Lore wise it's because the humans were just people, they didn't have powers or crazy protection spells or rituals. And it got found by accident, it's not like anyone was even looking for it, which kind of points to how poorly it was hidden. But what's funny and kind of ironic is that in the present day, while humans STILL don't have any powers or protection spells, they were THE ONLY ONES to create something that could block the signal from the Mother-box, which is why it couldn't be found until they took it out of the cube they had the box in. So technology is stronger than gods and legends apparently.

This movie was more star wars than most of the others. It had a very similar tone to return of the Jedi. All the themes of star wars were there. Kylo's story was the most compelling of all. I'm shocked you see it differently. Even fans who don't like these movies mostly like Kylo the most. Bringing force users back from the dead doesn't take away from anything. It's part of the lore.

You missed the whole point of the fight. Rey was surrending to the dark side out of anger for Kylo destroying the wayfinder. Kylo wanted to turn her, that's why he didn't go all out with his power and kill her. When Leia reached out through the force, Rey sensed she was trying to turn him to the light, which Rey always sensed In him since the last movie and she realized she was going down the wrong path. that's why she chose to heal Kylo instead to complete Leia's attempt. In those moments Kylo fully became Ben again, that's why the scar on his face was gone also. The force memory of Han was his final step. It all made sense.

Alot of hate for this movie is retroactive. It was beloved in 2015...then 2017 and 2019 hapoened

So: Anakin was supposed to be the Chosen One, but now he's not because Palpatine somehow survived. How did he survive? Well, apparently that's too difficult a question to answer. Rey is a classic example of a Mary Sue. She does everything on her own, doesn’t need anyone’s help, her decisions are always correct, and she has no internal conflict because she literally has no personality. By taking Luke’s role and undermining Anakin’s character arc, Rey has become the most hated character and now she’s set to get Episode X. The only thing I can say is that I am eagerly waiting for this film because any rational person would run as far away from the sequels and Rey as possible after the strongest backlash, yet they’ve decided to dig deeper. Finn's entire role in the film: Reeeeeeey! Honestly, it made me sad to see the actor who was so excited for Episode 7, only to declare he’d had enough after Episode 9. His character was humiliated. And I have a question: At the beginning, there’s information that Palpatine broadcasted a message that he would soon invade. Why did he do that? Ah, so the film could happen. How did Palpatine create such a fleet and where did he get the crew after losing the war? Well, they’re children of cultists. So after his defeat, Palpatine organized an orgy. Genius idea. Bonus: So the Republic fell The New Order also fell And Palpatine and his bizarre fleet Everything suggests there should be anarchy in the galaxy, but there can’t be a bad ending, so a federation has to appear out of nowhere.

But the story was official cannon of Star Wars for about 25 years. This is by far my least Star Wars anything. The reason simply being that they put so many events in this movie but never bothered to explain anything. The Emperor is back? How? Why? I mean, we did see him fall down that shaft on the second Death Star where he very obviously exploded. Why is he alive? Why center the entire plot of the movie around something we have never heard about before? It's basically a treasure hunt but in part with a really bad choice of locations. The wreck of the second Death Star? We saw it explode and there was very clearly nothing of that size left. And how would anyone know where that wayfinder thingy was? How and why was the dagger created? Anyone supposed to know about that thingy would have obviously known where it was. No need to create the dagger in the first place. Also, Ray chose the name of Skywalker. Why? Why not taking the name of her parents, even if it was Palpatine. They tried to save her. It was her grandfather who was the bad guy, not the rest of the family. And then there is the final battle. First of all those ships all looked like regular Star Destroyers with an additional weapon attached to it. Why not create a new and way better design, fitting for that purpose? And the battle itself is, in my opinion by far the worst choreographed space battle I have ever seen. As a matter of fact this is not me hating on modern Star Wars. I genuinely think they could have created something really good here. But the entire thing feels as if they were way too impatient to release it while the movie would have benefitted from another rewrite or two.

This abomination was the intentional desecration of actual Star Wars for BlackRock's end goal of eliminating the only threat to their world domination. KK was along for the ride to destroy her boss's legacy. The Force was never female. The very statement is sacrilegious.

Why do people always assume they’re related? Where was it ever implied they were related?

As someone who is first and foremost an Original Trilogy lover, it does surprise me that you say this doesn't feel Star Wars-y. This to me actually felt the most like that of the sequel trilogy. But obviously everyone is different. There are also things that are inspired by things like comics, novels, etc. such as Palpatine returning as a clone that a general audience would never know about so it strikes them as contrived. Also, they tried hard to make it evident that Finn is Force-sensitive when he's trying to let Rey know he has something to tell her, then later he has a feeling, then he can feel that she died, etc. but I do wish they made that less vague for the average person. All that being said I loved this movie, I understand the problems with it but it's still a lot of fun!

I feel Carrie Fisher’s death ruined this trilogy, we will never know what could have been had she lived.

Ben is the son of Leia and Han making him a Solo but with Skywalker blood of course and Rey is 100% a Palpatine as revealed so they’re not related

I'll never understand how people still think Ben and Rey are related since we know that Ben comes from the Skywalker/Solo lineage and in this movie we learn Rey is of the Palpatine family. 😂

I was always of the mind that there was no higher goal for a Jedi than to become one with The Force. Which is what Obi-Wan, Yodi and Luke and Leia all did.

all the unresolved questions you had and predictable plot points you foresaw are some of the major reasons why most Star Wars fans don't like this movie, along with the choppy and fast pace of the film's editing, Palpatine's unreasonable return, and most of all how Rey adopted the name "Skywalker." Overall, the sequel trilogy's biggest flaw altogether was the lack of a well-thought-out connected arc and plot, it was made up on the spot along the way by the directors who took the job. This is why most Star Wars fans prefer George Lucas' films, especially the original trilogy but also sometimes including the prequel trilogy if only in a general sense because Lucas had a singular vision of a coherent story to tell across Episodes I-VI. Personally I don't mind the characters of the sequel trilogy, i like Rey and Kylo especially, but their potential seemed undercooked in my opinion. My favorite era of Star Wars is the Clone Wars era.
