Lore summary for this lesson. As not everyone enjoys the lore presented in a story telling format, here are the most important bullet points of the video.
However, this story is not complete, and if you feel that I left something out or didn’t address something I should have, there are more videos to come.
    Please read after full viewing:
-All things are linked a chain of relation
-The Shamans are descendants of the women of Rauh and practiced Sprite and Spirit magic
-Rellana destroyed the town of Moorth
-Rennala met the Full Moon and Rellana met the Dark Moon
-The Carians have always had a “silver” connection
-Radagon used the Great Rune Miquella would eventual receive to steal Rennala’s heart
-Rellana chased after Messmer after she grows distant with Rennala
-Rennala introduces Ranni to the Dark Moon as a “replacement” for her sister, making her the “third” sister
-The Snowy Crone is a Noxian Mimic who teaches Ranni the truth of many things and manipulates her into initiating the Night of Black Knives
-Rennala’s primary grief is the loss of her daughter and she is attempting to rebirth Ranni
-The Numen came from another world via their stone coffins
-The Congealed Putrescence is the “original” silver tear, and was used to create things like the claymen
-The Moon of Nokstella is a man-made moon that literally guides stars in order to capture Starlight Shards
-Starlight Shards are used to create the puppet tonics and Celestial Dew
-Celestial Dew is the Primordial Drop of Dew that is used to create artificial life like silver tears and albinaurics
-Using Spirit Magic, the Numens put souls in the Silver Tears and that leads to the birth of the Nox
-The Nox are akin to a man made slave race that rebels by destroying the Black Moon by summoning an Astel
-The Unnamed Eternal City used to sit where the hole in Leyndell is. This does not mean that Leyndell as the Erdtree Capital was present when the Eternal City was destroyed
-The Nox Migrate to what is now known as Ordina and using Silver Tears they create a Mimic of the Full Moon, the Dark Moon, and set their plans in motion
-The replacement of the Black Moon with the Dark Moon is reflected in Rennala replacing Rellana with Ranni
-All things yearn eternally to converge

The vow - it is either golden order atonement OR the unity of the house of the moon. The vow isn't one Miquella made between Radhan - it existed before them. 😮

The woman depicted on Rauh statues may not be Marika, but rather one of her ancestors (grandma?). The statue in the Maliketh arena is also still a mystery

    • @brigbird3656

I think the statue is ranni, but I think it was born before it was constructed, as a sort of prophecy. The statue is a young woman surrounded by three wolves. Ranni gives you the lone wolves ashes which is three wolves. She also has three wolves spawn directly outside her tower. She also has three wolves in the form of blaidd iji and the player character. I don't count selivus since he's a traitor. I think Ranni might be a prophesied savior somewhat like Azhor Ahai or the prince that was promised.

I just realized something from this, both the eternal darkness spell and dark moon spell can nullify spells and incantations, so is that why Ranni wanted to bring the elden ring into the dark moon? Because the dark moon can block the power of the Gods?
My theory was that Ranni has the ability to see the future just like her astrologer ancestors and the dark moon blocked her sight making her unable to see the future, and that's why she was enchanted by the dark moon. It showed her an uncertain unknowable future unlike the destiny decided for her by the two fingers, and that's why she said those words at the end " unto fear, doubt, and loneliness" because that's how she feels going into this uncertain future. If the dark moon can also block the power of the outer gods then it makes more sense for her to create her order on the dark moon.

    • @angelus_lucifero

I rarely see this reading. It's very validating! Essentially, the fear, doubt and loneliness are the price to pay for sovereignty or taking one's own path. We cling to ideologies, religions, etc because they are a path defined. They are lit and well-trodden. But also seem to lead to the same inevitable ends. The way forward is in the directions yet to be lit.

Marikas braids came after she made the pact in the gate of divinity, if u look frame by frame the cs u can see the long hair getting braided by the weird wind, like sealing a pact. Rauh ruins predates all that, it's an ancient civilization even for the hornset and Marika came from the shaman village. Hence is possible that the woman huge statue is NOT Marika since this could probably predate her.

    • @JackisaMimic
      @JackisaMimic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Stakes of Marika with her braid are everywhere in Elden Ring. From the underground Ancient Dynasty to the forever Crumbling Farum Azula. Marika is much older than she is giving credit to being.

    • @90piterr

@@JackisaMimic those are strictly game mechanic elements for respawn, what will they use to respawn in those places then? If U tell me that there are statues of her in those places I would buy it but not the stakes. The only moment we see Marika with the hair not braided is in the cs when she's becoming a God. All visual references of her in game are from that point onwards, she can't be the Rauh statue (which would mean she was a prominent figure there) at the same time that she became a God since from point 0 she started with the erdtree and her golden order. Plus the fact we know she's from the shaman village. I'm inclined to believe as suggested in the cookbooks that Rauh is ancient and way before Marika's time. Don't forget that before Marika there was other God (Gloam eye Queen imo, now reinforce with the shape of her sword......a spiral) another Lord (her Lord imo as well Placidusax) that would explain a lot of Godskin features and places where they are located but that's another story :v.

    • @JackisaMimic

Rebirth Monuments exists in game with no discernible details or archeological significance. If Stakes of Marika were just supposed to be “strictly game mechanic elements” why do are they depicting the most important character in the lore?
She’s called the Eternal for a reason.
If Marika is just from the Shaman Village how can she have a close relationship with the Black Knife Assassins who hail from the Eternal Cities?

    • @90piterr
      @90piterr 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@JackisaMimic yes, she's is Queen Marika the eternal, imo name given due to her removing death in her order by removing destined death. We know Numen is a long live race, but not eternal. Look the chief of the shaman village, she looks like Marika after being defeated by us (like a stone statue). Eternal cities and it's inhabitants are tied with Marika by race, they are from the same stock as her aka Numens but much younger in time than her due to the fact the only Numen reference we get from the land of shadows is the shaman village.
I think it's on point Marika is depicted in the stakes, after all she's the grace given entitity in the lands between, she took it from the tarnished and gave it back after, allowing us to "revive".

Some others have already pointed it out but I don’t think the statues in Rauh depict Marika.
Rauh is ancient, even to the Hornsent civilization. This makes Rauh one of the oldest places in the lands between, possibly only beaten by the Uhl-era (considering their architecture seems older, is less decorative and more practical).
But she was clearly important and chances are we don’t know her. She COULD be the Grandmother. She COULD be the GEQ (unlikely Imo). But it’s also likely that she’s an unnamed prior monarch.
Edit: Similar to the statue of the “dynast” the old man clutching a tablet. Clearly old and important yet we know nothing about him.

I would like to add that due to Esgar, the Blood Noble in the catacombs of the Sub. shunning grounds, wearing the great hood, who drops the Lord of Bloods excultation, we can surmise some very important things: thanks to the sorcerer painting reward which also is the Greathood, located near the stragazer's ruins, where we have a beautiful full view of rennala's moon, the great hood states:
Hood far larger than the head it is meant to cover. A burial shroud of sorts for those who discover, at long last, the truth they sought.
Increases intelligence and faith to the detriment of HP.
"Yes, surely this is the moon that young Rennala gazed upon."
Upon this very moon, whose great rune can we clearly see? Miquella's great rune! To my knowledge, this is the only part in the game where we have such a clear view of renallas moon. This clearly connects to the bewitching power of the Egg that renalla cradles, reminds me a lot of how those reborn by renalla look young aka. Nascent.
Back to the lord of blood's exultation:
A talisman depicting the exultation of the Lord of Blood.
Raises attack power when blood loss occurs in the vicinity.
"Render up you offerings of blood to your Lord. Drench my consort's chamber. Slake his cocoon's thirst. His awakening shall herald the dawn of our dynasty"
Just goes tho show how Miquella was pulling the strings from many a powerful demigod

Consider watching my previous video: The Eternal Struggle of Queen Marika. I cover the connection in that video, but here is the long and short of it:
The reliefs on the Stone Coffins show us that they predate and are connected to the Ancient Dynasty. The Black Stone Civilization(Guardian Golems and the structures that are built into the earth) are connected to the Ancient Dynasty thanks to the evidence in the High Road Cave (Guardian Golem, Blue Dancer Charm).
The Rauh Ruins have the same architecture as the Black Stone Civilization and Guardian Golems are present. The Rauh Ruins only have statues of women, namely a women who wears a veil and has braids in her hair, both related to Marika.
The people of Rauh worked in Sprite and Spirit magic. The Shaman's are a group of all women who also work in spirit magic, as per the Japense names for both the Shamans and the Numens being related to spirit-like persons.
      Hope this helps!

Didn't knew that, but now I have watched that Video.
I still don't see the connections.
The statues found in Rauh look nothing alike to Marika, or her kin. Marika has different braids, and a different crown, same goes for the women in the village with the golden tree has. I assume her mother, or atleast also a numen.
As for the blackstone connection I have no idea what you are going to?
In rauh are no golems like in the base game. The scarlet rot connection is also a different one, from the description from Romina we know they started the cult of the knosp after a fire.
Under Liurnia the presumed rot goddess is sealed, by the blue dancer. Where is the connection to marika here?
To the stone graves in the ceruluan shores. In the current german version, the description for the stone coffins, mentiones them coming from underground. I don't see how they come from outer space, and how it is related to the numen.

@@rikley8153In the Spanish localisation the coffins are also said to come from underground, which is sooooo interesting. The Numen could come from underground, tho. From "another world" doesn't necessarily mean from outer space. It makes me think of the Tuatha Dé Dannan from Irish mythology and their connection to burial mounds, spirits and godlike status (saint material?). Do you think the tombs where built as tombs that resemble ships (due to the multiple connections of death and water) or were they actual vessels that came from space, ended underground after a collision that killed most of its passengers and were slowly resurfaced? I'm more inclined to the first option, but who knows.
Oh, I also wanted to mention that, although I agree with you in not seeing many of the connections presented (that woman's statue doesn't look like Marika's statues at all, for instance), there's one archer golem in Rahu's ruins, and those mound birds, which we can find aplenty in Rahu, (I don't recall the name in English) are golems as well, so there is at least some connection there to the civilisation that built the Divine Towers.

I don't know what to make of the big tombs. They seem to look like ships. But actually lack any necessary equipment, like a mast or rowes. But I agree with you, that the water related topic with death may be the indicator. That's a nice theory.

I do however have something unrelated that I haven't seen anyone discuss yet it seems like lore folks should be onto this by now:
The Farum Azula Elden Ring makes more sense now: We couldn't figure it out and attributed the differences between the modern ring and the Farum Ring to missing runes. But now we know what the spiral means. The Spiral is a representation of the Crucible. The Farum Elden Ring is depicting an era in which the Crucible and the Elden Ring were connected.
I theorize that the Crucibles are a counter balancing power to the Elden Ring. The Elden Ring is cosmic celestial power while the Crucible is more like divine power of the planet.
I started down this theoretical path when I realized that Hornsent culture has no identifiable connection to the Elden Ring or Greater Will if we discount Marika. The Grandam, who reminds me of Enia, seems to speak to the Divine Beast Lion Dance in the same reverence Enia shows when talking to the Two-Fingers. Their iconography invokes the Spiral but not the rings. The fall of Farum Azula seems to indicate a prior shattering, one that split the Crucible and the Elden Ring (be it literally or a war). The Hornsent folks walked away from those events with knowledge and access to the powers of the Crucible while the Elden Ring seems to have vanished. We saw Marika becoming a god. I always thought that happened when she got the Elden Ring but it seems the events are separate. So where/how did she get it? We can't assume she took it from the Hornsent because the Hornsent Culture doesn't reference the Elden Ring (unless I missed something and that is still very much on the table). So where did she get it?
Sorry for the lack of Mimics in this discussion but I do hope it has gained your interest. I'll make sure to stay on topic next video.

No mimics in this discussion?! You just explained how these cultures are mimicking each other!
Looks like the spiral being removed from the Elden Ring is akin to its own shattering, and the world was in need of repair

Loved this video as you opened my mind up to a lot of different ideas and theories I had spinning around up there. The only thing I’ll say that really stands out, is I don’t see much evidence to the dark moon also being created by the nox. You explained their relation to the black moon perfectly, but I don’t think that lines up as well with the dark moon just being 2.0. I know this is kind of out there, but I think it’s more likely the dark moon is a mimic of the greater will itself. Microcosm and Ymir’s hat both give this idea that the greater will is a void, and the dark moon has a distinctly similar void inside of it. The greater will was god giving will to creation, but that was horrifically ruined over the years, and the dark moon rises as a mimic of said divinity. That’s why Ranni is taught to fear it, it is a divine body that was created by and reflects mankind’s will, rather than the power or “light” of gods and the sun. With this understanding, Ranni’s ending perfectly mirrors the greater will creating its “order” or “age” and then leaving, but it left with souls and order still intertwined and able to be manipulated. God created life that eventually creates god.

Great video! I'm still not sold on that statue in Rauh representing Marika. Yes, she's the eternal queen, but I'm inclined to believe that she only attained that title after using the Divine Gate. I believe the shaman religion is being overlooked. We have many references to "impure" lives, foundational (base, vile, wicked, lowly) snakes, trees, and the "Grandmother." The Hornsent seem to have a stronger connection to the Ancient Dynasty than numen/shaman do. They are the spiritual beings while Numen/Nox are physical beings. The multiple references to "invaders" is trying to tell us something. They homogenized the outsiders and took the Numen knowledge of the tree/clayman/matrilineal leadership and incorporated it into their own culture. Hence the spiral tree tablets, the tree can be perceived as something akin to the spiral current of the crucible. Why would the numen leave their home? To find somewhere peaceful to settle, not to rule in their new home. The Nox tried to usurp Ancient Dynasty/Hornsent's God, but failed. Hornsent would arise at the end of the Ancient Dynasty as their spirituality is increased. The Hornsent mistreatment of the Shamans is what broke the peace.
TLDR: Ancient people + Numen -> Ancient Dynasty -> Hornsent/Shaman + Nox -> Shaman (Land Betweeners) + Nox remnants

    • @JackisaMimic
      @JackisaMimic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

In my previous video I make the argument that the Shaman's are mimicking the Numen and mistake their scientific achievements as divine, but are not Numen. They see the enhancement of the Crucibles as a divine gift from the Heavens, so they are terrestrial beings who are viewing something coming from outside the Lands Between from space akin to angels sent from God.
For instance, in this video I compare the coffins to the jars. When the time is right I will expand more on the Hornsent, there is a lot to learn about them and from them.
As for Marika, her story is very far reaching. Isn't it curious that we find Stakes of Marika everywhere, even in places you think would predate her or not be related to her? With my videos, I will be attempting to make sense of the lore as one cohesive story, and I think Marika is the key to making it work.

I still think Renna must have a far more interesting identity than simply being a random witch in the forest. The way Ranni talks about her gives me the feeling we might not even talk about a person. Maybe it's an aspect of Ranni herself that she "met", or discovered, while being alone in the wilderness. Maybe she is to Ranni like what Radagon is to Marika and St. Trina is to Miquella. A trait she shares with the other Empyreans.
I find the relationship between Ranni and her mother Rennala very interesting. I'd love to know more about it. In the present, Ranni clearly loves, or greatly respects her mother who became a husk of her former self. But was that always so? Doesn't Ranni's search for a new mentor, and her following a dark moon instead of her mother's full moon - doesn't it all sound like a form of rebellion? Maybe something along those lines. Finding her own way in a world full of rules, a predestined path as an Empyrean and where she potentially has an overprotective mother who clings and cradles the only thing her lover left her upon his departure...
And is it a coincidence that the name "Renna" so closely resembles that of "Rennala"? Maybe Renna is an alter ego of Ranni's mother, Ranni's "other mother", to cite the movie Coraline. Rennala might've come up with the form/identitfy of Renna to secretly guide her beloved daughter, away from the eyes of any royal court, academy or golden order. Her sane aspect, free of the eternal love sickness that broke her, which Radagon brought upon her. A cold witch, not burdened by emotions. Her hidden side. Hidden like the dark side of the moon.
All that for Ranni to become the truly independent person who's eventually able to defy the gods and free the Lands Between.

Kinda unrelated to the video but i have been wondering about the stake of Marika at mohg's boss room. We have seen that there are no stakes of Marikas at the places where she is not worshipped (Raya Lucaria, Farum Azula, Haligtree and Belurat to name a few). Mohg is strongly opposed to the golden order yet he has a stake of the god of the golden order who is also his mother who sent him to the sewers yet he has a stake of her next to his boss room. I think this implies that Marika might have actually visited the omen twins which would explain Morgott's devotion to the erdtree and why Mohg has a stake of his mom next to his boss arena. I feel like he thinks that what happend to them was out of her control.
These are just my thoughts tho I would love to know what you think.

There are a lot of sort of narrative. Takes that you're having in here that I don't really recall being taken from dialogues or item descriptions. Are you taking a little bit of a personal spin on the narrative when you're describing say? For example, the Royal knights of the capital, hearing rumors of a silver skin Queen. And her armies of trolls eating humans?
Just curious if there's more uncovered dialogue that I can go read into personally or if it's just a personal narrative either way, I do really enjoy. I find it very captivating

    • @JackisaMimic
      @JackisaMimic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I show my sources in the corner of the screen. Things like the rumors about Carian are added by me for fun world building by trying to imagine what type of propaganda campaign would be used to muster troops, as well as to reflect current theories in the fandom.
For instance - Albinaurics are seen as impure beings and have silver blood, and we have items that specifically mention that there were rumors of Latenna being an albinauric. There are also theories in the fandom that Rennala is an albinauric, so I just tied them together that there would be rumors by the small folk of this new queen. "If she has Albinaurics as knights, could she be one herself?"
The Carian's have Troll Knights in their armies, which is a very high honor compared to how we see trolls throughout the Lands Between, which is as slaves who have stakes driven through their chests. "Monstrous trolls in her army, what does she feed them?! Her defeated enemies!?"
As a reader of GRRM's other works, I try to add a bit of the flavor from his writings into my writing, but while not trying to take away from what is present in the game.

I theorize that all Norman style castles were part of the Sun Realm. Nearly every single one of them has Banished Knight weaponry, dragon canons, or storm hawk barricades. Caria Manor is a bit unique in that there are additional structures built towards the top of the castle, but it still follows many of the same architectural designs as the other Sun Realm castles.
Liurnia is a more independent region but we do find that there is an alliance and amiability with the Sun Realm and its former vassals. For one we have the Gold Road running through the region(shout out Nameless Singer) but we also have the Icering Hatchet found in the Temple Quarter which is explicitly named as a gift from Castle Sol, an obvious Sun Realm era fortification.

It's interesting how Caria existed within the Shadow Lands even prior to Messmer's crusade, and whatever Marika did to create the Lands Between. Were led to believe that the Carians, who inhabited Caria Manor and the Cathedral of Manus Celes, descended from the mountaintop astrologers, in the Lands Between. Somehow though, they ALSO seem to have land within the Shadow Realm. It's almost as if the two lands actually were once one, intermingled. Or it's just bad writing.

Here is the long and short of it, rewatch the video if you want the sources.
The Moon of Nokstella is an artificial moon used to collect Starlight Shards. Starlight Shards are used to create things like the Puppet Tonics, which is akin to slavery, and Celestial Dew, allowing for the Eternal Cities to create artificial silver life. That artificial life becomes sentient and want their freedom. The Nox summon an Astel to the destroy the Moon of Nokstella, which in turn destroys the Eternal City and stops the mass production of silver life.
They migrate to the mountaintops (see Ordina, the Dragonkin Spirits, the Ice lightning) and hatch their plan for their coming age by create a mimic of the Full Moon, a new Black Moon, the Dark Moon.

    • @JackisaMimic

The 2nd phase of her boss fight is essentially a “memory” of Rennala when she could walk. The remembrance we get of her is of her at her full splendor and not in her current state. You can even see this with the armor set and her staff.
The armor set that can be purchased from Enia has a ring on her finger, much like she does in her second phase, but is not present on her NPC model.
Her staff is also found outside of the Red Wolf of Radagon’s boss room but can be duplicated from her Remembrance
We also see in the Stargazer Heirloom a depiction of her walking.

I wonder if Marika cloaked her son Miquella as Radagon to bewitch Rennala and then inherited the position of Rennala's lover after the obsession was cemented? 🤔

The conjectures here aren't backed up by observational evidence...like, why are you claiming that the Nox created Astel and destroyed their creators? you don't spend any time in this video establishing that claim. It bugs me and makes it feel not worth my time. I'm not here for your personal fanfiction- I'm here trying to engage in collectively solving this mystery for real.
