I actually really wanted to see this test done. I own a XT4 but I was curious how it stood up against the more expensive bodies. The talking head shots are all the same across all 3 brands. Where the XT4 and Canon shine are the walking shots. The FX3 was all over the place. I figure most people will use a gimbal for faster walking shots or running shots though. I liked your video and subscribed to your channel!
Yep, I believe it’s 1.1x which isn’t noticeable like you said but results in noticeably smoother stabilisation. Having said that, if I need the extra width the standard IBIS is still much, much better than nothing.
I am surprised you didn't include a Panasonic S1 or S5 camera because Panasonic is known to have the best IBIS cameras on the market. ( if you were doing a new test then I would consider adding the Panasonic S5II or S5IIX camera )
Yep, I'd love to include that but this was just a collection of cameras that Daniel (canon) and I (sony/fuji) own. I'm actually super keen to try out a S5 so I guess I need to make friends with somebody who has one :P Honestly, thanks for leaving a comment. It took a bit of time to make the video and sometimes it feels like nobody is watching :P
Great vid! What’s your take on the fx3 vs xt4? As far as image and usability? I’m a Fujifilm shooter for small business content and wedding films. I’m waiting to see what Fuji does with the xh2 before making any choices, but the fx3 and a7iv have been on my mind. Low light capabilities, no record limits and their autofocus is what’s been attracting me to Sony for video work lately. Thanks in advance! Tuan
To be honest the X-T4 is excellent. The main advantages of the FX3 for me are the much better autofocus, moderately better IBIS and then a bunch of small things like nicer button layout, full size HDMI and nicer to hold etc. Another benefit of sony is better range of lenses that are good for video. My 56mm 1.2 renders beautiful images but I just can’t trust it for video AF. The cheaper sony 85mm 1.8 is awesome for video. That will probably change a bit once the new fujifilm 18/23/33/50 are in stock everywhere but I haven’t tested them.
thanks for this test! Have you noticed any sudden jerky effect or wobby effect espeically in the XT4? I dont have FX3 to compare, but I def. feel the XT4 is much more stable than then older A7III, however, for FUJI, sometimes it jerks a bit unless your movement is big enough and I was told there are sometimes wobby effect from the R5. Can you comment a bit on that? Thanks!
Hi, Awesome name dude! I've only used Sony and Fuji so can't compare to the other brands but the X-T4 IBIS is much, much better than X-T3 lacking IBIS (much better than nothing) but I find that the X-T4 often 'resets' the position if you move more than a little bit like it can't keep up. The Sony definitely feels more smooth when I move more than a tiny bit. I find on both I need to 'get it moving' if I want to do a pan (IE: start panning earlier than the shot requires so the camera knows i'm moving and doesn't try to temporariliy keep it in the one position). That's my real world experience with both. The R5 belongs to a friend so my only experience with it is what you see in this video
Is that just our janky color grade because we rushed the testing or are you referring to just the stabilisation? I want to do a color science follow up either way 😀
@@Isaac_Insoll just the colors, not too worried about ibis. I shoot both sony and canon, sometimes i love the canon colors and other times i have no idea how it comes out the way it does. lol
you have specified everything features so good, I liked your video and subscribed to your channel!
Thank you Shirley, are you Fuji, sony or canon shooter?

Thanks Darren, I’m planning to be a half fuji, half sony channel so we will see how it goes 😀
Awesome video, I didn’t even notice there was a crop on Sony’s active mode until seeing this video. Not a huge crop but it’s there.

@@Isaac_Insoll thanks for the reply! All makes sense. :)

so good!
Can’t imagine why I’d spend $4k for Sony when Fuji looks awesome 😎
… and it takes better photos too! I’ve been recommending the X-T4 to everyone lately 🔥
sony and fuji looked good... not a fan of the canon in these tests.

The Sony IBIS is atrocious!
It feels better than the Fuji to me when I’m using it (compared to fuji)
