    Quick correction: I was working with some outdated information, gems apparently no longer level up with experience; instead you find higher level uncut gems and apply them to your skills.
    However the level of your gems will still scale with your progress since higher level uncut gems will not drop until later, and scaling gem level will still be one of your damage vectors.

      gems are tradeable though, can you buy/transfer high level gems to a new low level character and become OP?

    • @buffalobaron
      @buffalobaron  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ unknown from current information, but if you want my educated guess: probably not.
      I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a simple character level requirement on certain gem levels, same as there is now in POE 1.

    Great video, Ty, Ty, Ty. It just keeps getting better and better which is hard to believe after seeing the live announcement. You have a very good way of explaining things and making them so much easier to understand, thanks for this and keep up the good work. Oh btw, you didn't mention anything about the couch co-op play style which also looks so amazing and smooth, would be awesome to learn beside a friend and a lot of fun, check it out if you haven't yet ❤

    • @buffalobaron
      @buffalobaron  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! Very true, couch co-op will be present in the game AND also full cross play; you can be on PC and in a party with someone on Xbox and another person on PS5.
      Heck you can even hop off your PC and fire it up on your PS5 and find your same characters there!
      In couch co-op a friend can either use their own character or one of yours from your account, it’s flexible.
      GGG’s efforts to make this game accessible to both individuals and co-op players have been REALLY impressive and I appreciate their hard work.

    Thanks for doing this. I hope it brings fresh blood to our delightfully rich game world.
    I'd like to call special attention to the "look at build guides even if you don't intend to play the build" advice. As someone with a lot of time in the first game, I suspect this is very solid.

    • @buffalobaron
      @buffalobaron  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JaredHoush I agree that point was probably more important than the passing mention I gave it.
      But it’s tough to offer any kind of advice around build guides, it can be a sensitive topic. Some people are very committed to not ever following a guide, as though doing so would say something about them as a person.
      So I think it’s important to frame that sort of information as more like a repository of accumulated knowledge than training wheels or a cookie cutter.
      Or to put it another way: students in mechanical physics classes don’t consider it “having my hand held” to read the textbook or listen to the professor, no one is out there bragging about how they passed an organic chemistry exam without attending a class or opening a book. A lot of our PoE knowledge about what makes a build good comes from accumulated wisdom by the whole player base, not simple facts or relationships that anyone can pick up with a few dozen hours of gameplay.

    As someone who loved D1 and D2 but hated D3 and fell off after trying it, PoE2 will be my first return to ARPGs, and I must say I'm delighted I found your channel just in time. You seem very pleasant, patient and knowledgeable. Subscribed.

      @buffalobaron  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aaeraag5724 I’m excited to have you back in the ARPG fold!
      Obviously I haven’t played POE 2 yet so I can’t make any promises about it to you, but I’ll say this:
      POE 1 was, for me, the culmination of a years long quest to find some ARPG or looter that scratched “the itch.” I tried’em all man. D3, borderlands 2-3, grim dawn, torchlight, destiny, anthem, you name it. They each had something going for them but none scratched THE ITCH for me.
      …….I don’t think I was even 2 hours into PoE before I knew it was “the one.” And now 6,000+ hours later I can say I was right, at least for my own tastes. So I at least have reason to be cautiously optimistic that POE 2 will be that game for many people, and I hope you enjoy the hell out of it.
      Thanks for commenting, hope to see you around!

      @buffalobaron  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cyruslupercal9493 I’m actually really, really curious to see exactly how this goes.
      The devs have actually been making a pretty big deal of the “new player experience” in the opening 10 minutes and then the opening hours of the game, they don’t want to drive new players off with the same level of opacity and complexity PoE 1 had.
      Buttttt at the same time it IS still path of exile….soooo……. I still expect whoever the equivalents are of Hillock and Brutus to clap many, many noob cheeks.

    I'm going to be playing on PS5 and I'm going to go with the monk class as I wanna make my version of Avatar TLAB. Anyone wanna link up and play party on PS5 with mic chat? If so hit me up with you PS5 name and on the 6th we get it in.

      Awesome! Keep in mind that the game is fully cross play enabled, so all platforms can play together. The voice chat probably won’t work across platforms but discord should work fine if anyone wants to do that.
      Feel free to hit the discord invite in the video description if you want to talk to some other excited players, there might be some folks there who would want to do PS5 mic chat, or maybe you’d be interested in discord chat instead. Up to you, but either way….
      Stay sane, exile ;)

    You do not level up your gems by killing monsters, so please try to address the misinformation. You level them by using a higher level uncut skill gem than the level of your existing gem.
    Example. The spell gem is level 3, you find a level 8 uncut gem. When consumed, you can choose a NEW level/tier 8 gem or increase the level of the level 3 gem to level 8. If you had a level 20 uncut it would make my gem go from 3 to 20.

    • @EsotericRazz
      @EsotericRazz หลายเดือนก่อน

      Support gems also do not have levels at all only the tier you get them.

    If you want to do face content you have got to learn the basics and have a clean space to film in. Just changing the camera angle and location would be a big upgrade. Good video though, we need more creators helping new players and not acting elitist. New players are life.
