    People are stupid man. I have been telling people for years the EBPS is important for performance, fuel economy, and cold starts. But you can’t fix stupid. I have had two SD trucks with the tube broken or blocked. Magically replace the tube and clean the sensor and the truck starts running better. One note: Only once on the dozens of 7.3s I have repaired have I ever seen a EBPS bad. It’s typically just a clogged or broken tube. Good video and keep doing what you do. Ignore the ignorant haters.

    Excellent video on the EBPS. I just had to change the EBPS sensor on my 2001 F250. I had the same symptom you described with poor MPG. I also had poor cold starting with very rough idling after starting. It was like a new truck after changing...biggest thing was fuel mileage also came back.

    I changed mine on my 2000 F250. My tube was plugged, adapter in the exhaust manifold, the adapter on the cover to gain access to the hpop reservour, and sensor was plugged. Unplugging the adapter to the exhaust manifold was easy. The adapter from the tube to the sensor I had to use very small drill bit and keep going up in size until the hole was completely unplugged. I installed an Alliance sensor and tube. I didn't gain any noticeable mileage increase. The transmission did seem to shift a little more firmly. The idle improved alot. It idles alot more smoothly. I have a Hydra and Banks transcommand. I ended up switching from modified valve body to standard tunes and it shifts much firmer and faster now. With the modified valve body it wasn't shifting correctly. It seemed like it was taking to long shifting and was to soft.

    Nice work Joe. And forget the naysayers! Do you get the full sensor bundle with the Edge? Or just the EGT sensor? I’m not sure if I need a trans temp sender for my 2000 powerstroke because I think that data is already available in the OBDII, right?

    • @LivingOnWheels
      @LivingOnWheels  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have found that the competition sensor bundle that they sell is the best deal. You don’t need the trans temp sensor but you can use the pressure sensor for fuel pressure and of course egt for egt.

    What kind of psi were you getting on the ebp before you changed the sensor?? My OBS reads 48psi and I’m pretty sure that’s what is wrong with it. No power and won’t go over 60mpg and 2k rpms… My excursion reads 15-17psi idle/driving. Is that a bad enough EBP reading to kill my fuel economy? It cold starts like a beast and runs better than any 7.3 I’ve ever driven. I’m getting 14-15 mpg stock and feel like it should be getting 17-18

    • @LivingOnWheels
      @LivingOnWheels  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      48psi definitely sounds bad. I’d start with the sensor unless the wires look bad. Your excursion doesn’t sound out of the ordinary. I thinking mine is around 2-3 at idle. 6-8 ish idle within the e valve closed and 13 ish high idle with the valve closed. Ideally your back pressure should be equal or less than boost while driving.

    • @TrentonFletcherMusic
      @TrentonFletcherMusic หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ starting there on the OBS. I’ve heard back pressure should be pretty equal to MAP as well?

    • @LivingOnWheels
      @LivingOnWheels  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ atmospheric pressure is around 14psi then goes up with boost. Back pressure should be close to boost not map
