I think you should be doing something.that targets power. if you arent good at olys or you just dont like them, I heavily suggest weighted jumps with either a trap bar or dumbbells. I think I prefer these as I achieve better triple extension, and it generally mimics my jump pattern better.
@@AnswersForAthletes I don't have a trap bar, but my dumbbells are the type where you can swap out the weight, so I can in theory put more weight on the bar than I could jump with. With my current set up I could maximally throw 330 lbs on between both, and I am NOT getting that weight of the ground
@@birinsan6308 I guess you could have a friend stand on a bridge and chuck a cinder block at you and you try to catch it on the chest. jokes aside, the best you can do really is holding front squats.
I dont have space to sprint in my gym but i can do like 8 meters weighted sleds only, will it helps with my velocity, or i should do plyos instead like depth jumps, box jumps etc. ?
Hey do you think that I can dunk everyday on top of the fat don’t fly program and skill code? I’m not fat but I’m just doing the program for the strength training it has in it. I don’t do the extensive plyos or cardio in FDF because I already get plenty from the court. But I want to practice the skill of dunking as often as possible because I want to dunk soon. I am currently alternating days (high intensity dunk session mwf and low intensity tues Thursday and Saturday). Thank you
Yes, but you’ll need to really base it off of how your body feels. If you feel pretty fatigued then I would even take Wednesday as a low intensity dunk day as well. Normally I don’t recommend more than what a coach has in a program, but you could if you kept the dunks at LOW volume and didn’t go crazy

Any lift is going to target your power effectively if you lift with maximum intent
I agree. I enjoy weighted jumps more as well. Trap Bar Jumps are just what I like to do most.

You cannot train the catch of the Olympic lift with any exercise

I got you in a video! Good question.
@ yeah, also, it would be embarrassing if i will do high touch jumps or max approach jumps, but im still trying to do them
You even don't need a barbel!
Olympic lifting is not power! It's strength speed + technique!
hello i got question. which is better depth jump with max jump or short ground contact time
I’ll make a video on this. The short GCT is considered a ‘Drop Jump’. Both are good and used for different reasons!
