THERMAL CAMOUFLAGE | How to employ thermal camouflage to camouflage your vehicle and yourself
Thermal camouflage for yourself, your vehicle and campsite in the bush. In this video I build on my previous camouflage videos and discuss the principles of thermal camouflage and concealment when you need to hide a vehicle or your campsite. This can be used when you're in real danger. Thermal camouflage is easy as long as you understand the thermodynamics and how to hide your heat signature. Having good camouflage skills puts you at an advantage in anti-tracking, concealment and escape and evade as the target indicators that we use to find someone is what you should be avoiding in camouflage and concealment. In this camouflage and concealment video I discuss different ways to camouflage and hide a heat signature, how to camouflage your gear and considerations around thermal tarps.

    Hi Clarise and Indy, I was a bit surprised at how close you built your cook fire to your tent. Embers from fire would easily melt and burn through your shelter. Thank you for sharing a prayer prior to your meal. Do you have concerns over finding bats or other potentially aggressive animals in the caves ? One of your best video's to date. Is Frank a close friend, one of your survival group members or your significant other ? Thank you for sharing and "God bless all of you, and keep you safe."

    Good Evening Clarissa, I have been waiting ever since you mentioned you were making this video, you presented a lot of really good information here. The hide behind glass got me thinking. I also wanted to say you just broke a Hollywood myth from the original Predator movie where Arnold Schwarzenegger discovers he can hide from the Predator by covering himself in mud. As I figure it, the mud could work when its first applied but as the mud dries from your body heat the mud would dry and become the same temp as your body. This drives further your point that as long as your cover is away from your body the better cover it will make. Taking this into consideration then to cover your vehicle would mean using tarps that could cover and overlap each other allowing air gaps between the edges to allow any heat to escape while rising and not collect on the tarps to warm them. Could this also be done for hiding a campfire? Place a tarp over a fire high enough to not melt or heat up the tarp? It would also seem a good idea to cover the tarps with light branches to break up the solid square or overall shape created with multiple tarps. I have to admit I was very surprised by how quickly the tarps adjusted to your hand temp even finger tips. Lotta food for thought here. Thank you for posting this information. Your videos are fantastic.

    • @LiveReady
      @LiveReady 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Robert, thanks for having suggested including a vehicle in the experiment. If trying to hide a camp fire I would build a Dakota fire pit to start with as a lot of the heat will be distributed into the ground and not rise so much to the tarp covering. Branches are a great idea. Thanks for watching. C

    Well done Clarise. Thermal imaging is something that is now very common. Drones , cameras and hunting gear now have this as an option. I think if your being hunted by drones and an organized group with thermal scopes…. You may have to ditch the car or thermally hide it if you have the time. It would be slow and difficult to get away from thermal drones and thermal scopes. In cold climate areas, thermal tracking is something that law enforcement use for search and rescue. It would be fun to see a video of you and your group of friends doing a live practice drill off thermal tracking someone who has to get to point B.

    FANTASTIC VIDEO! I've dedicated my 8'x10' cargo trailer to my wilderness adventures. In it, I keep all my camping/hunting gear squared away and good to go. My wilderness adventures are usually 10-14 days long. I like Whiteduck Regatta bell hot tents for my 4-season shelters. My tent shelters are just big enough to accommodate the basics; cot, chair, folding card table, and wood stove for heat. For meals, I have my coleman propane stove with cooking pot and skillet. For water, I like to take several cases of bottled water, backed up by a water filtration system. For food, I prefer the freeze dried meals to discourage nuisance bears. And of course, I have my sidearm and long rifle. As the old-west saying goes, "I wouldn't send any man alone in to the wilderness without a knife, long rifle, sidearm, and a good horse under him!"

    Some people are so fixated on escaping the wrath of God. Tribulation does not equal wrath. He does not pour out His wrath until the end, and He does take us out just before that point. The wrath of the tribulation is caused by mankind itself and the A/C. Wars, pestilence, and famine all come from the hand of man. Signs in the heavens come from the Creator.

If you're thinking of making a reef do it. In other words, if it occurs to you that you may need to take precautions just do it. That's a whole other story though but you've brought it back to mind. Yes i agree ash a reef goes back to the days of sail in otherwords you shorten a sail by reefing it. As you can guess im former Royal Navy dont do sailing though. Surprising haw many terms from our maritime past, enter normal life. Marlin or marlin spike, does not come from the fish, but the process of marling and parceling a rope or cable with special tools by hand.

    Hello, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. I have seen a lot of different folks talk about hanging your gear or food off the ground. Yup it all makes perfect sense. However what still throws me off is why put a sharp pointed end on one side? Part of having a fun camping experience or if you are fleeing a bad event. Is to do everything you can to prevent getting hurt or injureing yourself. It would seem the fewer things around you that could possibly harm you (like bumping into or falling against/on a very sharp pointed stick) would be a bad thing to happen. Can you explain the reason why you do sharpen one end? It also seems to me what would be better is to make the stick long enough to cut out two notches close to the end where the strap to your bag or gear can easily fit into to prevent the gear or bag from unexpectedly falling off? Just wondering, other than that thank you for another great video. Wish I knew a way to share photos with you, I am in the process of restoring/outfitting a 1985 GMC Suburban and one of my considerations is the final paint. I based my idea on watching a lot of conceal vehicles videos including yours. I think I have a pretty cool idea. At least in my own head hahaha

    • @LiveReady
      @LiveReady 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Robert! Thanks for your comment! A Marlinspike is a traditional sailing tool used to work ropes and make ladders, it has one sharp end to help with rope work and that's where the knot comes from. However, you don't have to make it sharp, you can just use a toggle, a plain stick or any other place holder depending on what you see fit in the circumstances. With regards to your vehicle... I know it's really tempting to paint it camo, but you're a target in an unrest situation if you're driving a camo vehicle. I'd go for a 'grey man' option like plain khaki, green or grey. If you make it look military or out of place then you'll draw too much attention. Thanks for supporting the channel, glad you've found value here. C

    I can’t believe I just now came across your channel. Especially figuring how many preparedness and survival channels I watch. And I love your accent! Also, I heard a lot of great information in the video. A lot of people in the states talk about living off grid or in the mountains. Well I live in East Tennessee near the smoky mountains. And I remember when the fires happened here near Gatlinburg. It happened fast. And spread really fast! People were driving through smoke and fire trying to leave and died. Vehicle tires melted! Engine blocks were found completely melted! Some of the roads melted! It was crazy! So, people need to listen to your video and take heed! You can’t always stay! There are times you have to grab gear and go!!! And you definitely have a new subscriber! I’ll be going back and watching your other videos! And I love seeing women learning to take care of themselves and being self sustaining. I think more women need to do that! There’s no reason they can’t or shouldn’t! God Bless you and your family!

    Matthew 24:40 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Enoch and Elijah the rapture is 100% written but it’s up to God to reveal these things to humans the signs are here and no matter what man will never understand HIS ways so stop telling people what you think to be true! People need to open the Bible and find truth themselves instead of believing whatever someone else says you need to read and find your own knowledge! Time is short and he will return and the rapture will happen just as he took those others!

    Excellent video. I would only add 2 things to your fantastically complete list. #1 - A fire starter - recommend a striker type where you're basically rubbing 2 metals together to get a spark (it's waterproof) whereafter you can ignite lint, dried brush - steel wool in bags is a terrific kindling, and you can ignite it with a small AA sized battery. #2 - A small but powerful personal crossbow and at least 20 small arrows. In a worst case scenario, if you need to hit the road, you will eventully need to procure your own food. The crossbow is silent (very important), highly reusable and small enough to conceal. If need to, it will bring down whatever game you are likely going to want to eat. It will also address preditor problems. This is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. Thank you!

    The anti-Christ will not be revealed becausd The holy spirit is on earth, After the holy spirit and every saved Christian gets raptured then the son of sin will be revealed because the hily ghost is no longer on earth
