i would still like to hear it, that's the point of the lore discussion! We are all having fun speculating because the lore is unclear for on purpose Some of your theory is really compelling, but some are not, and again that's fine If I have any feedback on your delivery, is whenever you think you are still on a gray zone of a conclusion, maybe tell the audience if it's still not set on stone (I've seen many times people connecting item A and B lore, because their theories supports that connection, but in fact, it can be misleading further if some connection of items are wrong somewhere) But again still, maybe that's also fine, we really need someone out there who is brave enough to tell a story and make a speculation with confidence, hearing all of it, is fun Furthermore with your insight of GRRM writings, surely theres some patterns that people might overlooked Great work man, keep it up!
Thank you! I am glad you understand the point, you dont have to believe everything I say, I am just happy to share what it is and for people to listen. Believe all of it, believe none of it, I am thankful that you listened. I do try to stay consistent though and am open to having my mind changed if the evidence is compelling enough to me.
Grace Mimics also do not have the roots growing under them like Grace that we can rest at. The only other Grace that does not have those roots is the Table of Lost Grace. Very interesting.
@@JackisaMimic I made a Miraboard mind map showing the shape connections (among other things) in some of the runes and the grace mimic and miquellas needle. What’s with the four round objects at the “top” of the needle? Miquella’s needle looks more like the rune of death than the Grace mimic does and it has the “roots” sticking out on the sides. Of course they are metal but they look like leaves.
Someone can disagree with your (or anyone's) theories. I know I do, although I still appreciate your videos and how you tell your story! But how on Earth does that grant being insulted, laughed at or called harmful?! That's the harmful thing to do, in my opinion. Not only is the aggression towards you uncalled for, but it creates an environment that silences people in the community with their own ideas, stories and feelings about it all.
The comment about the Boggart Seafood Resturaunt is literally so FUCKED. WHAT A PREDICTION. Moore is exactly like Boggart, literally to the bitter end, just slightly more reserved. From descriptions, it seems very reasonable to say that Boggart is a variation of the actual literal Pests, given such thick armor to protect his thin body. He breathes like them too. We absolutely do procure ingredients for him, and from him, and then he gives us the Black Syrup, which seems like it might not be TOTALLY UNRELATED to Godwyn, at the very least. And the "Finely Prepared Dish" doesn't miss the mark on the hornsent scorpion stew. If you consider that scorpions, shrimp, centipedes, crabs, and other many-legged large invertebrates are all pretty morphologically similar, it's really fucking funny how right this total left field prediction was. We bring shrimp to a shrimp wearing heavy armor so that he can give us better shrimp but also they're making shrimp fried rice just down the road
Heeeey KiteTales converged with Kosmos on the Rada Rizzler theory. Hilarious! Anyway, I see we're getting closer to the unveiling of the mimic... Mhm, it cometh!
I like that future Elden Ring theory, time do be freaky up in dragon town. Imagine the ring started as a simple circle and just gets more and more messy as stuff gets added, like black MIDI lmao Hourah Zouxmies at the start 😂 Anyway, I'm working on a bingo card of the 25 (24 + free space) theories/reveals I'm expecting to be confirmed/implied in the DLC. Because I like to gamble, it's mostly full of crackpot longshots haha 😅 I'm not posting mine anywhere because I'm just doing it for my own enjoyment/personal satisfaction on maybe getting some predictions right, but I thought it'd be a fun game for the community to play on social media and make their own personal bingo cards too!
dude don't let the angry commenters get to you. personally i love your wild takes on the lore and every video i watch is delicious food for thought. all perspectives are good perspectives. and at the end of the day nothing is set in stone. to discourage theorycrafting is a major disservice to the community so ignore the naysayers... "make a video apologizing for everything you got wrong" jesus christ give me a break, what a bunch of losers. its only a game and anyone who gets legit mad over a take on the lore they don't agree with should go play in traffic.
Its crazy how this piece of art is gatekept by certain individuals. The beauty of this games lore is it forces you to think and fill in the gaps. It can be interpreted in different ways. Yes certain things are said plainly but it forces you to use your imagination to connect the dots. love watching videos on all the different prespectives to help shape my own thoughts on it. Wonderul point at 5:00 on.
I have learned a lot about various different cultures, myths, and belief systems just from trying to understand Elden Ring. That is what makes Elden Ring a pivotal piece of art, not only does it bring people together but it has created an ecosystem of people actively and eagerly engaging in learning about the world, our own human history, and about each other.
bro, we love your vids, exploring new points of view in the story is thrilling for me, Being wrong? why not? No one can claim they are truely right,🙂↕️keep the good content ❤, love or hate embrace it all.
For me the Lands between is a fitting name from my perspective it is the lands between the stars (entities , cosmic powers and god concepts) and The crucible of life so for me The lands between is the result of God deciding to get directly involved with their creations life is a very delicate thing ,easily broken and corrupted. I just can't help but wonder if the formless mother and similar entities try to gain our favor knowing that it will be ultimately leading to our demise because i can't find other meanings other than that. If that is the case then we're truly all from their likeness.
So true
Well said
One of the things I notice about many lore videos is that they recount / summarize.
Just like mimics who can all shape themselves
YES 🎉
Yes, surely this is the Lore that young Rennala gazed upon.
getting my character to 150 by helping people fight mohg… everyone is gunna be ready for the dlc whether they like it or not!
RADAHN IS THE FINAL BOSS OF THE DLC WITH MIQUELLA.
Thanks for speaking out for our resident Mimic Lord!
Hey prismo
Go home, T--r
Last one I'll need, huh? With five days left, that's a hard fuckin' sell jack.
...fact. lol, im watching way too many Elden Ring videos on youtube
Jack, thank you for allowing and encouraging people to think for themselves 🙌 The Godfrey's time-travel story 🤣🤣🤣
I’m here for that incredibly gorgeous rendition of Windmills that Kate and Rivu made!! I need them to hurry up and release their first album now 🥰
😍 thaaaaaanks Kite!!
Thaaaank you, Kite!!! Don’t forget Tyler though! He was the baritone male echo!! Rivu did the gorgeous tenors and the music and it’s so cool!!💜✨💜✨💜✨
Wait! That remix was RIvu and K8!? Awesome!!! Super cool, you guys!
@@scott_chocolate thank you!
Bladej says Melina is Messmer's Sister. Neither are mentioned throughout the lands between.
Melina was aslo Marika's child
Your GRRM angle/background is something most ER lore theorist lack! Keep it up!!
Love your videos, Jack. Very well articulated and entertaining. Thank you for doing what you do!
Woow that outro was one of the coolest pieces of music.
Also you speak like an honorable man, Jack. Or should I say Mimic Jack
That is a cover of one of my favorite songs Windmills of Your Mind by Noel Harrison done by my friends Kate, Tyler, and Rivu!
Thank you for such a lovely comment!!! We really appreciate your taking notice and your kind words!💜✨
Thanks for the responses! Can I find this version mentioned above somewhere? I've listened to others but I'd really like to listen to yours. :)
@@Man_of_Tears Not yet. We just made this tiny snippet specifically for Jack. We have talked about doing the whole song, though!
This guy gets it!!
Much like how it’s very hard to get a theory “right”, it’s very hard to get a theory “wrong”; and we shouldn’t focus so much on objective truth
The spear in the side of marika, came from Mesmer.
No other games invoke THIS MUCH conversation and debate. The parts that are left up to our interpretation are there to invoke such feelings and debate. That's why these games are soooo good. It brings us together.
Think about Miquellas Haligtree. Welcoming all seeking refuge. Just as long as you are a part of the band of the Hawk.
Never stop sharing your ideas and theories Jack💖
Thanks for the well wishes!
The answer to everything is what is in the golden amber that enters the tarnished body upon game start.
The doctor who theme song over the horah loux conspiracy/story 🤣😭
This man can cook!
During my first playthrough, I thought that Marika was going to be the final boss and that she was going to be a giant ant, because I learned she was a numen and the ants of deeproot depths held numen runes 😂 always blaze your own path, another good one Jack 🍻
You weren't too far off with that one. Radagon is Marika and the Elden Beast is just a big space bug so you get partial credit on that!
Those people are clowns you’ve brought so many cool theories/stories to the table
Dude, your theories are so crazy unique it just makes sense. Anyone who comes at thee shall have to go through me, your loyal shadow.
I love a fandom that gets vitriolic regarding competing views of lore interpretation. That’s passion, not toxic.
Just as Arthur C. Clark once said,
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
They may sometimes be difficult to tell apart (but it's often all love)
@@GhostWriter-Gohan haha pretty good analogy but I happen to dislike Clarke’s law as a rhetorical device
The word vitriol is literally associated with the words toxic, venom and poison. 😅
@@Jadizi erroneously. It's actually associated with acid and glass. Totally different I promise.
@obviousalias132 acid, corrosive af. Yeah. Not totally different at all.
"Miquella is the Timeless Child from Doctor Who CONFIRMED!!!!???"
There's no doubt that many fans of this story wouldn't have been able to enjoy it as much without seeing other people's opinions and discussing them.
@@mrct592 that would be awesome lol he spawns inside a cave, suddenly elden ring is a survival horror game
Crazy idea.
Death birds are Omens.
Both have human body with animal traits.( wings and tails)
Both use vengeful spirit magics.
That one dude was very accurate marika went through the extinction of her people and rebelled and dipped
Think for yourself, and question authority. An excellent thing to keep in mind as one is confronted with new information.
You rock!
Hoara Loux didn’t have the dectus medallion, so started cranking 90s to reach the Altus Plateau
@@obzen84 really good idea about the blackness/void!
Mesmer's Eye is Marika's Scarseal.
How did you know?
I have been shrived clean. You have a wonderful attitude. I love your theories (even if they are crazy and inevitably disproven 😝)!
The theories will be even crazier if they're actually right ;)
That Sygtrigger might be on to something.
I screamed when he jumped down the elevator shaft
No one's videos have been as enjoyable as yours, the insights you have provided appear rooted into what is really going on, I cannot explain it, you sound correct.
The sleep chests being portals used by one of Miquellas alters, St.Trina. My theory is that an unknown number of the main possess are the "flesh" that Miquella discarded when he entered the realm of shadow.
Lol thought it was purely a joke, and then you got real. Theory is the best part of the story telling style. It's so fun right now even if I have windmills stuck in my head now.
If you got windmills stuck in your head then you get it 🤙
Tbh I'm thankful that elden ring has brought many lore enthusiasts into elden ring that were not around during the souls series.
Hey Jack ❤
I heard of you from AHumanJusticar video I was recommended by chance by youtube, and I am very happy for that as both of you are such insightful and talented people who make great content. I've only watched a video each from both of you and I am already in love.
I haven't been unfortunate enough to have any people brutally detracting my tbh fringe theories in my videos (just my voice 😂), it's been mostly on REDDIT I've run into that type of thing 😅
It is silly though.. some people seem to think we can swallow Elden Ring like a penguin but the game is SO vast and SO intricate that's always gonna be biting off more than one can chew- but TOGETHAAAAA we can devour the very lore.
Half of the fun making videos are the commenters some of who's posts feel like they are prying open my third eye 😂
Keep going, toxicity be damned.

BASED GOD! You are easily my favorite of the lore channels, my friend.
I'm convinced that Marika is a Silver Tear creature. I just can't rationalize her existence any other way.
There are only three instances in game of something transforming into different people right before our eyes in Elden Ring: the Mimic Tear, the Stray Mimic Tear, and Marika/Radagon
To make it really fun I say Marika is a Silver Tear Mimicking the Gloam Eyed Queen, because why not
@@JackisaMimic The way she is like cracked stone when her body is weakened, the way the shaman parallel the albinaurics, the divesting, the grafting, the shape shifting. The most absent character in the game is with us virtually all the time 🤣
keep up the great work bud.
Hearing the Firelink Shrine theme during this video really makes me want to hear some of your Dark Souls theories if you have any.
The haters are boosting the sales 🎉
Personally, I just get excited whenever a new TH-camr with a different theory pops up. Helps bring freshness to a 2 year old game. Keep up the good work.
I believe the different endings in Elden ring are the stories of the beginning classes. For example astrologer class would have the Ranni ending
I find It Interesting that all of Marika's cursed children names start with the same letter of their mother's name
- Messmer
- Melina
- Morgott
- Mohg
- Miquella
- Melania

Youre the greatest Elden Ring content viewer!
We love u man, thanks for all you do! ❤
I fight demons with a Dragonslayer in my dreams too ;) and that’s how I know this is such a good to story to share
Strugglers keep struggling 💪
Some Red Lion General conspiracy theories:
About the mechanism of how the stars stopped, for me it'd be Radahn's fate, let me explain: the fate of the Carian Royals is guided by the stars, and we know thanks to both Ranni and Miquella that the only way to get rid of ones own fate is the death of the body, from this we can infer that Radahn's destiny is to arrest the stars themselves until the time of his death.
No one should be discounting these theories, the same mfs who talk shit on you don't even understand
have yall seen the "Sentient Horcrux Infusion Transfer" video yet? I think its the best theory yet. even better than the fungus theory.
honestly I LOVE your thoughts & view points on the game it is really refreshing & how the hell is someone gonna tell you that your wrong over something that is clearly made to be open to interpretation & subjective. What ranni said was so true how the hell would we know who is a liar or not anyway?
That which links all things in a chain of relation, all things yearn eternally to converge. What does this mean
Check out my first video: "How to Understand Elden Ring Lore", I got over that very conecpt!
I have been enjoying your videos and how you present thr story...keep up the good work
Also love Boggart the Diver story 😂
Much like real life, we will never know what the purpose of Stonehenge was
The Truth section reminds me of a conversation I once had! :D Thanks for your truth!
Comment on mine please
(I think i said ELDEN RING is really the beginning and Ds3 is really the end at worlds end because if you look at the opening art for Ds3 and ELDEN RING the difference is in the sky the circle and ELDEN aka the lands between the circles intertwine and some of the same beasts are from Ds3 so is this laziness or links to a whole story?)
Is Jack the second Elden lord a mimic?
Jack your so strong dude I teared up after 5:30 Keep going your a gift to the world! #TeamMimic💪💪💪
Nah brother, you’re the one who’s strong 💪 😎🤙
In response to the one who sometime doesnt always believe in your theory, (sometime it's also me)
I think it's all okay! Sure sometime i also think that your theory goes to a whole new route, but i would still like to hear it, that's the point of the lore discussion!
We are all having fun speculating because the lore is unclear for on purpose
Some of your theory is really compelling, but some are not, and again that's fine
If I have any feedback on your delivery, is whenever you think you are still on a gray zone of a conclusion, maybe tell the audience if it's still not set on stone
(I've seen many times people connecting item A and B lore, because their theories supports that connection, but in fact, it can be misleading further if some connection of items are wrong somewhere)
But again still, maybe that's also fine, we really need someone out there who is brave enough to tell a story and make a speculation with confidence, hearing all of it, is fun
Furthermore with your insight of GRRM writings, surely theres some patterns that people might overlooked
Great work man, keep it up!
Thank you! I am glad you understand the point, you dont have to believe everything I say, I am just happy to share what it is and for people to listen. Believe all of it, believe none of it, I am thankful that you listened.
I do try to stay consistent though and am open to having my mind changed if the evidence is compelling enough to me.
Grace mimic has the same shape as the rune of death. Good luck
Damn, bro just rekt the people talkin trash.
Heck yeah this was awesome!! ❤
Heeeey KiteTales converged with Kosmos on the Rada Rizzler theory. Hilarious!
Anyway, I see we're getting closer to the unveiling of the mimic... Mhm, it cometh!
Godfrey is said to be a demigod himself, possibly even numen. He is not just a human like the tarnished.
Finally someone said Radagon is a mimic!!! Yaaaaay, that my wild guess as well!🎉
I like that future Elden Ring theory, time do be freaky up in dragon town. Imagine the ring started as a simple circle and just gets more and more messy as stuff gets added, like black MIDI lmao
Hourah Zouxmies at the start 😂
Anyway, I'm working on a bingo card of the 25 (24 + free space) theories/reveals I'm expecting to be confirmed/implied in the DLC.
I was thinking something similar too! I wanted to host that in my discord but this was much easier !
dude don't let the angry commenters get to you. personally i love your wild takes on the lore and every video i watch is delicious food for thought.
all perspectives are good perspectives.
and at the end of the day nothing is set in stone.
to discourage theorycrafting is a major disservice to the community so ignore the naysayers... "make a video apologizing for everything you got wrong" jesus christ give me a break, what a bunch of losers.
its only a game and anyone who gets legit mad over a take on the lore they don't agree with should go play in traffic.
Goatest Elden Ring lore creator.
Don't let the haters get you down.
Fans come and go but haters click on every video 😉
Keep up the great work! 🤜🤛
Go for Goat 💪😎
I learned that one can whine self-righteously.
