Thanks Rusty . A good glimpse of history . 👍
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it's always good to be reminded of history, good and bad, lest we forget
Thanks for sharing
Living in Belgium the amount to history at your fingertips is staggering. WW I, WW II, Medieval times (or the middle ages) and so on. Be it wreckage of war or places like Castles, villages, simple homes or even the roads used to get to them. It's everywhere. Thank you for the tour of Dunkirk. We need to be reminded, to remember the past or we will be doomed to repeat the worst mankind has to offer.
Thank you for the history lesson. Greatly appreciated.
Thank for the trip back in time
A very nice presentation Michel. I think we should continually be reminded about the horrors of the last two world wars. Hopefully the conflicts in other parts of the world will soon end. Just hope it will be in my lifetime. I’d like to leave knowing my family are safe.
Merci Michel
my grand father is buried in a giant cemetery in Belgium
Thank you for this, very well done.👍🏻 Also, awesome sand castle!
Happy Birthday!
It’s sad. I love historical stories. Thanks. Good video
That was very nicely told..... almost had a tear in my eye when you mentioned the rearguard, and their fate of 5 years as POW's....if they were lucky!. You're a good man, Mr Rustinox.
good video rustinox
My old manager at work was a Dunkirk veteran a nice man I remember him well
Old guy who lived in my street when i was a kid, was in the rearguard at Dunkirk. He was behind the wire for the rest of the war. Brave men one and all.
Thanks Rusti' for sharing. History is so very important. Else we repeat our mistakes over and over...
Thanks for the history and rememberance
Thank you for sharing this, I can see that you really appreciate history as I also do.
My mother saw it from Ramsgate.
Am I interested? You're damn right I'm interested!
Very interesting. I do know the historic of Dunkirk but it is great to hear you tell the story on location. You did a great job. Thank you.
Headed there in a few months... Thanks for the history!!
thank you Rusty. Certainly makes you think of all the sacrifices men and women of all nations made.
Reading the history of WW2, and watching numerous TV documentaries, the name Dunkirk is well known. In spite of that You added new details. Why doesn't mankind learn about the horror of war? Why are new wars started over and over again? Not a nice but a very good video!
My Uncle was part of the rearguard, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. Spent five years in captivity and died quite young after the war, according to my Dad, as a result of his treatment as a prisoner.
Thanks for doing the video Michel. Here in the UK we tend to forget that there were also large numbers of French, Belgium and others evacuated from the beach at Dunkirk, as well as our own soldiers. My dad and both of his brothers were in the RAF, both brothers were killed during the war. The one I am named after was shot down in the defence of Malta, neither has a known grave, only a marker. Dad was in Burmah, to his dying day he avoided buying anything Japanese.
There is some resentment in France about the brits doing a runner but something like a third of those evacuated were French, but in the perennial Anglo-French rivalry the French seem to forget that little detail.
Couldn´t agree more Michel.
Played pipes on the sands of Dunkerque 1998. Then full pipes and drums of 30 bandsmen & Women.
nice one Michel 84 years on, and another tyrant now throwing his weight around. thanks for sharing atb Kev (UK)
Thanks for the history lesson, lest we never forget.
History is truly fascinating. Thank you for sharing this.
Ive been to Dunkerque 1940 museum two weeks ago, very interesting,as a Czechoslovak i am proud that our guys helped to liberate Dunkerque.
Hi Michel, excellent video, thanks very much for taking the time to film this, I'm amazed at what is still to be found there. Definitely interested and care about your opinions!! There is an excellent book on the little ships of Dunkirk by Christian Brann. In a later edition of the book you will find an appendix detailing other ships that they discovered after it went to print including Polly a small yacht which my grandad had part ownership of before the war. I'll see if I can find some detail for you. Great ending as always!! Have a great weekend
Thank you for keeping the memory
Thank you for sharing this incredible remembrance of the horrible events that happened on the beach.
This is a very important part of history. I had the privilege of helping to maintain and repair a couple of the Dunkirk "small ships".
Awesome show today. One of the pieces you collected looks like the fin portion of a morter round... maybe. And hello from Texas!
Great telling of history. Your side adventures are always welcome. Thanks for sharing.
War is hell...
thanks for the history lesson. very impressive. I once crawled into a bunker in France. didn't get very far, but you will always remember that
I really enjoy seeing the local areas of people in other countries. Just to see the little differences in everyday life around the world.
Very interesting and informative. Thank you
👍😎
Very nice work as always sir. I like your videos and style.
I need to build one of those tool holders.....have been using direct mounted and smaller bits in an Armstrong holder. Thanks!
Very interesting, an impressive workplace for sure. It's marvellous that everything on your barge looks so clean, considering the amount of heavy fuel oil you have to transfer.
Well, we take care of our toys :)
Yes please to the shaper repair
I think I'd enjoy watching you make a cup of coffee. Yes to the shaper repair!
I absolutely love the shaper videos. Charge up the camera batteries and open tool box Michel. Sounds like your viewers want to see the repairs! 🔧
