When you had that gear off did you notice that there was a broken "stop"? What I mean by that is where the gear stops up against after its cycle. The stop was kind of mutilated.

Glad I came across your video... I had some leakage and couldnt figure out where from.. I gave it a second look after seeing this and found a pin hole at that very elbow... i'm strapped for cash , so some gasket material and a hose clamp is keeping me riding for now... temporary of course... but thanks for the heads up

Great video Bro. I actually used it a couple years back to replace the gear on the drivers side. Now the passenger side is blowing rubber out the vent and the door gets jammed. So you have any suggestions for that w/o me having to take the dash apart to remove the distribution box?

We did this and have everything back together but bow the air bag cover wont close. How do i fix that?

I just did mine today. Wish I had the 10 mm ratchet wrench. I did find you can do the front two 13 mm bolts with an extension through the grill. Without jacking up the car, but taking the lower splash pan, I found it easier to take the fan out from the bottom. If you have the electric/hydraulic steering, loosening the mounts for the hoses helps and they are clipped into the driver’s side of the radiator. The wires for the electric steering can also get in the way but are easy to remove. I used new hoses with screw clamps, if in the rust belt the spring clips can fail, and they are a pain anyway. Just do not over-tighten the screw clamps. Having an extra set of hands to hold the grill back or when mounting the condenser in the rad would not hurt. I used magnetic pans and stood the screws up in sets so it was easy to remember where they go.

Nice tutorial! That really is a counter-intuitive tool. EDIT: for anyone reading comments in the future, the reason for this weird design is because there's a jack screw on the rear calipers, to automatically compensate for brake pad wear so that the hand brake cable always stays adjusted automatically.

My daughter just got a quote of $1300 AUD which is around $850 US to replace radiator. Bought radiator,new cap and coolant for $300 AUD so decided to do it ourselves and save a grand. Your video was absolutely brilliant and your easy going commentary was so easy to follow. The Australian V6 model is a 3.0 litre model so there is a few differences but not enough to worry about.
