    That was excellent. Really liked the desalination technique.
    Most car survival videos just have someone talking about vehicle survival, it great to see a video with someone actually showing the real thing.

    Also you can use the foam inside of your seats as ways to insulate yourself if the weather is extremely cold.

      I think a second vehicle survival video at some point is warranted for all the things I didn't manage to add into this video. I'm adding your suggestion to the list. Maybe a cold weather video would be cool. Thanks! C

    I have a degree in automotive technology, I dont know what country this was filmed, but in America, windshield washer fluid does not contain soap, it contains alcohol. I am not a doctor, but it doesnt seem like a good idea to be drinking that, not to mention all the other contaminants in it

    Great advice. One critique concerning U.S residents. No one i know ever carries steel wool in their vehicles. A better choice for us would be to try and get a little gas via carburetor hose or syphoning.

    • @LiveReady
      @LiveReady  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Cool idea thanks for adding it here. I don't know anyone who keeps steel wool either unless they're camping and have it in their kitchen kit. I have started keeping some in my emergency vehicle kit though. I suppose that's where preparedness comes into play. But I like your alternative suggestion. C

    Last summer I was in the wilderness in a valley so step I couldn't get out of without leaving my pack behind, my pack had everything I needed to survive so the only way out was going down the valley, that would have take 2 weeks of hiking, so I was had a great time surviving. Best time of my life.

    If you find yourself in the middle of Namibia during a drought, water is a #1 priority!
    I took a full day driving trip through Namibia (desert), and I was constantly drinking water, but I never had to pee, not even a drip.
    I didn't seem to sweat either. I realized that if we broke down, we were going to die.

    • @LiveReady
      @LiveReady  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing your story! Desert survival especially in the Namib poses a huge challenge as the water table often recedes below bedrock in that region. They have some really interesting hydrogeology with an aquifer system that isn't all that accessible. So digging for water may not be an option even though in some rural areas the people do manage to dig wells. Desalination is big in Namibia though, but for that you would have had to be near the coastline. Your best bet would have been to build solar stills with as much foliage in them as you could find, or even use transpiration bags around your rubbish and to harvest what you can from the vehicle. I like to keep 1:50 000 scale topo maps of the areas I travel to so that I can locate springs or dry riverbeds should I need to dig. Of course, you only need to start doing this once you've run out of beer 😉

      Excellent information!
      I'll apologize now for my LONG response.
      Here is some information that may get someone out of a pinch.
      I know that many vehicles set up for outlanding in ZA have dual battery systems. We were once out with a guide who kept inadvertently leaving his headlights on, which killed the main battery. Then, when he'd go to start the vehicle the next day, the 100A fuse between his main and secondary batteries would blow.
      It seemed counterproductive for the system that was supposed to keep you safe from a dead battery, to blow a fuse when you needed it most.
      We were always at some lodging where other vehicles could give us a jump. But, in other circumstances, we may have been at risk.
      Anyway, I went home to the US, pondering this problem. For part of the solution, the next time I saw him, I gave him a breaker to replace the fuse with I chose a 150A breaker.
      The other thing I figured out is why the fuse blew to begin with. It blew because the main battery was completely dead, and as he turned the key, the dual battery controller would try to add in the 2nd battery. This would effectively jump the primary battery. But, jumping a totally dead battery would take more than 100A, which is why the fuse blew.
      Solution: Use jumper cables between the two batteries, as a way to jump the primary battery.
      I know it sounds stupid simple. But, I'm a highly trained automation electrician, and it took me a while to come to this conclusion. But, I had never heard or seen one of these systems before.

    Terloops. Lekker roei! 🚣‍♀️ Of gebruik jou fly-sheet vir 'n seil... ⛵☝️🤓

    I have a cabin in mid America to survive the 42 month's, if you need it or led by the Holy spirit. MOB is in or around Nov. 2024. We have been preparing for this for over 10 year's. I have watched your earlier video's and know you are worthy to receive this place in the wilderness. We have been praying for people like you who understand the bible and what's to come. Just putting it out there, God bless, you got this !!
