    Nathaniel, is this normal, my max for squat is 280 lbs, my max deadlift is 315, and my max hip thrust is 495 lbs. Why is my hip thrust such an outlier and could my hip thrust contribute to more vertical jump gains than my squat? Why or why not?

    If you had 2 months to feel bouncy then you are looking for short cuts. That’s the nature of these people wanting to look for short cuts and cooking cutting workout. It doesn’t work like that in real world. Everything takes time whoever asked that question. You need hard work through action not opening the mouth saying i will do it.

      Definitely not bad overall - you’re able to stress the body more with higher volume, which (if given enough rest) will create more adaptation than less volume (as long as you don’t go crazy). This is a good question - I’ll do a video.

    I have a question about PAP - Post activation Potention for ball handling. If you look up "PAP" Tim Hardaway Crossover, you will see a old video of PJF demosntrating this concept. How effective is this for long term gains in terms of speed of ball handling? I tried it with cross-between-behind in 90 seconds and it boosted my score. But what about specific moves though? Love the consistent content brother

  • @theheebs100
    @theheebs100 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

    first of all, it was great to listen to this. I've got two boys, and I also think about how I can help them become athletic. (they've got the bounce!) I have a question about squat form. I have some physical attributes that make it hard for me to squat with a narrow stance (On average, your femur makes up about 25% of your height, but for me it is 33%), and also to keep my feet from pointing out. Should I allow a wider stance when training for max strength, or force myself to try to keep a position that better mimics my jump even though it will drastically cut the weight I can lift. I already maintain a fairly good stance to mimic my jump when I lift for power. Alternatively, should I force myself to focus more on front squats where I can hit depth no problem. I gave these up in the past because my wrists just could not take it, but I do think I can perform them with better form now.

    • @AnswersForAthletes
      @AnswersForAthletes 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would definitely use a more comfortable stance with feet a bit wider. I used to actually be in this position as well. I also didn’t want to elevate my heels because I thought it was ‘cheating’. But after hearing a ton about it and how much anthropometrics plays a role (and how a bunch of NBA trainers use heel elevation and wider stances), I now squat with heels elevated and a bit wider of a stance and it just feels so much better for me. While we can always improve mobility, everyone’s body and joint structures are slightly different.

      @@AnswersForAthletes appreciate the response, my man. I figured that was the case, and that it was more important to be getting a heavy stimulus on my strength day and make sure to stay more true to my jump pattern outside of that. Thanks for the confirmation.
