Hi Michel. The job you showed is exactly the sort of job I enjoy the most. Making small parts for friends. Parts that are unobtainable and so gratefully received. Well done, nicely accomplished. 👏👏👍😀
G'day Rusty. Going from what looks like a rough looking grade 8 bolt into a fine looking set of whatever, looks good, considering the different sizes & angles. Well done. Ted
Hi Michel, I always like the way you utilize the metal you have or can get your hands on, why not it’s there use it. Friends will be friends 😉 yea! I finally made the cheap door 😂
Hi Michel. Great video & super accurate as usual. I will get back to some machining work eventually. Just trying to get the TVR video's out so I can enjoy some driving next year. Take care & will see you on your next video. Steve.
Thanks for sharing. My made a tool for my father-in-law years ago and every time he used it he would find me and thank me as it was a time saver. So times a tool doesn’t cast that much to make but is priceless to the recipient.
Hi Michel ☺, thanks for another interesting video mate, the original part could nearly have been made from a car wheel stud, or maybe that's just me,ha, ha. Anyway you did a good job for your friend utilising that bolt. Best wishes to you and your's, Stuart UK.
A collett block would Simplify and improve your accuracy for the milling operations. Although I'm sure your method was good enough for the job. Excellent looking results.
Michel that looks like a .401 shank for a rivet gun set and my guess is it has the flats milled on it to rivet in tight corners. I'm a retired aircraft mechanic (engineer in Europe) and have half a toolbox drawer full of them. If you do an internet search for .401 Rivet Set you will be able to find the dimensions for it. Nothing clamps the shank it just a slip fit and most times pretty sloppy at that.
Michel to fit the 3 jaw chuck to the backplate, center tree points on they edge. the play there is will be filled by the centers. Iff the play is bigger mayby you can shim the gap.
FFS! every week i hope to se the 10.000 subs , but not yet - i dont get why... but... 360 left - You will get thee,Michel ..actually suprised that it's not much much more
Nicely done! From the description I thought you made 1 thing wrong 2 times, not 3 things right 3 times 😂
Yes, that’s what it looked like. Happily, it’s not that.
Well, no mistakes this time.

Even some of the smallest jobs can be rewarding.
Yes and even a much needed part
Absolutely.
a small job but a nice one👨🏼🔧👍🏻
It was fun to do.
I am fond of production runs. It adds another dimension to machining, planning the steps.
You're right, but just for a few parts.
Make three somethings out of one nothing. You're the best there is at this! Cheers Michel. Matt in the UK.
Thanks Matt.

Just a little bit :)
Great job, and a fine way of spending some quality machine time.

The radius and sanding remind me of woodworking lathes.
Could be :)
Great video Michel, I had a little project last week, just some pins with a couple of small grooves in them, very relaxing. Enjoyed the vid, cheers!
Nothing wrong with little jobs.
Without your useful work Michel, your friend would have to go without! That is a fulfilling job I think.
I agree
I think so too.
G'day Rusty. Going from what looks like a rough looking grade 8 bolt into a fine looking set of whatever, looks good, considering the different sizes & angles.

Good stuff Rusti 👍 Nice that they are legal over there, Visiting Queensland in the 90's I was charged with possession of "a thing" 🤣
Well I suppose it depends on what kind of "thing" :)
Thanks for sharing. My made a tool for my father-in-law years ago and every time he used it he would find me and thank me as it was a time saver. So times a tool doesn’t cast that much to make but is priceless to the recipient.

but it's still fun!! cheers

I did cut the rim on purpose, so be able to centre the chuck.
@@Rustinox Oke, why you do that. Every time centre the chuck takes a lot of time.
