How is this spool rewinder kept from rewinding the filament back beyond the standard 1 inch behind the y pipe where they would need to be for the 3d chameleon to successfully reload?
Hi Bill I've watched several of the videos for the 3D Chameleon and although there are videos that show a single color change in the layer, I've not seen any examples of models being printed with more than one color change in a given layer. I've also been wondering about the workflow of creating multiple color changes in either Cura or PrusaSlicer. Do you have any videos showing multiple color changes per layer along with the slicer workflow?
Look at the Prusa Mini and the Ender 5 videos... It prints for over 4 hours and every color is on every layer. As for the workflow... It's just PrusaSlicer... There is nothing more to do... Load the files, pic the colors and print. I have a video on it as well. Check out the 3DChameleon Mk3 Installation video playlist for several helpful videos.
I might add, this very video shows it changing to every color on every layer. 😂 Each of those test chips are printed in different colors on every layer. You can download that very profile for the Prusa Mini.

Just friction keeps it in place... but I've never had issues with it.
