I don’t think Jaquen Hagar could successfully kill Tywin and escape. Not in the middle of his entire army. He would know this and despite their claims at being “no one” they clearly have some value for their life as that’s why he would push against it similarly to his own name. He would know by his faith he would have to go through with it with almost no planning time or resources and would probably end up on a suicide mission.

I think Robb would let Jamie join the nights watch which would give him the chance to escape and try and find Marcella so he could protect what was left of his family. All the while needing to evade re-capture from the starks as well as escaping Stannis, before he is able to get to Marcella himself. It would just be so much better plot while being entirely believable. It would also be Robb showing himself in contrast to Joffery, he was merciful even with a guilty man while Joffery was cruel with an innocent. Both would suffer the consequence. I don't know but that seems very George-esque to me.

I think if Robb promised Sansa’s hand in marriage to Loras Tyrell and told them they can have the throne, along with the remaining kingdoms (ie Reach, Westerlands, Stormlands), the Tyrells will jump for joy and join him against Stannis. Because if Robb is already married, the ideal plan of marrying him to Shereen to ‘unite’ the kingdoms and claims, won’t happen.

So you made the Lannister army and Kevan just dissappear in this scenario while still losing Kings Landing. If Kevan arrives in time they will defeat Stannis, if Kevan does not arrive in time he then has a full Lannister army, potentially backed by the Tyrells, that he could use to siege Kings landing, defend the westerlands or attack Robb, in this case Jaime would still be a valuable hostage.

How many times through the course of the books have I looked back to that moment and thought, Tywin, Joffrey, and Cersei!!! My goodness, I’d love to have seen that.

The moment Tywin dies in the show THAT is when House Lannister starts to crumble, him dying this early and Robb Stark's rebellion might actually succeed.

Not sure why he'd execute Tyrion. Stannis allowed second chances. Joff, Cersei and Tommen have to die, they're threats. Tyrion could be reasoned with to bend the knee. He'd never be welcome at court again, but I don't see why he'd be killed. Myrcella would either be proclaimed Queen by the Dornish, and Westerlands who don't know when to give in, or she's shipped to Stannis. He may allow her to live in the West as a public bastard, who knows. As for Jaime, Stannis won't accept an independent North, but he'd likely tell Robb "Hand over the Kingslayer, and I'll let you bend the knee and return North. I'm keeping Sansa here though as a hostage."

I think Stannis would be pridefully stupid (his default setting) and try to fight a war on all sides- against Robb, the Martells, and the Tyrells. Granted, he has Melisandre on his side, making demon babies for him that will kill his enemies for him. But that's literally slowly killing him. How long will he last before he finally gives out? And what would happen after that?

There's a couple lines that go by quick, but I'm convinced the Westerlings purposely got Robb to break his betrothal at the behest of Tywin.

While the interactions between Arya and Tywin are great in the show she never meets Tywin in the books. So that’s one big reason why she never names Tywin to be killed in the books. She’s more concerned with her daily survival then the big picture. And the show couldn’t have Arya have Tywin killed or have Tywin capture Arya (he should have figured out who she was) without the show going completely away from the books.

Love the video. I do think there would be more of a power struggle if Tywin died at that point. While Tyrion is Tywins heir (with Jamie in the KG) I don’t think he would last long or be able to take full control of the Westerlands to the extent Tywin had. Cersei and Joffrey now have no reason to keep him alive with Tywin gone, there are other Lannister’s alive who could try and seize control, and other western houses that would be more concerned with trying to save their own skin with the northern army so close to the west. I think things would fall apart very quickly for house Lannister should Tywin die at that point in the story.

The easiest way to do this is that she just doesn’t get caught with the letter about Robb. Because she most definitely was probably planning on naming Tywin eventually but was holding off because she knew he was basically all that was keeping her alive. If she doesn’t get caught she still has enough names to get out and kill Tywin
