A .3 gram picker and a .29 specimen are the biggest pieces so far but I expect any nuggies are not going to be where placer gold is found like this honey hole where I'm getting my big totals but more likely just below the bank where it has eroded.

That would be nice but ground like this doesn't last for long. I'm sure there are some more 1 to 1.5 g spots left in that creek but that area had a lot of creek erosion and is why it had a crazy amount of gold there.

There are many good things about this creek. The number one thing is there's plenty of gold and the bedrock is shallow. The ease of access makes it a pink unicorn 🦄. No sliding down a steep slope beside a bridge on rip rap at this spot 😊

That was a stellar weekend that I'll never forget.

It's interesting how many times the property has changed hands. A son of the man who owned it in the 70's & 80's said his dad would let people dredge there for a flat fee. In only 40 years, the creek has recaptured an impressive amount of gold from bank erosion as you can see from the recent dredging video where I got close to 4 grams in one day. The same spot probably held ounces when gold was first discovered there.

I don't think so. I was seeing a lot of fines in my box upstream from there and then when I moved to that spot the gold got really coarse. I think the hydrodynamics of that spot may have "classified" the gold to be bigger there. Who knows though?

@@LeeHendrixGold With such a high velocity of water, a narrow sluice, & no second screen, I'm surprised to hear you were seeing a lot of fines. And with you finding small pieces down the sluice, it just feels to me that the gold is having a hard time to settle down. I really liked the camera detail under water, I played some of it at .25 speed & swear I could see small gold at times. All in all a decent vid & I'd think that sluice box out a bit more, trying to slow down the water but still getting the big rocks out. You could always put some 1/4 inch screen flat over the nozzle too, if you don't mind leaving rocks and won't lose track of where pay dirt has been sucked up already. Cheers

I will be continuing with the cleaning process early tomorrow before the water gets clouded upstream. I could see cracks in the video that should still hold some decent gold and I have brought my snorkeling mask. We shall see if there are any klunkers still hiding!

Tomorrow will be a 5 gram day. I would collect the cons in one of those special pickle buckets and process the cons at home.
