I did the catch can. I mounted mine down low close to the oil filter. I used 5 feet of 3/4 inch hose. This created a p-trap like design that cooled the vapors and then collected them in the can. It works great.

That outer wire is the trigger ti tell it when to energize. 😊

I had two shops tell me that I needed glow plugs but with only 67k original mikes I knew it was highly unlikely. I finally found the GPR to be faulty so I replaced the relay along with the timer and it’ll start by heating the plugs one single time right down ti 20 below zero every single time.

The stock 7.3 intake tube has a shroud around the ccv port, pointing towards the air filter. So when the turbo is sucking hard the air verocity creates pressure on the CCV, not vacuum. Aftermarket boost and fuel mods increase the pressures on both sides of the CCV port. Stock it don't matter, but with performance mods this should be one of them.

Im in process looking for a rig. 7.3 or 6.0 Engine. Found some possibility rigs. So, 6.0.vs 7.3, and considerations on the rig w different engines. Are they the same basic engine just smaller internals and power output?? Not at all familiar with Ford diesels engine family, need to get up to speed on things here. thx. The updates are well worthy to copy , I put in LEDs on a 69 Firebird, really liked the results.

I considered the 7.3 TD 98 and older, yet finding 99 and newer is better way to go on 7.3 Diesel for several reasons. Design, parts upgrade available etc. Though found a really nice 96 Low miles perfect in & out etc yet it’s the earlier ver . BTW, have you looked into the Gapless rings and new design pistons?? Very impressive results on them.

Going from a cummins to a 7.3 is a bit jarring. The cummins has so much low end torque that you almost feel like the 7.3 struggles. But the 7.3 wants to be above 2000 rpms to make its power. Feels like its screaming. Once you realize thats the difference they pull the same. Just feels like the 7.3 is working harder to get its power. Just a design difference I guess.

2005 yup all you Gotta do is drive down the back road and it breaks off. China man junk lol. Apparently they make an aluminum kit I think it might cost 100 bucks but after seeing this if you wanted to fix it I suppose you could make a brass hinge or something with some cannons tubing and JB Weld it on I would rather just leave it off and block in the fresh air intake and if you need fresh air crack the window how come the old Chevys don't have these problems lol

I just replaced my turbo pedestal yesterday cause it was leaking from the O rings and the actuator arm and now the pedestal is leaking from behind the actuator itself. 🤦‍♂️

My 6 4 just tested was the same as your . Think in 180k. Runs great. Put my hand over no oil on hand . Did steam the same as yours. Ford says shes perfect .

My 7.3 is in an F-450 from a concrete company. They had cut a hole in the rear of the air intake box. Can't figure out what the benefit would be making it breathe hot engine bay air.

I just installed a set of infinity reference 2 way 6x9s in the front doors of my 06 ram 1500 with factory infinity system. Had no trouble, but did have to use the spacer that was supplied with the new speakers. Bolt holes lined up perfectly. Took me maybe an hour total, and it was my first time. I did watch the TH-cam videos and go on Crutchfield to find a exact fit set of speakers, and got the plug on connection adapters so i wouldnt have to cut on the existing wiring. The speakers took care of the distortion and vibrating i was experiencing, and sounds very good. The other factory speakers still play okay, so i will replace others as needed. My factory head unit still sounds good, so i will probably keep that, as well, till it starts giving problems. Glad i watched this first and done some research.

I have a 1994 different fuel bowl but I broke off the fuel line.I'm gonna put JB well to see if it works.I can't find the fuel pressure regulator that goes on the bowl

Conclusion I draw from this: stick with the stock intake setup on a stock/mostly stock truck, unless you really want that extra turbo sound (pulls cold air with a slight amount more filter restriction)😂. Nice video, though.

Just found your channel. I got a 2002 F350 with the 7.3 about three years ago. We get consistent cold temps here in central Washington state during the winter months. Where it can stay below freezing for extended periods of time. I have replaced my block heater like 3 times since I have had the truck, about 3 years. I never knew about using a timer for the block heater. Don't trust gas stations for adding anti gel agent. Add your own. I use Power service diesel fuel supplement in my personal and work trucks. Have had zero issues with it. myself. Great informational video Joe.
