I mean ... patchouli is commonly used in the amber accord but not all ambers absolutely have to wear patchouli. I'm jealous that you live in AK. Winter down here is now a depressing mess of a joke, just a bunch of ice, mud, grey days, fog, and if it does snow it turns into a slushy mess immediately. I hate it and might have to move farther north one day. I enjoy a nice warm day but then I'm ready for the cold, and it doesn't really happen anymore. Bois d'Armenie! I LOVE that one. Gosh that is another Guerlain wears like a dream perfume. Yeah I think they d'c'd that one we're lucky to have it, and you are so generous to have shared ... but I know EXACTLY how your hoarder soul felt. But you are doing the world of good to give her the good stuff so she has a reference. And Tabu ... wish I worked from home so I could go around in a real fragrance like that during the day haha.

Oh the SL's I could have included them too but my list was getting unwieldly:) So many people mention the Dior I really do hope to test that one out someday. And the YD is another one, I have the bath oil version, it is such a treat to wear but I've been neglecting that one ... I should probably pull it out so it can see the daylight. Hey Robin:) Nice to see you. You are the second person to mention Euphoria Pure Gold, I may have to see if I can get my hands on that one one day. I do like the Amber Gold.

Coco really is everything sometimes in winter when I wear her I have the cognizant though that I can ignore all my other bottles the perfume is that good! And it's so nice to hear that you know what I'm saying about the Shalimar PDT ... wears like a dream and is perfectly blended, too. Amber Sultan is another good one. I remember first trying that one and I felt like my skin was on fire! It was overwhelming but in a good way though. And you are right I really need to start wearing my stuff. I am getting a lot better about that as I want to enjoy what I have, but Samsara in particular is so special to me that I am protective of that one. But, it's a really nice flanker and tomorrow is not guaranteed:) Thanks for the note Julia always nice to hear from you.

You may like that one, the Anne Pliska. It has its bitterness from the geranium but the patchouli is the sink your teeth into it kind.

I've been eyeing that one as I love the notes ... tuberose & fragipani & woody vetiver & iris sounds so interesting. What do you think of it! Maybe I could send you a vial of the Absolu before you commit, I like it a lot but it's a strange one for sure.

Hi Ana I'm glad someone else who has the CK! It's a bit of sleeper! The incense resin thing does really set it apart. I'll have to look into the Gold one as I like the scent of dates. I feel like I used to have the Halston Amber...that one is also solid. Thank you for sharing, I feel like we both like some of the older ones:)

@@deceive4258 I think it would smell wonderful on a man. It has a bit of jasmine and cherry blossom but it is bright white with musk and hedione. Very nice on anyone.

@@DD-nu8jt Hi DD. I love original Shalimar the best so while I like the flankers they do not match up to the Queen! And Amouage IX is nuclear strength rough around the edges super perfume! It's crazy that it's even bottled. I like it but it's almost hard to wear. Thank you for the note & hope you are well:)

@@pinki3dt I'm relieved to hear that I've not steered you wrong that is a lot of pressure! And I have a soft spot for Wild Musk. The bottle I have is 10 years old and still has oakmoss so not reformulated to death yet.

Hi Kathy. I've done the same. I used to follow a lot more, now I feel that a lot of it is selling & redundancy. I'll probably always have a few that I listen to but a lot of it is too much.

That is so funny that you found me there! Small world. Fragrantica used to have a much different feel, it's just a website but it's changed. I don't know. I like writing reviews but I don't bother with forums anymore (for one thing they are so clunky) but I'm not compelled to add much on there, only occasionally if that. I'm sorry that you're dealing with health issues. It really is frustrating and tiring having things go on in your own body that are mostly out of your control. Thanks for the note and I promise I'll not rasp my nails against any bottles. If I do call me out immediately!

Hey Mamoni. If I saw a video with all that combined I couldn't take it that is WAY too much. I've seen the whispering and it's like just talk in your regular voice we're not playing telephone here! Thank you for the compliment as I feel very tired these days! Before the pandemic I would wear makeup maybe once a week as a treat, but after masking for a few years I just totally got out of the habit and haven't picked it back up. I appreciate those who take the effort and this is not a dig on them at all, just the excess of it all do you really need 65 products on your face to look nice or is it just the consumption tempting you to do more more more? I'm 45 and feel the fed - up I get there way faster these days!

Hey Shirley! That is actually a good idea. Sometimes I have Shalimar days where I won't directly layer, but I'll put one on, then another concentration, then another flanker ... and somehow they all compliment each other. I haven't done that with the Iris yet, though.

Hey Julia. Thanks for the note. I'm really glad that I like this year's better but they'll never top OG Shalimar. Maybe ... maybe I don't need the flankers? Oh who am I kidding I'll still get next year's bottles. I used to watch a LOT more perfume content but I also have started stepping away and not really clicking on a lot of channels that I used to automatically watch all the way through. The constant barrage of NEWNEWNEW is a bit much for me, as well. And I plan to keep making videos so I'll still be here!

Hi Gail:) I admit that I'm such a Guerlain Girl that I'll just blindly buy every year's Shalimar. And while I like this year's a lot ... I do not think that it's an OMG EVERYBODY GET OUT THEIR WALLETS RIGHT NOW!!! Level of amazing. Reacquainting with what one already has is such a nice process too like seeing an old friend. Also, it allows you to thoughtfully remove some scents from your space without a frenzied purge. Thanks for the note, I appreciate it!

That is weird I don't do anything that would have a comment deleted, thank you for retyping! I did not realize that the nail clacking was a thing until I started seeing it everywhere and then I couldn't unsee it! Or unhear it. As well as using about half a cup of product when a dab will do ya! Did you ever get to try the Iris from last year? It's actually a nice perfume but heavy on the maltol. It's not really Shalimar at all which is a bonus for some people. OOOhhhh I might have to find the EDP of the Trussardi Donna. Is it better than the EDT? I really enjoy the EDT, it's so refreshing and easy on the nerves. And it's affordable.

Truthfully I'm in menopause and I am very tired painful and just burned out from nearly everything! I feel awful. I'm glad that you are feeling better though and we have to do what we have to do in order to get through. We'll get through our midlife crisis together! I am starting to remove things I watch too as it leads to over consumption. Even mindless scrolling on Reddit, or oh I just want to look at dresses on Lulus or perfume on Fragrantica .... well I could also be doing a chore or reading a book or even watching a show that is more productive that the mindlessness that leads to the want. @june1319 Hi June! I started going though the process right at 40. Unfortunately it can take up to 8 to 10 years, and I'm 45 now. Some women sail though with zero issues and some have every symptom in the book like I do! It's hell! I look more haggard IRL my phone automatically smooths out a few things I think🤣 I started early but it's possible for it to begin when it did. Don't worry too much it may be nothing for you♥️

Honestly I don't think so. The Philtre is the most iris heavy Shalimar they made in my opinion (even more than the Millesime Iris) and the Souffle was a musky, lighter, orange blossom & jasmine. No leather to speak of, and less vanilla with that one ... the Souffle is so musky.

The bottles are so cute! Could you imagine how much they'd sell if they had 10 ml sprays! That said as an extra sample they are nice. The 1.35 oz bottle is a nice compromise but if money was no option not going to lie I'd just get the tumblers of perfume! The Dioriviera sounds so pretty, rose with a fig overtone, is it beautiful?
