Very nice thanks.
Thanks for watching 🙂
Great video, incredibly well explained. Thank you.
Thank you very much 🙂
very important and most useful, i love it and as a woodworker i am going to make myself one of those jig
Thank you very much I'm happy you found my video
Eire workshop hey?
Hey
It's a shame I need a tablesaw.
This could be done on a mitre saw too
Still an expensive machine.
Nice jig! Thanks Tommy. One added tip. If you use 1/2” plywood or MDF for your jig and drill a centre hole in the jig to accept a router guide bushing of 1/2”, 5/8” or 3/4”, you can then use the corresponding router guide bushing mounted on your router. Example: 3/4” guide bushing in combination with a 1/4” up spiral straight router bit. With this method your router will be able to turn as you rotate around the circle and your electrical cord doesn’t twist as you go around. For the Makita routers you will need an adapter plate to accept Porter cable style 1 3/16” OD guide bushings. You would probably be buying metric sized bushings and router bits but I think that the principle would remain the same. John Jensen from British Columbia.
Hi John Thank you, yes that would be a good idea 👍
your still learning vectric? cant wait until you think you mastered it! holy cow - I've watched many hours of vectric how to's and never saw anyone use the array copy toolpath before mind blown and new sub Thank you!
Thank you very much and welcome to the channel. That is just 1 of the many cool features in vectric and now there are even more in the new version 12 I think it will take me along time to learn them all 🙂
Hi just subscribed today after watching a couple of your videos, really impressed at the no fuss detail you go to, very well explained and captivating, well done sir.
Thank you very much and welcome to the channel 🙂
Nice video good idea very useful. Thank you!!
Thank you very much, delighted you found it helpful 🙂
That's a good overview well presented and explained, I like the machine it's compact and powerful enough for a furniture maker do solid timber joinery. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you very much for watching 🙂
Perfect. I went to bed late last night trying to work out how to get that 'perfect' hole in the middle of my diy routing table. This was the first video that popped up. Cool idea. Thanks!
Thanks very much I'm glad this was helpful to you 🙂
Very handy - thanks Tommy!
Thanks for watching 🙂
Clever!
Thanks for watching 🙂
Brilliant video, what are the measurements for the tablet stand please?
Hey Tommy, Really Appreciated Your videos on Workbee. I have just finished surfacing your spoilboard and running the grid looking forward to my first real-world project today. Great Design. One thing to note in the video is that the two end clamps do not need to be T pieces. I machined mine up before realizing. Anyway, keep up the great videos, look forward to more CNC content
Thank you very much, I'm glad you found my videos helpful. Just a note the end pieces are not T pieces they only have one side machined but will still do the same job with both sides machined 🙂
Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing us WHAT you made and WHY you made it! So many videos start off, often without a spoken word, showing us HOW to make something. They think you're going to sit through a whole video of them making something you're not even sure you want to build. Crazy. I have to skip to the end to see if I want to build what they're building. This was a pleasure to watch because I knew in the first minute that I wanted to make my own blast gates just the way you did it. Keep up the good work, and make all your videos this same way, telling us the what & why before telling us the how.
Thank you very much for your kind words I really appreciate it 🙂
Hello! I saw you using double sided tape for sticking upper and lower wood pieces. Can you tell me which adhesive are you using? Thanks
Hi, I use 3M double sided tape I find it holds the best on wood. Thanks for watching 🙂
Thanks a lot. There are dozens of 3M’s on the market. Can you link me the Amazon link to the right one? Thanks
Just perfect, thanks
Thanks for watching 🙂
Very good sir, thank you.
Thank you and thanks for watching 🙂
very interesting simple but workable thank you
Thanks for watching 🙂
Great system! It's working for me!
Thank you 😊
Very helpful, thank you!
Thank you and thanks for watching 🙂
Awesome video!!!
Thank you very much 🙂
How can it have 2y motors when it have only 1y axis on board ?
There is a lead screw on both sides of the y axis so 2 motors there is only one lead screw on the x so only 1 motor
Very interesting. Never thought to use the router in that orientation. Thanks, or is it Tanks for sharing.😃
Thank you very much 🙂
That was a fantastic video, very informative and clear. Thanks.
Thank you very much 🙂
Great video, very helpful. Also I had to subscribe just to hear that wonderful Irish brogue! Tanks!
Thank you very much 🙂 and welcome to the channel.
Gotta get the "tickness" of the hinge correct
I would add though, it’s important not to forget how to use a a hammer and chisel, as I found out recently on a site that had zero power, so had to use hand tools. I quickly sharpened my chisels and on I went…
Absolutely everyone should know the traditional way unfortunately with the introduction of cordless tools less and less people find the need to use a hammer and chisel.
Brilliant
Thank you very much 🙂
GREAT TIPS!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Brazil.
Thank you very much and thanks for watching 🙂
So funny listening to an Irish man speaking English.
Thanks for watching 🙂
Very accurate way of working, know wood well, as he takes small portions out which stop breaking the edges 3 hinge jig is a great idea
Thank you very much 🙂
Hi Tommy I have watched all your videos on the ooznest and found them very helpfull, I will be placing an order for my machine on Monday and will be using your link, however I have very limited computer skills and no doubt I will be bamboozled by some of the settings I hope you dont mind but would be gratefull for any help you could give me if I do get stuck I will be running the vcarve pro software Many thanks for publishing those videos All the best Bernie
Hi Bernie That's great news, you can email me at eireworkshop@gmail.com if you need any assistance
Legend!, first step of the build and you made it easy for me! I slightly modified the idea by drilling into a piece of wood with a 5mm drill bit, then releasing it from the drill and used that to construct the bearings, I also used a slightly larger piece of wood for the 6mm hole to push down to assemble the wheel, I only did this because it was what I had, it worked brilliantly! thankyou!
Your very welcome 🙂
I have just come across this video and noticed it was published 1yr ago, I am about to purchase one of these machines and was wondering how you rate this unit and are you still happy with it Many thanks Bernie
Hi Bernie, The simple answer is yes I am extremely happy with it. I have actually had the machine for almost 2years and I'm still loving everything about it. Easy to build and a very capable machine. Can I ask what specification of machine you were thinking of?
@EireWorkshop I am going for the 750 x 1000 with the maffell router and unfortunately the ethernet connection
@@bernieclark7143 that's great nice size and good motor. I'm sure you will enjoy the journey from building it to using it 🙂. Feel free to use the link in this video to the Ooznest site if you do it helps me to continue making videos of the cnc 🙂
Every hardware store’s salesperson should refer to and advice your video when selling a router..! Thank you Tommy very well explained..!
Thank you very much 🙂
I was looking for a tutorial exactly like this one. Thank you 🙏 ..!
Thank you very much for watching 🙂
Im on the lookout for a reasonable starter / beginner cnc. in your opinion, does this one work well?
Absolutely, I have had no issues with the cnc over the past 2 years. It is easy to build and is an ideal hobbyist machine.
@ thanks allot for the response! I got a few machines in mind but this one is by far the most interesting.
@@Eagles_Eye if you check out the build series of videos you will get a very good understanding of how to machine is built and the quality of the components and adjustability of the setup to have a very accurate machine. For the cost it would be difficult to get a comparable cnc.
@ do you use the workbee control software?
well done Mate. Cheers.
Thank you very much 🙂
Tommy I've got to say that there are TH-camrs out there with 1000 times your views but half your talent. You deserve a lot more subscribers. I'll keep watching and recommending!
Thank you very much for your kind words, it's nice know the subscribers I have are enjoying my videos 🙂
Just brilliant, great detail 🤩
Thank you very much 🙂
That's brilliant: thanks for sharing. Simple, clever, and effective. I'm trying it soon.
Thanks for watching 🙂
No Centre Hole ?
Yes when using the template and guide bush you can cut circles without leaving a centre hole.
Thanks for this Tommy, your video is exactly what I was looking for. I'm making a teak box for a very old sharpening stone that belonged to my father. The stone itself is just 12mm so I'll be taking 6mm from each part of the box. I've never routered hardwood so I'm a bit wary and not sure at what speed to run the router. But the bit I'm using is brand new and I've made a jig to contain the router on all sides so I'm ready to roll. Thanks again. Wish me luck!
Thank you for watching and good luck with your project. One of the first project I did with a router was an oil stone case I still have it pushing on 36 years later 🙂
@ All done now Tommy, I did it on full speed and it turned out grand. I'm going to try my hand at routing a design on the lid tomorrow, just a few curved lines or something like that.
Hi mate, great video. I've recently finished building my workbee, can I ask you, when you surfaced the spoil board, did you use the touch probe? Or did you just hit go on the programming?
I used the probe to set the z height, I set the position of x and y to the centre of yhe spoilboard manually. Hope this helps
@ thank you mate, huge help
Did you use a 1/4" (6.35mm) rebate cutter? I cant find a metric equivalent. Stumbled across this video. This is absolute genius because of the rebate which stops the panel falling through or needing hinges. Thank you for taking time to share this
Hi, The rebate cutter I have has multiple different bearings so I can swop them to create a 6mm or 6.35mm rebate.
@ do you mind me asking where did you get the cutter from, I can't find any metric versions ?
@@JBSeymour I honestly can't remember where I got it iv had it for years. If you can get a set of router bit bearings you should be able to create the desired rebate even with an imperial bit. You should be able get bearing sets on amazon
Tommy, even CC hears you say cotton and not cutting, so what are we listeners to do with your lovely Irish accent? I mean that sincerely. And I do want to learn from you.
Haha your not the first to comment on my accent, thanks for watching 🙂
Great design
Thank you 🙂
Brilliant
Thank you very much 🙂
