  • I complete my first project on the ‪@ooznest‬ Workbee Z1+ 1500x1500 CNC router that I designed in ‪@vectric‬ Aspire and wanted to show the machine doing what it does best. Sit back relax and enjoy the hypnotic effects of a CNC in action.

Very nice project, VCarving like that is so satisfying to watch. We could watch that all day. The finish you applied really made it pop!

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks 🙂 I'm very happy with the result and performance of the workbee 👍

Brilliant work! This is the first time I’ve seen a project done from start to finish on the workbee, I’ve seen other videos on it working but they only show small segments of it so was nice to see it working on the full project, it’s also faster that I thought to!
Would love to see the program side of things when you get up to speed and other projects from this CNC. Keep up the great work 🙌

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks Andrew 🙂, I am running it on the conservative side regarding feeds and speeds so has way more to give 😀

That logo turned out very well! Really liking your videos and the pieces your turning out.
I would love to have a CNC, not necessarily that large, but one I could make other things with... alas, got to save up some more money first. Hopefully I'll sell some more of my other pieces and get there one day then I'll have to figure out where to set it up!

Are you sure you do not work for Ooznest? What an excellent set of construction videos.
I think you have encouraged me to have a go. Thank you.

I'm glad you liked them and I don't think you will go wrong if you decide to get one I'm still learning but loving every minute of the journey. And I'm certain I don't work for ooznest lol.

Can I ask what file type you when with for this design? I'm new to cnc machines and I'm trying to work out the best CAD file to import in order to get nice details like you have here, I was thinking STL to have as much information as possible but the general feedback is that this methout will take ages. Any help is muchly appreciated

    •  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

I'm new to the whole cnc thing myself. I used vectric aspire design software and I simply imported a gpeg design of the Celtic Knot and the software did a trace vectors. I do find an stl file will trace better than a gpeg picture file. I guess it is totally down to the design software you are using

I have to ask, did you modify or add your own dust collection to this? Don't get me wrong, its working very well, but it looks like there is a lot tape holding things together?

    •  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

That was just a temporary setup to get the machine up and running. I later added proper dust extractor and a dust shoe there is a video up on this addition

Turned out great Tommy, how are you getting on with it I'm considering getting a CNC

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

Hi John, getting on good but must say it's a bit of a learning curve and has its pros and cons depending on what it's used for. You are more than welcome to come check it out if you would like see it in action etc.

Awesome video! Im looking at buying a workbee, just curious, do you have to manually switch off the router between bit changes and things like that? Im completely new to CNC-ing 😂

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi, Yes you have to manually stop and start router. There are some milling motors available that can be controlled by the software but they are fairly expensive.

@ thank you, I’m just trying to take in as much info I can before I get one so it’s not a dead start

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks Paul, I have done a small amount of 3d carving just a few simple designs. Will definitely be doing more in future and will include in a video.

Im on the lookout for a reasonable starter / beginner cnc.
in your opinion, does this one work well?

    •  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Absolutely, I have had no issues with the cnc over the past 2 years. It is easy to build and is an ideal hobbyist machine.

    • @Eagles_Eye
      @Eagles_Eye 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@ thanks allot for the response! I got a few machines in mind but this one is by far the most interesting.

    •  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Eagles_Eye if you check out the build series of videos you will get a very good understanding of how to machine is built and the quality of the components and adjustability of the setup to have a very accurate machine. For the cost it would be difficult to get a comparable cnc.
