Omg great video man! I have been looking for a mage witch build for so long and all I saw was arcmage (but I didn't really want to play as an old dude lmao). I am a very new poe player (only completed 2 acts in the campaign so far), so your novice guide will help tremendously:)
I actually almost did this except I went shock instead of ignite and discovered Absolution after Arc so moved to that and put a few points into minion buffing, I'm a noob (2nd league ever). Thanks for the vid, I'm gonna try THIS out. Keep up the good work bro
@@scottcampbell9456 thanks mate! And nice. Absolution can work but I’d be thinking about doing it on a Guardian or Necromancer. The minion aspect doesn’t get buffed by the Elementalist ascendancy, so you’d be leaving a lot of power on the table. I hope you enjoy this guide though! My tentative plan is to alternate posting sections of the novice and main paths, probably somewhere in the ballpark of 6 total videos spread between the two paths.
@@pedrohpm well full disclosure I’ve never played the archmage version so I’ll only be going off of what I can see in some of the top POBs, but here’s my overall impressions: Archmage will unquestionably have a higher DPS ceiling, and will also be doing instant hit based damage not waiting for the ignites to kill anything. I suspect it can also get into the 20+mil DPS range a bit more cheaply than the ignite version. But on the other hand, as far as I’ve seen Archmage arc is a bit of a glass cannon, especially compared to the relatively tanky ignite build I put together. It had no block or suppression, and pretty mediocre recovery mechanics. It’s defenses AND offense are going to cycle in efficacy depending on whether arcane cloak is up or down, and I personally find that playstyle a little clunky/harring. It’s also going to be even more reliant on Oriaths end flask for proliferation, whereas ignite prolif is a big clear boost even before Oriaths. They are also a run on different classes, not sure how much difference that makes to you, but Archmage would surely need to be on hierophant to achieve its full potential. All in all I’d say my ignite version will be tankier and have better damage proliferation, but require more investment to achieve its maximum DPS and have a lower damage ceiling than Archmage.

Waiting for the full guide
I'm definetly gonna try Arc, but I dont know if I'm going to do a Archmage Arc or Ignite Arc. Which are the pros and cons for both builds?

Well done!
