It might balance itself out just because of the passive tree size. I don’t remember where these nodes are but we have the same points as poe1 with a bigger, harder to navigate skill tree. Might have to spread points thin

@@amisfitpuivk also worth noting that there’s way fewer increased mana nodes than there are ES nodes on the tree, which become useless with eb. I agree that it should be pretty balanced bc you’re sacrificing a good bit of tankiness and have to accept inefficient pathing

Obviously I haven’t played POE 2 yet so I can’t make any promises about it to you, but I’ll say this: POE 1 was, for me, the culmination of a years long quest to find some ARPG or looter that scratched “the itch.” I tried’em all man. D3, borderlands 2-3, grim dawn, torchlight, destiny, anthem, you name it. They each had something going for them but none scratched THE ITCH for me. …….I don’t think I was even 2 hours into PoE before I knew it was “the one.” And now 6,000+ hours later I can say I was right, at least for my own tastes. So I at least have reason to be cautiously optimistic that POE 2 will be that game for many people, and I hope you enjoy the hell out of it. Thanks for commenting, hope to see you around!

Awesome! Keep in mind that the game is fully cross play enabled, so all platforms can play together. The voice chat probably won’t work across platforms but discord should work fine if anyone wants to do that. Feel free to hit the discord invite in the video description if you want to talk to some other excited players, there might be some folks there who would want to do PS5 mic chat, or maybe you’d be interested in discord chat instead. @@cyruslupercal9493 I’m actually really, really curious to see exactly how this goes. The devs have actually been making a pretty big deal of the “new player experience” in the opening 10 minutes and then the opening hours of the game, they don’t want to drive new players off with the same level of opacity and complexity PoE 1 had. Buttttt at the same time it IS still path of exile….soooo……. I still expect whoever the equivalents are of Hillock and Brutus to clap many, many noob cheeks.

I probably don’t have the amount of free time some of the big guys have to put out consistent content so I don’t know if I’ll ever be quite “on their level” but it is very generous if you to even make the comparison, and I appreciate you.

@@JaredHoush I agree that point was probably more important than the passing mention I gave it. But it’s tough to offer any kind of advice around build guides, it can be a sensitive topic. Some people are very committed to not ever following a guide, as though doing so would say something about them as a person. So I think it’s important to frame that sort of information as more like a repository of accumulated knowledge than training wheels or a cookie cutter. Or to put it another way: students in mechanical physics classes don’t consider it “having my hand held” to read the textbook or listen to the professor, no one is out there bragging about how they passed an organic chemistry exam without attending a class or opening a book. A lot of our PoE knowledge about what makes a build good comes from accumulated wisdom by the whole player base, not simple facts or relationships that anyone can pick up with a few dozen hours of gameplay.

gems are tradeable though, can you buy/transfer high level gems to a new low level character and become OP?

@ unknown from current information, but if you want my educated guess: probably not. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a simple character level requirement on certain gem levels, same as there is now in POE 1.

Support gems also do not have levels at all only the tier you get them.

Yes! Very true, couch co-op will be present in the game AND also full cross play; you can be on PC and in a party with someone on Xbox and another person on PS5. Heck you can even hop off your PC and fire it up on your PS5 and find your same characters there! In couch co-op a friend can either use their own character or one of yours from your account, it’s flexible. GGG’s efforts to make this game accessible to both individuals and co-op players have been REALLY impressive and I appreciate their hard work.

@@JustNoot hm I don’t believe I’m using any third party overlays in this video so I’m guessing you might be talking about the specific stash tabs I’m using. In path of exile you start with a certain number of basic grid stash tabs, but you can purchase more and other specific types as micro transactions. These are the only micro transactions in the game that actually influence gameplay in any way, everything else is purely cosmetic. There are some types of stash tabs that organize specific item types and can hold far more of them stacked on top of each other than a normal stash tab could. These become so increasingly convenient as you advance through the endgame that they approach, in my opinion, being fully mandatory. In particular I recommend new players get the currency and map tabs, with a close third place going to the fragments tab. It’s a small price to pay for an otherwise free game and the convenience is out of this world. You should modify the options on them to have the correct “affinities”, meaning that (for example) if you ctrl+click a chaos orb in your inventory it will go to the appropriate spot in the currency tab, even if you have a different tab open at the moment! With the right affinities you can just ctrl click practically your whole inventory and it’ll zap its way over to the appropriate stash tab. Does that answer your question?

@ oh there are controller shortcuts for automatically transferring to tabs with the appropriate affinities too. Heck i think it might be even easier on a controller to be honest, especially compared to the hassle of manually moving things over. Definitely worthwhile on console too, not just PC.

Surely there will be leech nodes on the tree to help with this, but yeah leech res is what has me doubting this class...

@@sneakysneakthief2051 that’s a great tip, I like that. Belly of the beast also loves its bleeds too, a bad double whammy. Obviously this also constitutes a great reason to keep up on your life and (if possible) armour, but flasks should not be ignored.

@@The1rust oh yeah. And in a SSF environment there’s no reason you couldn’t pivot this to a more general purpose build like wave of conviction that doesn’t require all the COTB and chaos inoculation shenanigans that might require more specialized gear than you’re likely to easily get in SSF. Ignite elementalist is, at its core, a very potent general-purpose shell that can accept several different skills. Admittedly I made this with a trade environment in mind, but there are versions that can do well enough in SSF. AsmodeusClips and Jorgen have several good versions of it, though I’m scratching my head trying to think if I know of anyone who’s done a major SSF guide with an ignite build. I’m sure someone has, just can’t think of them at the moment. If anyone reading this knows of one feel free to link it.

@@buffalobaron There are certainly some times which are plentiful on trade but scarce in SSF so it can make tuning a bit interesting. For example, if I strip away what I don't have even on your mid game build then it loses about 40% damage but I still want to emphasize that even with that loss it's still doing a significant amount of damage which can do Uber content. Really shows how much certain builds don't require a lot to get going but scales incredibly well with gear rather than flatline early which makes investing in to them very rewarding.

I’ll probably spend December at least doing POE2 content (and probably a chunk of January too I’m guessing) but I’m always open to suggestions for both POE1 and 2 topics.

If you hit the usual “wall” transitioning from around yellow to red maps (common for most builds and mine is no exception) drop by the discord and we can identify some good cheap upgrades for you. Are you in standard, settlers, or the “necro settlers” event?

@ agreed. Right now this is just the barest “proof of concept” because I saw a potentially cool interaction. For context, I probably see about a dozen of these in POE 1 for every 1 I end up able to turn into an actual decent build lol

My personal plan is to also take CI and just go pure mana for hp pool

@@zerphir0n I was thinking about this one too. I feel you might still want life cause this setup will be pretty glass cannon since you give up for spirit and won't be using darkness. Having a bit of life + darkness would work over it in case of emergency could be good. Not sure how prevelent chaos damage will be to warrant ci. The nodes also could be too far apart
