I LOVE your videos, your style, your down to Earth vibe. You are clearly very knowledgable but I can tell have a serious passion for perfumes. You always show something I have never heard of before! Hopefully you post another video soon. :)
I've been eyeing that one as I love the notes ... tuberose & fragipani & woody vetiver & iris sounds so interesting. What do you think of it! Maybe I could send you a vial of the Absolu before you commit, I like it a lot but it's a strange one for sure.
Hi Wendi - I discovered your channel recently and subscribed. Love the way you talk about perfume and your fab collection! I enjoyed your history bit about Shalimar parfum de toilette! I have Shalimar edp but I don’t wear it often - I feel it wears me - but it’s such a beautiful gem of a perfume!
@@danielac4673 Hi Daniela thank you for the note and the kind words. And oh Shalimar. Such a classic glad you enjoy her too. I don't wear that one all the time but it's always so nice to do so.
@ I have a feeling you get uncomfortable about me asking for your email address. I left some comments on a prior video. I wanted to send some PR your way that didn’t work for me but it was crickets. 🦗I promise no altering motive. But we can privately swap our info on email and not here. That’s all: if you’d like to do a little sample swap just email me ok? 😉
@ThePerfumeNest Absolutely! Honestly my email is my first and last name which are unique. So I didn't want it posted publically for too long. I'll email you and we can do it that way😊
"heavy on the everything..." hahaha! You said it! I love Coco and wore it when it came out in the 80s was it? I still have a bottle in my collection. I also love that you are into vintages; I think I have said this before. Shalimar PDT is so darn good and I have many vintage versions of Shalimar since it was one of my frequent flyers back when I wore only two or three perfumes at a time. I have never tried Samsara Shine. Since it has gotten a little cooler I have worn Boyfriend, Amber Sultan and Carven's Sao Paulo as far as ambers go. I am trying to wear something different every day since my collection is large and I do not want to have perfumes I do not love. Wear your perfumes Wendi and enjoy them! That Shine is near full so you do not need to worry you will run out any time soon. I often feel that way too and then I realized what is the point of a bunch of boxed full bottle backups I may never get to, so I just decided to wear what I have and if it gets to 1/4 inch left, then I can rebuy and not before. Take care! oxJulia
Coco really is everything sometimes in winter when I wear her I have the cognizant though that I can ignore all my other bottles the perfume is that good! And it's so nice to hear that you know what I'm saying about the Shalimar PDT ... wears like a dream and is perfectly blended, too. Amber Sultan is another good one. I remember first trying that one and I felt like my skin was on fire! It was overwhelming but in a good way though. And you are right I really need to start wearing my stuff. I am getting a lot better about that as I want to enjoy what I have, but Samsara in particular is so special to me that I am protective of that one. But, it's a really nice flanker and tomorrow is not guaranteed:) Thanks for the note Julia always nice to hear from you.
Always excited to see you've posted ! I have the Euphoria PURE GOLD and I absolutely love it ! It has that stewed fruit accord, heavy on the date & a tad leathery. It's nothing like the original Euphoria, which I wore moons ago.
Hey Robin:) Nice to see you. You are the second person to mention Euphoria Pure Gold, I may have to see if I can get my hands on that one one day. I do like the Amber Gold.
I have the Calvin Klein, used only on cold weather. Quite arab-ish scent, long lasting and pleasantly incensy/sweet. My favorite of those Euphoria flankers is the pure gold one (white bottle), so delicious with a strong sweetness of dates. So good! I also started wearing Tabu (there's one by Dana called Navy that's also ambery), Bal à Versailles, Joop femme, Krazy Krizia, Amber by Halston (5*), Anne Klein 2, Givenchy Pi...
Hi Ana I'm glad someone else who has the CK! It's a bit of sleeper! The incense resin thing does really set it apart. I'll have to look into the Gold one as I like the scent of dates. I feel like I used to have the Halston Amber...that one is also solid. Thank you for sharing, I feel like we both like some of the older ones:)
Hi Wendy. Every time I see one of your videos, I know I’m going to get off of here and go to eBay and buy a bottle of perfume lol. That’s exactly what I did. I got a little bottle of the Shalimar that you were talking about! I already know I’m going to love it because our taste in perfume is the same. Shalimar happens to be one of my favorites, and I’m happy to get this in my collection.
Wait what?! Patchouli is part of amber accords? Hanging my head is shame-I thought it was just the vanilla, laudanum and benzoin sweet notes that made amber amber. Wendi to the ignorance rescue…..I feel guilty (no not at all) I can wear amber all year round, up in alaska. My latest fall-heavily-into-a-frag has been guerlain’s bois d’Armenie. Oh man I even decanted a 10 ml for a coworker because she likes it so much. Little did I know that the dang thing has been recently discontinued from what I can tell. My hoarder souled cringed. But a promise is a promise and by George if I can steer her clear of her initio’s it’s a sacrifice I am willing to make……shout out to Tabu….and awww an angel got his wings. You and you alone are stocking the pearly gates with Annick goutal references!
I mean ... patchouli is commonly used in the amber accord but not all ambers absolutely have to wear patchouli. I'm jealous that you live in AK. Winter down here is now a depressing mess of a joke, just a bunch of ice, mud, grey days, fog, and if it does snow it turns into a slushy mess immediately. I hate it and might have to move farther north one day. I enjoy a nice warm day but then I'm ready for the cold, and it doesn't really happen anymore. Bois d'Armenie! I LOVE that one. Gosh that is another Guerlain wears like a dream perfume. Yeah I think they d'c'd that one we're lucky to have it, and you are so generous to have shared ... but I know EXACTLY how your hoarder soul felt. But you are doing the world of good to give her the good stuff so she has a reference. And Tabu ... wish I worked from home so I could go around in a real fragrance like that during the day haha.
Nice pics and video Wendy. My favourite Amber perfumes are Dior Amber Nuit, also I adore Serge Lutens Chergui, Amber Sultan. Patchouli by Reminiscence is special to me also.. the old Youth Dew and just like you even The old Tabu and go full on with it.. it doesn’t bother me.. I have the same Vintage Bottle 😊🥹
Oh the SL's I could have included them too but my list was getting unwieldly:) So many people mention the Dior I really do hope to test that one out someday. And the YD is another one, I have the bath oil version, it is such a treat to wear but I've been neglecting that one ... I should probably pull it out so it can see the daylight. Thanks for the note Shirley!

I just bought Prada La Femme Intense. The Absolu sounds amazing because I love forest-y frags.

I LOVE chocolate-y patchouli. That 80's perfume I have never heard of!
You may like that one, the Anne Pliska. It has its bitterness from the geranium but the patchouli is the sink your teeth into it kind.
“Every time I say Annick Goutal, an angel gets its wings.” LOL
Love ya, Wendi!

I know it has to be exactly right! Sickening in warmer or humid weather.
Yes Coco Mme and Angel...the OG fruitchouli's. :)

Samsara Shine??????
TABU!!!!!!
Totally agree re: Coco (the OG--I'm a fan of the EDP and EDT). The Mademoiselle isn't as good for me, but I'm picky about patchouli.
I also really like Ambre Mystique! Highly underrated EL!
It really is and it was such an affordable find too. Performance is amazing as well:)
