Love your background story. I also heve a great love for working with timber, from a kid.
But I also had a love for trucks.
I drove on the continent for years, 27 years of driving I've had enough.

Things have got better and better Tommy, not that they were bad to start with. I have enjoyed all of your content from the very beginning. Thanks for sharing your incredible skills and letting us in to a little bit of your history too. It's always a shame when life decides that you can't continue to do the things you love but your change of direction shows you are the type to never give up.
I'll watch pretty much anything you care to produce on You Tube so please share what you can.

Good to hear you're able to enjoy being back in the workshop. I think TH-cam creators worry too much about video production etc, if the sound's good and the content is good and the video is clear enough (and yours is), most people are happy with that. I'm looking forward to seeing many more 👍

I would absolutely love to see a workshop chat, a monthly basis would be even better if you have the time. Always look forward to a new video from you!

Very happy you decided to clean up the shop and start a youtube channel Tommy! I'm enjoying your content a lot as well as all the machinery you got there! CNC is a wonderful thing in my opinion. I want to get a small one at some point. maybe 50x50cm or somewhere around that. Would be super useful in flattening chess boards or cutting boards that I really enjoy making at the moment!
As for the updates, maybe one or two per year is enough to be honest, or if something really interesting is going on. Wouldn't put a schedule on it anyway! Keep it up!

Great video Tommy ! I came across your channel a few months back via John McGrath. I actually built the blast gates for my small shop and they work very nicely. Hi Tommy has you are a fully trained joiner would you think of doing a online class I know I love some thing like that for one. I stated woodworking as my Maine hobby in lockdown and followed Paul sellers he is great for hand tool but I think you be very good at power tool working. You have a great way of explaining your your.

Tommy, love the videos, all of them. Now i know, i really wasnt that far behind you starting to make videos when i first started watching them. I started late in life, i started woodworking when covid hit. Butbi still maintain a full time on the road job so i have to live thru all the woodworking youtubers out there. Thanks for what you do.

Tommy, Im a big fan. Before retiring i bought a minimax combination machine and am feeling my way through teaching myself woodworking. There are not a lot of videos showing how to use sliding table saws and shapers etc, so i have found your videos really helpful, especially things like cutting half laps. So any videos on tips and tricks and jigs for these machines I’ love to see. It was a real insight too to see that you get by with a small bandsaw - in fact more than get by. I have a 14” saw and was thinkinsg of getting an 18 or 20 inch machine because, well because its bigger! I’m rethinking that and getting to know the 14 inch unit.
So please keep up with the workshop - they are a real resource.

Thank you, yes that little bandsaw has served me well and has done alot of heavy cutting through the years like I said in that video the key to that has been setup and the blade. I have lots of jigs and templates still to share 👍

Hi Jerry thanks for your concern unfortunately it won't improve but hopefully can be managed. Yes I'm really enjoying the cnc something iv been wanting to mess with for years so since woodworking is now just a hobby I thought it was the perfect time. TH-cam has been a massive help to keep me doing little bits in the workshop

Thanks for sharing your story . Like you I am a time served carpenter joiner mostly doing 2nd fix work
I have a home workshop with a respectable array of machinery. As you know people do wood work for a hobby and we are lucky to make a living from it but that's a sentiment i don't share with the customer!
At the age of 60 hanging fire doors is not much fun
I must look into something handier but my workshop is a bit too shabby for TH-cam !😂

Ho Liam, thanks for watching. My workshop was also too shaddy for youtube but a good tidy up and a lick of paint and I was set to go. Totally agree that certain jobs get harder with age I couldn't even imagine how I would haul big planks of oak around like I used to 🤣. Like I said in the video I'm actually enjoying the workshop again and learning new things like the cnc has been an enjoyable journey
