How I Changed My Shape and Health: My Journey to a Stronger Me
In the beginning, finding a bathing suit that fit was a challenge, but that’s where my journey started. Now, 70 pounds down and completely reshaped, I’m not just about the numbers on the scale-I’m about feeling good and living a drug-free, healthy lifestyle. 💪🏻Women over 40 don’t have to rely on medication when there’s a better way. I feel obligated to share this because I’ve heard from so many who’ve transformed their lives, too. My advice? Believe in yourself and never shy away from the hard work. A strong woman is one who faces the struggle and keeps pushing forward. :💫

Oh gosh! Hi Coach Joan ma'am! Is this also for men? I am in my 30s and started workout with my grandma who is 79! But I cannot manage even 10 minutes of her workout session. She lifts very heavy dumbbells and works out for an hour!! Her biceps are thick like yours and rock hard, and she is immensely strong! I feel really low and defeated :(

I have been exercising since I was in the fifth grade. I was a sprinter body builder. I started and stopped exercising over the years but now at 55 I won’t stop anymore. I cannot believe what my body can still do. Sprinting is something I thought i would never do but I’m doing it. I plan to keep running until I hit the coffin.

Here is a question. I have had a stubborn back pain in my upper paraspinal area to the right of my back bone. I’ve managed it and sometimes it even goes away, but it always seems to come back. That is what scares me about weights. I so want to be you! So last week I started with a new personal trainer who is wonderful. She’s my age, I’m 69, and she gets it. But the very first things I did, particularly one set of pulling which is weight-bearing brought my back pain back again. My question is did you have any recurring pains that somehow are you fixed? If I get this back pain, it’s it’s not good and it stops me from doing things and I want to be able to keep going. I’d love to hear what you have to say. PS did you ever have anything like acid reflux and if so, how did you fix it? I think I heard that you did have that in another video. Thank you.

Well I have been a lot fitter than I am now. Not overweight by any means, but work does hold me back from the exercise I need to do. However, even at my best when I used to be stopped for modeling jobs all the time in London, and Toronto, Canada... never, never, never would I consider being photographed, even for my own wedding. I can't stand cameras... so I applaud Joan. I could not do that... be modeling in front of a camera. I would prefer a phone with no camera feature. Not for a million dollars could I do what Joan does in her modelling. Kudos Joan.. you are a brave woman.

I started my new journey a week ago. I know I don’t want to be old and frail after being the caregiver for my husband who has passed. I want to be the best I can be in every thing I do. I’m enjoying my life right now and refuse to not give it my all.
