EDIT: Please see the correction tag at 13:39 so you can ignore my very embarrassing brainfart mistake and get the correct information in the video description. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wanted this video to remain relevant past the league I released it in, so I didn't specify which league/settings you should make your character in when you go to create it at the beginning. However if you are watching this video within ~2.5 months of when it released, I would recommend you join the "Necro Settlers" league event, which is the fresh re-launch of Patch 3.25 with a brand new economy on 11/7/24 lasting through at least early January 2025. All characters get rolled over to Standard (permanent) league eventually if you want to keep playing the character, but most players try a new character with every fresh league. I strongly discourage new players from starting in the more challenging modes of Hardcore (permanent death) or Solo-Self Found (SSF, no trade). The game will be plenty challenging enough without those restrictions, I promise :)
Really enjoying your videos and appreciate the pacing and manner you put forth the information. Hoping one day you could put together a warden build with galvanic arrow and oath of spring!
I love that youve decided to be Enki 2.0. He got me theough my first league many moons ago. RN most noobs just play RF because of Pohx, now there is an alternative for them. GL Exile.
@@tmnumber1 ahh man I’m seriously flattered, but I’d never want to compare myself to Enki, dude was a legend. The amount of time and knowledge he put into his build was way higher, and honestly I debated choosing a different skill as a vehicle for the ignites just to avoid the comparisons because I didn’t want anyone thinking I was trying to ride his coattails. Don’t get me wrong, I’m humbled by your comment. But I’ve got way more work to do to remotely earn that comparison. Same with Pohx; the amount of time and energy he’s put in is so far beyond what I’ve done, his build is amazing. Those guys were definitely inspirations for what I’m trying to do, but I’d hate for new players to get the impression that I’m on their level, I don’t want to disappoint anyone who is expecting their level of quality.
@buffalobaron You're very humble, looks like you put in a ton work making this guide and videos. I think it's awesome to continue showing that Arc is a great skill for new players to try because someone made a thorough guide for them. I'm rolling your build rn in SSF. Idk how I'm getting the MB since I ran all my Anarchy scarabs and card farming is terrible. Lol I really want to try the end game version so I'm gonna grind for it. Anyway GL Exile.
@ you are very generous and I appreciate you. I wish you good luck; SSF may not be my specialty but if you ever want to stop by the video comments or my discord for advice we’ll see what we can do! One thing I should have mentioned for allayed but particularly for SSF: pop singularity into your POB. Pretty common unique and does a lot of good for the build before the nebulis swap.
@buffalobaron I'm already running it. Lol. Ive played every Arc build except the mana stacking Mjolnir build but I tried to. I even played std for a league to farm for the build I could never find The Squire so I eventually gave up on it. I think the gem lvl stacking golem version is still my favorite but I like them all. Most leagues I build a Mapper and a bosser than something new and then an Arc build. This league I have LS Slayer, LS Trixter and an Ele hit build that I started with. It's so easy to make rare gear in this league but farming an Apothecary to gamba is not easy. Also unique farming is nerfed. The Exiles strat is ok but it was much better last league. I will let you know how close I get to your end game build. RN I'm missing MB, Nebulis and that jewel you have on the +curse node, I forgot the name.
@@buffalobaron I did like your reasoning of spending to find something useable now, vs not spending to have more chances later. Had me unsure and I had to go check. Enjoying the video series so far, I used your other videos + pob to get through to the necrosettlers event and it felt pretty smooth.,
Thank u! this is exactly what I needed, great guide for new players like me... I have a lvl 56 character on settlers league (started playing one week ago) but decided to start all over for Necro settlers with this build and so far im loving it! @@FRF003 good questions! I forget exactly which video I mention it in, but basically in the path of exile world the whole “Vaal” society had to do with corruption. And a “Vaal” gem is a corrupted gem. Corrupted items in PoE are…stuck. Fixed. Can no longer be modified by other currencies. But the ACT of “corrupting” something comes with some random outcomes. Some are bad, some are good. In the case of some skill gems, corrupting the gem (usually by applying a “Vaal orb” to it) has the random 1/4 potential to transform the gem into a Vaal version of itself. This comes with no downsides outside the fact that you can no longer give the skill increased quality with currency, but it comes with a notable upside: now the gem adds TWO skills to your skill bar, not just one. You retain the original arc skill but now you have a sort of “ultimate move” version of the skill, Vaal arc. It can only be used after building up souls by killing weak enemies or just hitting stronger ones. Once you’ve built up enough you can unleash Vaal arc at your discretion. More damage, more chains to more enemies. I recommend this upgrade early in the endgame mapping process. It’s unlikely you will be able to find, make, or afford one during the campaign but that’s ok. You can finish the campaign just fine with the normal arc gem. Does that make sense?
@@FRF003 oh and no, socket color ORDER doesn’t matter. Colors and links yes, order no. There are veerrrryy specific tiny little niche circumstances where they do, but those are so rare that a build guide would be crazy irresponsible not to mention it. It’s usually related to builds which rely on using support gems which trigger linked skill gems, and even then it’s not always true. In those very rare cases, the order that skill gems are socketed SOMETIMES matters. But almost always; no, it does not usually matter.
@@buffalobaron thanks for the detailed explanation! Im currently at act 4 and i completed a corrupted zone and got vaal arc and vaal power siphon lol, would it be wise to change it now or should i just equip it to level it and keep normal arc? cause right now my arc gem is lvl 9 so i think it does more damage than lvl 1 vaal arc gem...
@@csucsitheone4957 ahhh, great question, I should have mentioned that, silly thing for me to leave out. Minor god my default is gruthkul since we try to block damage (which counts as being hit). @@JustNoot hm I don’t believe I’m using any third party overlays in this video so I’m guessing you might be talking about the specific stash tabs I’m using. In path of exile you start with a certain number of basic grid stash tabs, but you can purchase more and other specific types as micro transactions. These are the only micro transactions in the game that actually influence gameplay in any way, everything else is purely cosmetic. There are some types of stash tabs that organize specific item types and can hold far more of them stacked on top of each other than a normal stash tab could. These become so increasingly convenient as you advance through the endgame that they approach, in my opinion, being fully mandatory. In particular I recommend new players get the currency and map tabs, with a close third place going to the fragments tab. It’s a small price to pay for an otherwise free game and the convenience is out of this world. You should modify the options on them to have the correct “affinities”, meaning that (for example) if you ctrl+click a chaos orb in your inventory it will go to the appropriate spot in the currency tab, even if you have a different tab open at the moment! With the right affinities you can just ctrl click practically your whole inventory and it’ll zap its way over to the appropriate stash tab. Does that answer your question?
@ oh there are controller shortcuts for automatically transferring to tabs with the appropriate affinities too. Heck i think it might be even easier on a controller to be honest, especially compared to the hassle of manually moving things over. Definitely worthwhile on console too, not just PC.
@@buffalobaronlooked at stash options which I will get but think I'm referring to like when it's open you have a separate area beside it to sort or organize, and I don't see many controller short cuts either for moving inventory around. Googling more lol.
