Hahaha "with the help of my wife I managed to get the pillow inside the bag". Great job by the wife! And lucky you to have one, or footage would still be shaky, I'm sure.
Can you do an update of this video using zoom? Please! Thank you😊
Can you select camera mic over iPad mic as source?
Hey i want to remove the mic holder. Did i cover it with something? What can i do to cover that part
I just unscrewed the two tiny screws that hold the mic holder on, then put them in a zip lock bag so I didn’t lose them. I didn’t bother covering up the tiny holes that remained
If i have mars1 as trasmitter, then my ipad as a receiver can preview live through apps without mars 4k?

Why do you use magnetic ND filters when the FX6 has internal ND's?
I was wondering the same thing. Only example I can think of is if you need a stronger ND
Two reasons why you'd use ND on an FX6 - you want more than 7 stops of ND (EG: shooting F1.4 during midday sun because the client loves bokeh) - you are having issues with the internal ND (EG: polarisation issues shooting into water that wouldn't happen with a 'basic' ND) I've never personally experienced the second issue, but I do sometimes hit the first issue. Also, if you think you will need more than 5 stops you can put a 3 stop ND on there, then you get 5-10 stops from the internal system so it gives you wiggle room Aside from that 'ND on FX6', the other reasons I have filters on the sony lenses is - I sometimes use a diopter ("close up") filter to get closer focusing, especially since I sold my macro lens, or when using anamorphic which has generally horrific minimum focus distance - I often use a glow filter because I love the look of them - I use ND on these if I mount the lens to an FX3 instead of the FX6
@@Isaac_Insoll ah that make sense, thanks for explaining :)
You speak so lowly!!! 😂😂😂
Maybe if you were watching at 0.25x 🤣
@@Isaac_Insoll hahahahaha 😒😒😂😂😂🖖🏻
Has anyone had issues with this garage door opener not connecting to the router? Especially after a power cycle, this is such a nuisanse
I've had this for about 8 months now and there was one time (about 6 months ago) where it dropped off the network, so i just unplugged the power and plugged it back in. Aside from that once incident it has been perfect the whole time
Why mate, why are you talking so fast? Are you in a hurry? Great review tho 😁.
I'm working on it, i swear! I think years of watching TH-cam at 1.5x has warped my mind
@@Isaac_InsollNo worries. Always time to get better 👊.
Great video, With your set up do you experience any challeges like overheating while shooting 4k:)
I have no issues shooting 25p for long periods of time, but there is definitely issues shooting 50p for longer periods. My latest video on the channel (FX6 long term review) I had the X-H2 as A cam and X-T4 as B cam. The X-H2 went forever but after 45 mins I was getting low battery and overheat warnings on the X-T4. I realised that I had accidentally left it in 50p mode and shot a long video. Aside from that, no overheating issues.
You said if its plugged in it can go for 2 hours straight, but isn't the ZVE10 supposed to be able to go for 13 hours straight in 4K?
Honestly I don't own the ZVE10, I was just setting it up for my friends studio. I feel like the runtime would be limited by so many factors including ambient temperature and I've never personally tested the runtime so I can't answer that.
Will there still be a delay if the monitor is plugged into the camera?
There are two delays going on: 1. a tiny (1 or 2 frame) delay that this monitor just has all the time, and it's noticable when compared to another monitor like a small HD 2. wireless transmission delay. Plugging in directly to the camera will mean you only have the first delay. It's not a deal breaker at all and totally fine, but it is noticable when comparing it to other monitors.
Does this have a tocuh focus option? I can’t decide between this and portkeys
This definitely does NOT have touch focus
FYI, shorting contacts with a fork works on high voltage as well, it's just a bit more dangerous :)
Depends on the load rating of the fork 🤣
HI mate. Thanks heaps for the vid. Would you know where Rode placed my audio that it said it would save to my computer during this update? It asked me to update automatically when I pulled them in today, and said it would first transfer my audio files, then deleted them. It created a text based file, and that's all? Thank you! :)
Heating issue ? If 1 hr recording??
Does zv e10 has video recording limit & heating issue for long podcast recording??
Tried with iPad 10 with usb c and x-h2, tried several cables, camera on webcam mode. Not working. iOS 17. Am I missing something?
Did you enable webcam mode on the camera itself?
i considered to buy this camrea too
That was killer 👌🏻🔥
Thanks, really appreciate it 🙂
Geeat and informative content thank you
Nice video bro, can see how much effort you put to this video! Good job :)
Thanks so much, really appreciate it 🔥
That locking DC barrel is enough of a reason to get the Enhanced over the Standard model. If you're rigging it out on your camera and powering it with a V-lock, you want that assurance that you're not going to snap the connector or accidentally disconnect it whilst on the job.
100% agreed. And it’s even more of an improvement because of how bad the old connection was. Like I have other non-locking barrel connectors that felt better than it
After two years of having a broken handle I finally repaired it and did this swap. Thanks for the video
Thanks for leaving a comment, feels great knowing this video is helping people ❤️
I wonder, do you think it would work well with an inflatable pillow?
I feel like it might work if it’s not fully inflated so you still have a bit of “cushion” to it
@@Isaac_Insoll yeah, that makes sense, I waa thinking to figure out a super portable version of it
can I connect it to my sony fx3 without a v mount?
Yep, you can just use NPF batteries on the back place like most on camera monitors do 😀
@@Isaac_Insoll great thanks!
How cool to find your channel! I'm trying to do the same with my Sony ZVe10 but I'm not able to make an adjustment to keep focus on two people at the same time. Can you suggest a tip like you did? Thanks!!
I’d suggest either using a larger aperture (EG: F4 instead of F2) or keeping both subjects the same distance from the camera. For example, if the person on the left side is exactly 1 metre from the camera, then make sure the person on the right side of the frame is also one metre away, then they should both be in focus
I have the exact same device and it used to work perfectly fine for us. Unless I tried to set it’s time correctly and afterwards it stopped working. Now I tried to reset it but forgot how to do that. Also I cant find the little manual booklet anymore so maybe someone reading this might know how to reset this little device?
Sorry I can’t help with that one. I threw out the manual and all packaging as soon as I got it up and running. I did email their support department with some questions (about the security side of things) and they were really responsive.
Just made one with an old tote bag I cut & sewed together. I used some of those plastic pellets used for filling beanbags and stuff animals, along with a mini pillow form and fill. Works awesome and was about $15 max.
How did it work out for you? Is it helpful or was I all hype?
@@Isaac_Insoll It worked out great. It definitely helps a ton to steady shots out and get that lower shot, but still be stable. It's also nice and compact so it feels a little more discreet than a full shoulder rig, but more stable than just hand-held.
Where did you get he the practical light over your right shoulder its exactly what i ha=ve been k=looking for, Great Video and review.
I actually don’t know. I bought it second hand from my wife’s sisters husband who had it for years. I’m guessing I’d search for ‘Hollywood vintage stage light’ if trying to find something similar
Thank you
Just dug out my old crumpler bag and was going to look for bean bag refill. I think pillow works better, during abd especially after shoot... to sleep on. 😅
how would you compare this monitor to the new atomos ninja os11 for strictly monitoring.
I don’t have an atomos ninja but I presume it’s similar image quality to the shinobi. Compared to the shinobi I like this slightly more but they aren’t that different, so I’d consider this a ‘shinobi plus wireless features’ rather than a ‘much better image than a shinobi’ if that makes sense
Correct me if I'm wrong, but original XLR-K3M has digital \ analog switch. XLR-H1 does not have such switch does it mean that it provides always digital or analog signal ?
I’m actually not sure, it has been working perfectly for me for a couple of years now on both FX3 and FX6. I suspect it’s digital as analog was only needed on them to support older bodies, but I can’t actually say that for sure. Either way, it has worked fine on both types of cameras
Amazing thx
Good stuff man! I'll make one with my old pillow's innards
How did it go? Did you actually find it useful?
@@Isaac_Insoll yes, pretty useful, especially sitting down on a chair panning and shooting, you have to tinker with the quality and quantity of cushion though
Frazer Island?? Are you serious? Do you know how offensive it is to hear that! First nation minority oppression is historical colonialism racism! Haha great vid guys I’m getting the M1 i need wireless.
lol, I panicked at the first half of that comment and was about to blame Daniel for it 😂 Yea I’ve got the M1 enhanced now so Daniel has the original M1 and is loving it 🔥
If I dont have HA, can i still use this. Maybe in Google home? Also does it have its own app. What app are u using?
I’m using Home Assistant. This whole device is powered by ESP Home which is built to connect simple smart home devices like this to home assistant without using the cloud. I didn’t want “cloud” as I don’t want to pay other companies or trust them with my data. If you want something that works directly with google home without home assistant then I’m sure there are multiple options out there for you, but this isn’t the one you want, and I don’t have anything I can recommend as I’ve only got experience with this one.
How is the latency in comparison to the original m1? Does it still have that 2 frame delay? Amazing content by the way! Just subbed.
I didn’t do scientific testing on the M1 enhanced but it absolutely felt the same as the original M1, which means it’s noticeable compared to a SmallHD but after using it for 1 min you get used to it and don’t notice it.
how can u record at 4k? recording on the cam or with a video interface?
The camera itself is recording at 4K. There is no video interface on this particular setup as it’s optimising for low cost and easy setup
Hello, together with my friends we decided to record our RPG session and upload it on youtube. We're group of 5 persons playing togheather around one table. We got almost everything ready but still problem with sound. Im wondering how we can record 5 of us with good sound quality. I have blue yeti (i dont think this will be a good option) and behringer404 (audio interface for my guittar). One of my friends told me to look for shutgun microphone and that's how Im here :) Could you give me some advice will that microphone be optimal for our demand? I wanted to put that microphone above our heads on the middle of the table. Other option that i can see is some wireless microphones but im not sure about that.
I have the m1 enhanced. And ill use an ipad to pull focus when i film myself testing lighting. Im really surprised how bad the quality is streaming to an ipad. The image is very blurry and couldnt really pull focus with it. The sharpening focus option helped but just rly surprised how bad it is at such close range. If anyones planning on relying the ipad transmission to pull focus i would go another direction. Also rly hate that theres no pinch to zoom or quicker way to zoom
I’ve recently started using the M1 enhanced to transmit to a 15” monitor and would agree totally. On a smaller monitor like a 7” receiver the image compression is acceptable but at 15” sizes it’s great for client review of framing etc but nowhere near as sharp as running even a 1080p feed directly into the monitor.
i have tons of messenger bag lying around and some old pillows or foam from Pelican cases that I don't use
I want to use my android phone as a webcam for my ipad. Is it possible?
Sorry, no idea as I’ve never tried anything like that.
What’s the length of your Boom Arm on the C stand?
It’s the Jinbei M1 lightstand, so just google the specs of that if you are interested :)
great video
