Whilst i never liked Tony Blair I have to agree with him. We the U.K. are no longer a world power as in the days of Queen Victoria. We are small fry in a big Pond and in my opinion we’ve just cut our throat by leaving the EU. In years to come when us old buggers are gone, the young if they’ve any sense will seek to rejoin the EU.

Many farmers voted Brexit and for the conservatives. The fishing industry too... Look at Scotland.

Most farmers I’ve e encountered are greedy, selfish Tories who voted for Brexit. Maybe I’m meeting the wrong farmers but that’s my experience having lived in a farming community for over 30 years. They all drive expensive cars, send their children to private schools and don’t give a shit about the rest of us. Cry more.

I think Brexit has basically shown up the asset stripping of the UK since the early days of Thatcher, because we have very little manufacturing left now we were totally reliant on EU imports there weren't the equivalent thousands of lorrys taking our goods the other way, we just paid into the EU, our young weren't going to flock to Europe to work as they don't speak the individual languages required and they were strict about that. The media were to blame for Brexit with constant negative articles over the years but the killer is the neo liberals who wrote all that didn't believe in it themselves! So they got a rude shock when we pulled out.

What is missing from the report are the countries from where the UK imports food. You would think that in a Food Security Index report the source of your food would be important, wouldn't it? There was already a report on this, Food Security Report 2021: Theme 2: UK Food Supply Sources. It shows that the UK imports 60% of all its food from the EU. Also, why is your government doing a UK Food Security Index if you already have a Food Security Report?

I don’t understand why the government does not see that Food Security is a National Security Issue. Possibly the most important one considering that it’s something that’s more likely to be an issue than other security issues that present themselves to the country. The health of the nation is a security concern also - how are we supposed to defend our country if the country is full of malnourished people? But forgetting security issues right now, the country cannot thrive and better itself if the nation is not healthy.

The Tories lied to the farmer, left them in the leach with regard to their promise of giving them, the same benefits as they had while in the EU. And now that UK framing has - due to their brexit - gone belly up; Sunak, has now - with regard to farming - seen the errors of the Tory's ways. So now he will promise the framers - once again - the earth; in the hope, that the farmers will return to the Tory fold.

Blair wasn't perfect, however it could be said at least he wasn't an epic disaster which the entire bunch after him have been. Corbyn if anything was guilty of not bringing the media into line and politicians fear them even more ever since- eg Starmer. Brits as a whole, not just farmers and fishermen, should be wary of who really is their enemy. It is the Rupert Murdochs, Steve Bannons, Roger Stones and their paymasters who live in tax havens who they have to fear. They will manipulate Nigel Farrage into the Tory party next and they will hound labour for the next 5 years.

Why don't these pro -brexiteers get it through their heads if Starmer gets in. He wants to use UK funds to nationalise not reinstate us in the EU.
