When I was on a calorie deficit, my morning was, coffee with oat milk, 2 eggs, and a plate of celery, sweet red pepper, and chopped apple. After I lost 40 lbs, my trainer bumped up my calories up because I was going heavier in weight training. Now I've added oatmeal and blueberries in my breakfast. I just turned 70 and I've been with a trainer 1 1/2 years. What I'm finding is, an older body responds slower. I have to be patient. I was a sedentary office worker and was never an athlete, so my body is slowly transforming with this new lifestyle. Thank you for your inspiration ❤️
take baby steps, one thing, start at one minute and if you go over that bonus but one minute is doable and you will feel good about one minute because you did it and when it feels like a good habit, add another thing to do
You have a good routine to start the day! I get up at 4 am, make up the bed, feed the pup, have a cup of coffee while doing my devotional, then lift weights, followed by walking the pup, then getting ready for work. I love working out in the morning because it isn't competing with the rest of my day. Happy Friday!
I'm a newly retired RN. I'll be 67 in May. Struggling to get off of the night shift (7p-7a) after 44 years. It has never been easy for me to rise early in the morning. I've just discovered you. It's time to get off my ass. I've been working on a healthier diet, having many fails along the way. I'm feeling more motivated after watching you! Any inspiration is welcome.
Hi Joan, my routine is getting up at 5:00. I feed my two dogs homemade food which takes a little time then I have coffee while hubby makes the bed. Then I have my hot millet cereal with pecans, cinnamon and flax seed. My Bible study is next then I am off getting ready for work. I have a Salon so I am on my feet all day. Then I am off to the gym.
You are my current role model, Joan! I am 70 and in pretty good shape; no weight to lose, but way too much fat on arms and belly. I would love to have your arms when I'm 75! Thanks for your great heart.
So empowering, I’m 64 and fiercely protect my morning routine. ( mine is similar) I’m a runner (100k/month)and do strength training, working on my lifts, at 55 lbs. Thanks for sharing your time, it’s helpful to see older women who are fit and passionate about it. Not enough of us out there!
I wake up in the first thing to do is make my bed! Then I let my dog out and feed her… Then I get dressed for the gym and I go work out… That has been my routine for over 30 years! Best way to start the day!!
I’m doing nothing. NOTHING! But you are kickin my 55 year old ass. I’ve been thinking of training to get back in shape, but I visualize my fitness routine without taking action. 😢 Perhaps if I follow you daily I’ll get my middle aged, over weight butt up and moving! Thx for the inspiration. Keep up the amazing work! 💜
Same here, watching doing nothing ! There is a senior walking video on you tube that’s awesome and you walk to oldie music. Even my 40 year old daughter had a hard time keeping up. I think I’m gonna start by committing to that for 20 minutes for the month of May 3x week…
I also make my bed first. then I exercise for 30-45 minutes. My routines vary from cardio to weights and sometimes a mix of both. Then I have greens with coconut milk and fruit in a blender. My routine after this varies, errands, language studies (spanish), meet up with friends, etc. I’m retired so I just enjoy life at 70. You are me...
Thank you for sharing! I’m 60 years of age, and have been working out for a month now. Learning tips from you, allows me to go at a healthy and mindful pace. You are my perfect inspiration. Again, thank you!
You are so inspiring! Yes...I have a strong a.m. routine - make bed, make coffee, let cat out, brush teeth, journaling, create 5 wins for the day card, shower & dress, study Spanish, and then study English for enhanced vocabulary. I did the 5 am. Club, but now upped it to the 4:00 a.m. Club. Love all the extra time to deep dive into life! Keep up your great work.
I start every morning with a 20 minute, one mile walk with my dog. Three days a week I follow this up with 20 minutes of yoga. Every afternoon I repeat my 20 minute walk. Then it's time for breakfast which is alternating either oatmeal or fiber one cereal with almond milk and fruit. Then I follow the cereal up with a slice of Ezekiel flourless bread with butter and two, sometimes three eggs. I finish it off with coffee and an almond creamer and vitamins. I'm retired, 72 and feel great. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and routine.
14 min lucy Wyndham Reed, oatmeal, chia seeds,flaxseed,1 walnut ,oatmilk ,berry's and 3 dried prunes then get my steps to 10 thousand ,I live in UK I'm 62 .then look after my 2 Yr old granddaughter that keeps me active and says I'm not old.
I ❤️ Lucy WyndhamReed , I have been watching/ doing her workouts finding her last year, I’m in the US. I love the low impact, her encouragement, every week a new video! So much to mention!!
OK, starting a new morning routine tomorrow! Wake and up at 7:30. Put my gym clothes on, walk the dog, fill water bottle, get out to walk by 8:00, back at 9:00 on Thursday & Friday, Sat, Sun, scheduled moved up 15 min to be at my desk working at 9:00 on Mon, Tues, Wed. Going to add oatmeal to my breakfast with wild blueberries, orange juice with Spirulina and then my protein meal with cheeries, strawberries, coconut mile and pea protein later in the morning. Green tea and water the rest of the day until early dinner. Not sure when I will work in a late lunch, and maybe I will just do an early dinner. Lots of things to work out. I will make sure to eat my protein and green carbs! Then in a week I am going to add lower body, upper body and core exercises. Starting slowly until my broken rib is healed. My why for today and the next few weeks is to strengthen the muscles to alleviate lower back pain. My constant why is to age healthier, feel better, and not suffer from preventable health issues so I can see my Grandchildren grow up! Thank you for your inspiration.
Nice to see your routine!! Mine is similar. Up at 4:30. Meditation, journaling, yoga. Plann and check calendar. Then make bed, put in a load of laundry, empty dishwasher, get dressed, walk the dog, if it’s cardio day we run a little. Have oatmeal for breakfast. Clean a little. Water the plants. Do weights if weight day. I’m 59. Just retired
I’m finding your videos so inspiring! I’m a 70 yo with chronic conditions and little energy, and seeing the muscles you’ve built is so motivating! Bravo!
I use to follow you few years ago but got new phones anyway following you again 😊 looks like The most recent video you have made is a year old 😔 please I hope to see more new videos how you are doing know God bless you Joan and God bless your sweet daughter for helping You get healthy and fit ✝ ❤🙏
Love your routine! I also make my bed straight away, take my rx and supplements, drink 16oz of filtered room temp water, make a cup of warm lemon/ginger water, grab my journal, & head to my meditation seat. I’ll meditate either silently or guided for anywhere from 10-20 minutes. After I review inspiration from a book, on IG or TH-cam (such as this video). Finally I journal before heading to Yoga (recently finished my 200hr YTT at age 63). You are such an inspiration to me and I hope to come up Tulum to see you soon!! Just need to add better eating habits into my lifestyle! Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
Your such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing with us. I’ve always been athletic and very active. When I hit that dreaded 50 and I cried like a baby for weeks, things started to change, my knees hurt my hips hurt all of the sudden I began gaining weight that I could not loose and was full of inflammation. Being a functional Nutrition Practitioner I knew I was out of balance and had to do something. Although I knew food could heal me I was not trained to understand Macros and how that could be such a game changer. I decided to join Beachbody for accountability and to learn how to eat the right amount of macros for my changing body. I love that you didn’t just say “well I’m 70 now that’s just how it’s going to be”. So many of my patients have that attitude and it makes me so angry. We can age and still lead a vibrant life if we choose to honor our body and take care of it. You rock Joan! May our Heavenly Father bless and keep you
I wake up at 5:15, listen to motivational TH-cam videos while I get ready, walk 15 mins to an outdoor bootcamp at a lake near me and then sit & enjoy the lake afterwards or walk home with fellow classmates. I used to never be a morning person!
Hello, I just found you, after reading an article on Zoomer that I receive regularly. Cheers from Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada ❤️ I'm very happy to have found you. I was working on establishing a morning routine. At the age of 66, my husband and I have separated, and I've gotten off track with many things that are good for me. Grieving and finding my way with each passing week and month. Now I've found you, which I'm sure will inspire me to take better care of my health and well-being, as I begin a new chapter. Thank you. xx
Thank u for sharing your morning routine. Although it may seem a simple thing it is so very important to have structure! I’m 63, not in bad shape but going there…until I saw you! New follower!
Hi Joan Loved this morning routine. I have had depression for many years and have recently turned it around substantially with starting my day for better mental health. First thing, I try not to sleep in or lie in bed too long as those negative thoughts start to creep up. I get up, make my bed. Put the kettle on to make a healthy green tea.Get changed. Do some stretching and mindfulness for about 10 mins. That gets me going straight away. X
I'm inspired by your transformation . About a couple of months ago my dog's hind legs went limp. So my morning routine is setting my alarm for around 5:30am to go pray over him, spend time with God and reading His Word. Then I do some cardio. But I am looking to add strengthening exercises so I will be watching more of your videos. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Hi Joan, I haven’t perfected my morning routine due to back issues, but working on it. I get up try to meditate in prayer, have coffee, do worded , elevate and duo lingo. I then get to physical therapy, do my stretching and exercise. Everyday is different. I am a work in progress! Thank you Joan for sharing❤️
What an inspiration! Thanks for sharing your routine. I’m 65 and started my journey almost a year ago. I’m stronger than ever and I look forward to seeing your videos to keep me on track.
Thank you Joan for sharing your morning routine. I love it! My "Yoga with Adriene" is my morning routine. I don't miss a single episode. Then a nice savoury breakfast which usually includes some veggies such as red and yellow peppers, tomatoes, cucumber, some Greek feta cheese, black olives and one slice of multi grain sourdough bread. I must have my black tea in the morning! lol! I recently started strength training with a personal trainer. I don't need to loose weight, just want to get stronger and build more muscle mass. Could you kindly share the measurements of your oats, eggs whites, coconut milk and protein powder breakfast? I'd love to know. Thanks very much. You are a true inspiration!
Sorry about such a late reply, not sure what you can eat but I’ll give it to you anyway: WomensBest protein powder. 13 gr Egg whites 56ml Oatmeal dry original 38gr Pumpkin cooked optional. 50gr Applesauce. 30gr Coconut milk, drinking. 120ml You can put different fruit with it instead of what I had or chopped nuts if your macros allow it plus cinnamon and sugar free syrup
You look fantastic. I am 61 and I want to get in shape. I have chronic pain, depression and anxiety because of it. You are an inspiration for sure. I’m wondering what I can do to get a quick start on being healthier and getting off so many darn medication’sthanks for sharing your videos and God bless you.
Make the bed, Wim Hoff breathing, meditation, Journaling plus set my day of intentions ✨️ followed by yoga an ballet (from ballet based movement) this strengthened my ankles an turned my life around 😀 loved your videos truly inspirational
Wow, so inspiring Joan! You are such an example of how it is never too late. I have so many friends that are folding over into they are getting old mentality and that they will just naturally get the P.A.D(Pain, Aging and Disease). This does not have to be the case! Thank you for this video and being a shining light of healthy aging! 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
Good Morning!!!!…. Queen Joan!!!!❤️❤️❤️so glad you made a new video!!’….love it!! My morning routine is get up so 1/2 hour of starching, and about 15 mins of cardio on a power rider… 2 to three boil eggs and on my way to work. It’s hard when you get stuck working 16hrs a day!😞…..but you inspire me to get it together and get back to working out !’…since Covid have really not been back in the gym!!’…..I ise to be in there everyday
Hey I’m Patsy , I’m 66 years old and I wanting to work with weights ,,, I weigh 147 , 5’3 worth out with weights at age 26-32 ,,, I’m ready to start back for my health and because I want to be stronger thank you for sharing
I start my morning with my energize and some reading while that kicks in. I don’t make my bed because there’s someone still in it lol…I’m the first one up. But I definitely would! It’s the first win of your day…then I work out…drink my recover and have breakfast! Morning movement sets me up for the rest of the day!
Great idea. My morning routine: smile happy with your be here,,pray faith declaration, meditate, prime, gratitude journal, count blessings, put pups out & feed them, eat, off to teach Zumba or have fun at water aerobics. ❤ gonna add make my bed 👍
I need to do more in the am but as of now, take care of our dog and bird, get coffee, take medicine. Chill awhile, read then get into the rest of the day.
My morning routine Joan the truth I get up every morning straight to my coffee after my coffee meditate on the word of God I love reading and praying after that I go work out and If I don’t work out at the gym I do something at home it gets my blood flowing and going thank you I like that you fix your bed every morning sometimes I ignore it but I’m going to try to fix it every morning before my coffee😂😂iam 65 Going on 66 in April God willing❤
Hi Joan I've just found your channel from Claire Morrow she suggested I subscribe being around similar ages and I'm so glad I found you. Such an inspiration I look forward to many more tips you may have...much ❤️
I would love a routine like this. Sleeping is difficult due to medication. I get up, get dressed, then feed the dog & cows. Then I figure something out for breakfast. Take meds, supplements.
Hello, you are inspiring and I wish more women would share their stories like this because as we age we feel like the old lady bod is our destiny and even in my 40s I get stuck on this 5lb lose and gain, hours on the treadmill and denying myself everything I like with little to no progress but I can see what I need thru real stories from women who have done it rather than listening to puffed up gym jocks who know nothing about how our bodies function
Thanks Joan! I also journal sometimes in the morning. How long do you wait after you eat to exercise? It was great to see your husband exercising! What breed are those cute puppies? Thanks for all your inspiration!
DDPYOGA, Some mat work and I walk with 3,5 and 10 lb. weights, I do chakra breathing meditation, pray, teach English as a second language, and eat carnivore. I am 72. The yoga helps me after I had a stroke 🥰 Retirement is a blast!
I am a retired teacher. I am 64. My morning routine: Wake up, drink hot water, give mantras and prayers for world peace, make my bed, take a shower, work out for 15 min, eat breakfast.
That's a great morning routine! I would like to know how you deal with stiffness though and aches and pains? I didn't used to get them and now i do. I am 68 and have been weight lifting for many years. Though I don't feel that they are related to the muscles that I feel during workout. It just seems to be like a normal everyday wake up with stiffness and aches and pains thing and I'm wondering if you have that and how you deal with it. I guess not like workout muscle pains just everyday aches and pains lol
I see people saying yoga but I do an hour of treadmill 4 times a week, I lift weights 3 times a week For an hour each time. Plus I hike at least 3 times a Week for 1 through 2 hours a Hike. So as i will continue doing that and then adding the yoga on top of that? How many days a week are you doing yoga?
Hi Joan, I believe when you started your fitness journey, your daughter put you on a strict diet about 900 - 1000 calories per day. My question is if you did any strength training during this period and how long were you on this diet?
Thanks Joan I am 70 and just starting my journey now that I am retired. I would love to know what you eat in a day or just your macros please. Protein grams, carbs, Fats? You have really transformed yourself beautifully ❤
Thank you for sharing your wonderfully inspiring life with us! You are motivating me to get going! Curious what planner you’re using? It looks like a good tool for writing down your daily routine.
my routine is mental work after i notice i am awakening. Affirmations and good intentions for the day and thoughts to create my day and heal my body bless others and send good vibes to the world. Then get up and breath outside. come inside and take my sesame castor coconut body oil to massage my hands and feet to activate my inner organs and move limphatics. Then i go to the kitchen prepare hot cacao. love it ! after, i start my regular activities! blessings. :)
Joan you are such an inspiration💕..i lost weight many yrs ago in my 30's through weight training ...then after a change in careers and the added stress of my profession i got way out of shspe ...so now being post menopausal and 60, i started seight training again and lost 40lbs only problem is my 60 year old skin on the upper arms ...how the heck did you avoid that problem? You look great!😊💪
recomend you use a mix of castor oil and coconut oil on your skin everday massage and also use body scrubs to regenerate skin cells and hidrate much with mineral water. Blessings!

How has your year been so far?
What an inspiration! Thanks for sharing your routine. I’m 65 and started my journey almost a year ago. I’m stronger than ever and I look forward to seeing your videos to keep me on track.
Love you Joan!
Sorry about such a late reply, not sure what you can eat but I’ll give it to you anyway:
WomensBest protein powder. 13 gr
Egg whites 56ml
Oatmeal dry original 38gr
Pumpkin cooked optional. 50gr
Applesauce. 30gr

You can put different fruit with it instead of what I had or chopped nuts if your macros allow it plus cinnamon and sugar free syrup

You got this!❤💪
How has it been going so far?
The dogs are a mix, mother was mostly chihuahua different dads obviously and rescued from the streets at a month or so old😄
Your breakfast in this video looks delicious, I would never have thought to combine them. Can you give me the recipe if it’s ok? Thank you ❤️💪
Great inspiration. How can i get a daily journal book like yours? It looks like it has food, exercise, and extra space each day?? Thank you.

I just found you today Joan, thank you for making your videos. I am from India where very few women lift weights. I am trying to change that!!
Your'e amazing Joan!!! Thanks for sharing. :)
I am a retired teacher. I am 64.
My morning routine:
Wake up, drink hot water, give mantras and prayers for world peace, make my bed, take a shower, work out for 15 min, eat breakfast.
Read dr Stacey sims blog and switch to exercise after eating? Love that you pray for world peace and I’m going to add that to my routine as well
Keep up the good work!❤💪
How’s your workout going so far?
You are a great inspiration! Thank you.
You are an inspiration! I am following!!
Would like more info on how you make your oatmeal and products you use along with details of the other daily meals. ❤️
Good for you, looking great!
Thanks for sharing Joan!
Thanks for watching!
Lots of water and topical magnesium spray helps me.
Yoga 😃
yoga every day and I am 61 with no aches or pains. made a routine just for me using TH-cam.
Moringa supplements there is a wealth of clinical research now. It's known as a superfood an definitely assists with the aches etc. Check it out
Great Joan Wonderful Routine tto start the day!
Thankk you!
Hi Joan, I believe when you started your fitness journey, your daughter put you on a strict diet about 900 - 1000 calories per day. My question is if you did any strength training during this period and how long were you on this diet?
I get up at 6am. Trying for 5:30am. Walk the doggies in the morning. Get stepdaughter ready for school. Workout and followed by 20 minutes of yoga👍
Love it!!
Thanks Joan! 😊
Thanks Joan I am 70 and just starting my journey now that I am retired. I would love to know what you eat in a day or just your macros please. Protein grams, carbs, Fats? You have really transformed yourself beautifully ❤
Excellent!💕
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for sharing your wonderfully inspiring life with us! You are motivating me to get going! Curious what planner you’re using? It looks like a good tool for writing down your daily routine.
Hello 👋
my routine is mental work after i notice i am awakening.
Blessings!
I just kept working out and a lot of areas tightened up but I’m not thinking my body will ever look like it did when I was in my twenties 😄
