  • We place a lot of trust in a constrictor knot and as one of the most versatile knots, constrictor knot can save you a lot of time and effort. In this video I share how to use a constrictor hitch for every day purposes as well as for wilderness survival purposes. The benefit of making a constrictor slipped knot is that you can use it to tie up a line at combat speed all while still being easy to undo. Once you've practiced making a constrictor knot a few times, it will be one of your favourite knots, a cool party trick and something you readily do at combat speed. I also discuss the similarities between a constrictor knot and a clove hitch.

    I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. Revelation 3v8

    Very good clarise, i tend to use marine grade rope 10 to 12mm dia, traditional type rope not cordage as it can be spliced also.
    I do cary para cord too for emergencies.

      Thanks! I like my stretch of climbing rope for demonstration. I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

    I don't know if it's a regional difference but this is the first time I hear the constrictor knot being called a hitch since the original purpose was to keep bundles together.
    I do like that quick-release version though as I always have a hard time trusting the clove hitch for applications where the tension may vary and intermittently release on the line.

      Hi there! Application is important yes. If you're fastening a line to a fixed point it's generally referred to as a hitch - implying the fixed point.

    Hi what would be the best knot for makeshift bowstring? I heard bowline is actually slippery is that true?

    • @LiveReady
      @LiveReady  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bowline shouldn't slip🤔 otherwise try a clove hitch and maybe just wrap the line around itself before making the hitch over it. The best is always to carve a notch into whatever your fixing the rope to so it can't move on the object.

      @@LiveReady good advise, I learned from your videos how to make solid knots, I am gonna use bowline but with safety knot like you did in your bowline knot video. Thank you.

    Just make sure the toggle isn't going to break.

    • @jackdad7411
      @jackdad7411 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The toggle is not working hard, or under pressure, It’s only there to prevent the trigger from slipping through until your ready to release it

      @jackdad7411 I only mentioned it because I picked a stick up off the ground to use to hang my rucksack with, and it snaped.
