One of the biggest problems with the s&c community are the coaches/trainers who say "DON'T DO...XYZ!" because they don't agree with it and/or they're trying to sell their own ideas. Another are those who believe they're paper is better than decades in the trenches. Over the 30 years that I've trained athletes; I have learned that there are many ways to accomplish goals.
I see a lot of straw men being attacked in the comments. It doesn’t appear that most people in here know what KOT Guy actually advocates. There’s so many levels to this methodology which is really just a focused version of Structural Balance brought to us by Poliquin. Ben never says his way is the ONLY way - he actually recommends ATG as a supplement to other training and sports to keep you limber, healthy and pain free. And Backwards Sled is one of the most amazing exercises for knee pain, people would know this to be true if they actually put in the hours on it required but I see a lot of laziness and whining. People want the answer without testing it for themselves and they will get what they deserve for their laziness. I love Ben and his system and many of the people around him and I love all the other amazing trainers in this space. Each person bring something to the table and it’s incumbent on every one of us to sew the threads together for our own purposes. Shitting on each other is beyond counter productive. Be well.
Love this. I've always loved that you're curious enough to listen and include things. Truth seeking is what many trainers don't do when they attach themselves to an ideology or even attach themselves to previous results they've achieved with people before. I jumped on the ATG bandwagon years ago, but i always listened to you, the movement system, PJF and then other trainers. Feel like your experience with ATG is exactly what I ran into, lol we must have the same social media timeline. Trainers attacking him could also be using his large status because attaching content to him taps into the power of his following with the algorhythm as well. But yeah a lot of his stuff is inaccurate.
Lots of his stuff is inaccurate and deceptive. I don't know what's worse though; Running out of content and making BS videos like the majority of the fitness "influencers" or making BS repetitive videos from the very beginning; showing again and again and again your former coach claiming that you were unathletic as fuck and now with your magic pill - program you are able to jump 42'' and cure anything from patellar tendonitis to colon cancer. The guy gives some legit information, yet his scheme is rather similar to the "Iceman" Wim Hof and the Liver King cults.
It does seem like a lot of people have benefited athletically from following his program. Potentially, the people benefitting the most are getting their plyo/fast stuff through the sport they are playing. It doesn't seem like the best program to maximize jumping or one ability. It seems better if the person needs to build some foundational movement, mobility, etc.
God, this was such a nothing burger video. Like when a kid needs to hit a word count in an essay but ran out of info to talk about. Click bait title got me.
This guy is a snake oil salesman turned borderline crossfit cult because the athletic community realised he was full of shit 😂. I get that you have a personal relationship with the guy and you don’t want to burn bridges, but it is what it is.
So out of interest, how can he jump like he can? Are you saying he's lying and doing other exercises that he doesn't advertise? (Would be a strange business model). Many of these coaches, who train elite athletes. Maybe knees over toes stuff works well for non elite athletes? Do these elite trainers coach normal people too still? Do they have information bias because of who they are working with?
Great questions - all of this is just my opinion, but here goes: I think he can jump high like he can because he is very light, and VERY strong. Pair that with a history of playing a ton of basketball and likely having decent jump technique, and he’s well off. So that alone likely gives him some good bounce. Then, I think that even with a mediocre ability to produce force quickly, he’s able to jump high. I do not think he’s doing other exercises than he advertises. I’d be very surprised if he was. Kneesovertoes methods work extremely well for general population (in most cases). Elite athletes would get much better results if he added in plyos, jumping, skips, hops, bounds, sprints, etc - not just strength work at slow speeds. Even gen pop would get WAY better results and improve longevity, durability, and quality of life by adding these plyometrics at very low impact and slowly increasing intensity just as he does with the strength work. But like I said, I haven’t looked at his program in a long time - they could be in there now. I don’t think a lot of these elite trainers coach normal people, but most definitely have in the past. It’s also easier to train gen pop than athletes (in most cases). Could be some small information bias for sure - but not as much as you’d think. Most coaches get annoyed with misinformation. Kneesovertoesguy would be way more loved (even by all of these elite coaches) if he didn’t make such wild claims about what these exercises are or do. ‘Reverse out knee pain’, ‘Bulletproof’, etc. Remember - all just my opinion. Hope this helps.
@@AnswersForAthletes i can say that playing basketball actually does little to nothing for jump height for the average player. I play local league in the Uk and have now for about 15 years. I would say at least 80%, if not even higher, cant jump at all really and my angle with this is i think most people would be more than happy with his level of athletacisim. I would actually just add plyos to my own training just because i find the variation more engaging. I dont hear most trainers even mention general population and their content doesnt seem for that either but maybe just thats my TH-cam echo chamber. I have felt the theraputic effects of dragging stuff backwards at work, i work as a gardener and fill tons sacks with rubbish. My legs/knees seem to enjoy it and seems to be a lot of other people have too. So is that one actually that much a wild claim? I do get it with the bulletproofing and maybe some other stuff but unfortunately people love these little sound bites/ slogans, so money making will gravitate to such things.
Hey coach could you do a review of by any means basketball ultimate athleticism program that would be fire 🔥 Keep the hard work this video was a banger
Agree 100%. Trust me it doesn’t ‘look’ dirty until that sunlight was on it. Even after I watched the video back and saw how dirty it was, I looked again and it doesn’t seem like it has fingerprints on it. But I cleaned it 😂 definitely made me look like a slob though lol
WTF cares what kneesovertoes guy makes? How does that lend to his credibility? Just because people buy-in to his message and spend money on his shit doesn’t mean he’s ’more right’ than someone who makes less.
@@AnswersForAthletesyou mention “points” about him and your first is how he’s ‘helping more than anyone’. Then your next “point” talks about his earnings. So, I assumed, I guess wrongly. So, in my wrongful assumption, what WAS the point behind discussing his earnings? How ARE they relevant?
To be honest, you’re right - they aren’t relevant at all. I guess I wanted to state that he helped me move to a recurring revenue business model and that was a huge help to me before I talked about all of the negatives. Just wanted to give some positives and negatives on both sides. Also - some coaches could possibly be attacking him because he is also profiting (greatly) off of what some would call misinformation.
1 exercise that ruined my athletic life was Jefferson curls. I totally believed in KOT, and was getting results. Then I did Jefferson curls, and he adamantly advertised that they were safe, and I blew up my back. Worst pain ever, couldn’t walk. No surgery though, I refuse. Unfortunately I got repeat back injuries twice despite recovering…I was likely just addicted to working out. I fixed myself through professional PT but I’ll likely never get back to where I was. I’m skeptical at everything he says now. His way of preaching and pure belief in his system borders on cult leader. He is a Scientologist after all.
@ he did advocate weighted though. And like all back injuries, you realize what you did wrong after the injury. Blame is on KOT, don’t blame the victim, pal.

You went too heavy--simple as that. You can get snapped up on anything if you do too much weight. I bet if started with no weight and then 5 pounds, 10 etc. and slowly built up from there over a year or two you can get back to where you were. People have done this with over bodyweight without problems.
@@ianlewis5910my back was all screwed up before I started them. I built up slowly over a year of Jefferson curls and now can do 135lbs for 20 reps almost elbows to toes. Slow controlled reps over weight helped
