    Question: Does this work with the Bambu Labs P1S? Also, is it compatible with the Bambu Labs AMS system as an alternative to add more 4 spools of filament to your 3d printer?

    • @williamsteele
      @williamsteele 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, the same installation works on any of the Bambu X or P series. It's possible (but not recommended) to use both on the same machine... the gcode is extremely difficult for those that don't understand it.

    Hey. So I found your company a year ago and wanted to pick the unit up, received a fairly terse response when I reached out for information but I was still interested in giving the thing a try. Now I have a Sovol SV08 (Voron clone, crazy upgrade from a freaking CR-10v2) and remembered you guys but realized I haven't heard anything from/about you in a long time. Are you guys still around? I assume the unit is compatible with Klipper, are there existing CADs for the stealthburner?

    • @williamsteele
      @williamsteele 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sure we're still around. We have published mounts for the SV-08, however, I'm not aware of anyone one doing a specific filament cutter (3DClippy) for the Stealthburner... but there is a alternate extruder for the Voron with an integrated cutter (similar to the Bambu design.) But for everything else, it's just using our normal kit and a couple of printed parts that are available on Printables. Also, the community has developed some great Klipper macros specifically for it.

    I might try this on one of my 2 Ankermake M5 machines. Now I do prefer to use their slicer, Amkermake Studio. I do use Cura and also the Prusa Slcier for some other printers I run. Actually the Ankermake Studio slicer is based off of the Prusa so I wonder if that will help. The Ankermake M5 is a direct extruder, will that be a benefit. I can, easily, bypass the run out sensor by just putting filament in the sensor so it detect filament.

    • @3d_chameleon
      @3d_chameleon 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ankermake Studio breaks the ability to multi-color printing... you need to use PrusaSlicer for it. (They have no way of adding additional extruders to it... it's grayed out.)

    How are you routing the wires for the switch? From the video it disappears around the back of the switch to the left and then comes out above the poop chute. Did you have to remove the panels? I have a P1S that I am currently installing on.

    • @3d_chameleon
      @3d_chameleon 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you remove (or just loosen) the back panel, there is a nice clear path for it to go inside and route to the slot where you adjust the tension.

    Can it be compacted inside a P1S?

    • @williamsteele
      @williamsteele 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm not sure what you're asking. It can be installed on any of the Bambu X and P series printers... and there is a stealth installation, where the Y adapter is on the back instead of inside it, so the top cover can still be utilized.

    • @Stinkfoot1403
      @Stinkfoot1403 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

    • @williamsteele

      The Tinkercad files for the 3DClippys that we have published show the full assemblies for them. They won't be on our website as they are open source projects and each designer will have their own variations, so there isn't a single set of instructions that can cover all the variations. Our generic designs are a good place to start. These are all very simple and should be pretty obvious once you see how it works.

      We have a video on how to cut new tubes in this playlist... And to insert them, you can simply loosen the 4 screws around the extruder which will allow you to pull out the old tubes and insert the new ones. As for the Ender 3 V2, it's on Printables... It's the blue one that is rotated 90 degrees to avoid the Z screw.

    Getting closer to a great solution , but maybe it’s time to ditch that multistage Y feeder arrangement on the Chameleon and just get a Bambu 4-1 PTFE adaptor, as it’s lighter, simpler to configure (lengths are the same) and looks neater.

    • @williamsteele
      @williamsteele 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're free to do that, but I'm not going to change our design, that's akin to McDonalds changing the golden arches to something else. We've used our Y adapter since before any of those other companies existed... it's our trademark. As for the distances... I'm a little confused as to why you'd think you'd need to change the distances for each tube, as all 4 tubes should be identical, so it is 100% the same configuration. In fact, you can actually use our configuration (gcode) with their 4 to 1 unmodified and it'll still work 100% the same.

    very nice video, im thinking about getting the 3D chameleon. but, it would be nice to watch an installation video up close vs 10 feet away

    I got one this week, unfortunately, even after checking this, the extruder still doesn't load my fillament, it just slides in it.

    I am setting up my 3D Chameleon. It seems to retract a little less than it loads each time. After I cycle through the colors a few times it will finally reach a point were it has not retracted far enough for the next color to load. After they crash it no longer knows where anything is. Is there a way to fix this. MK3 firmware in mode 2.

      That's not a bug, it's by design. In Mode 2, we load 11" but only unload 10" because the extruder makes up for the rest. If you are testing by hand, it will walk up that way. In Mode 3, you need to adjust the timing to match your actual distances.

      @williamsteele great thanks for the clarification. I guess that will get worked out in the gcode while printing. I haven't made it to my first color change. Fighting my offset the couple of times I tried. I have it loading the first color and trying to print.

      @@williamsteeleI am planning to get one mk3. Going to pair it with FLSun SR, and klipper. Is there any good documentation, forum post, or else to control the unit via GPIO? I would use klipper's output_pin with custom macros for T0 T1 T2 T3 commands instead of slicer settings (btw that's Orca). Am I on the right path or not?

    I would assume use it in much the same way and run the longer ptfe through the attached port on my p1s without modification, correct?
